Introduction: India is an agrarian country where pesticides and insecticides are abundantly used in farming. Organophosphorus compounds are the most common class of pesticides, known to inhibit acetylcholinesterase, thereby increasing acetylcholine levels in the central nervous system. Chronic exposure results in neuropsychiatric manifestations such as depression, often associated with suicidal tendencies. In Ayurveda, several Medhya Rasayana drugs are indicated for mental health disorders. Aparajita (Clitoria ternatea Linn.), traditionally described as Tridoshaghna, Aampachana, and Vishaghna, also possesses Sarpavishahara (anti-venom) properties. Aim: To evaluate the efficacy of Aparajita Mool (Clitoria ternatea Linn.) in the management of depression among farmers chronically exposed to organophosphorus compounds. Methods: A community-based survey was conducted in the Wardha district of Vidarbha, Maharashtra, to identify farmers with more than 12 months of chronic exposure to organophosphorus compounds. Eligible participants were clinically assessed using Hamilton Depression Rating Scale, and serum cholinesterase levels were measured. A total of 40 farmers with mild to moderate depression were enrolled after informed consent. The intervention consisted of Aparajita Mool Churna (1 g daily) for 6 consecutive months. Follow-up assessments were conducted at the 3rd, 6th, and 9th months. Results: Comparison of baseline and 9-month follow-up values demonstrated a highly significant improvement (p < 0.001) in both serum cholinesterase activity and Hamilton depression scores. Conclusion: Aparajita Mool exhibited considerable efficacy in reducing depression severity and normalizing serum cholinesterase levels in farmers chronically exposed to organophosphorus compounds. This study supports its potential role as an effective Ayurvedic intervention for occupationally induced depression

Unani physicians provided a comprehensive elucidation of cancer, referred to as Saraṭān, along with several therapeutic approaches for its control. The canonical book of Unani medicine includes formulations composed of several compounds demonstrated to possess anti-cancer properties in humans. This research employed Itrifal Aftimoon (IA), a formulation including ten distinct drugs, to assess its antioxidant and anticancer properties on breast cancer cells. The DPPH assay was employed to assess antioxidant activity in MCF-7 breast cancer cells, while the MTT test was used to evaluate anticancer properties. The formulation was standardized, and HPTLC fingerprinting was conducted in anticipation of its potential future applications. The aqueous extract (AQ) exhibited the maximum activity, with an IC50 value of 61 μg/ml. Subsequently, the methanolic extract (ME) and the hydroethanolic extract (HE) demonstrated IC50 values of 71 μg/ml and 75 μg/ml, respectively while IC50 value for ascorbic acid was 21 µg/ml. The ME, HE, and AQ extracts exhibited anticancer activity with IC50 values of 64 μg/ml, 82 μg/ml, and 83 μg/ml, respectively. This contrasted with paclitaxel, which exhibited an IC50 value of 18 μg/ml. This study offers essential insights into the potential use of IA as a therapy for breast cancer

Psoriasis, a chronic autoimmune skin condition, aligns with the Ayurvedic classification of Kitibha, which results from vitiated Vata and Kapha doshas and the accumulation of Ama. This study investigates the therapeutic potential of Madhuca longifolia (Mahua) oil in the management of psoriasis. Organoleptic Evaluation, Physicochemical analysis (Acid Value, Saponification Value, Iodine Value) and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) were performed To check authenticity and purity of the oil. In vitro evaluations on HaCaT keratinocyte cell lines were conducted to assess antiproliferative and anti-inflammatory activities. Results revealed that Mahua oil significantly reduced pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, TNF-α) and nuclear transcription factor NF-κB (p < 0.05). Furthermore, Mahua oil demonstrated inhibitory effects on COX-2 pathway, confirming its efficacy in modulating inflammatory responses. These findings support its traditional use and propose Mahua oil as a viable natural treatment for psoriasis

The potential of traditional medicinal herbs to cure neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer\u27s disease (AD) has attracted more and more attention from researchers. Notably, a number of plants have long been used to enhance memory and cognitive performance, including Crocus sativus, Nigella sativa, Coriandrum sativum, Ferula assafoetida, Thymus vulgaris, Zataria multiflora, and Curcuma longa. By lowering oxidative stress, increasing antioxidant levels, and blocking acetylcholinesterase activity, their bioactive substances—carotenoids, monoterpenes, and polyphenols—have neuroprotective benefits. Additionally, by reducing levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines like IL-6, IL-1β, TNF-α, and total nitrite, these herbs control neuroinflammation. Taken together, these results provide credence to the medicinal potential of these herbs and their active ingredients in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and AD.  Traditional medicinal potential in these findings, when combined, support the therapeutic potential of these plants and their active components in the treatment of AD, anxiety, and depression.

As the Prakruti of an individual is unique to him and has various variations related to others, similarly the retinal patterns(structures) have uniqueness and has variations related to others. The study of retinal patterns through fundus photo is often a neglected aspect of physical examination (Dehaprakruti) but with practice and expertise, a good quality of fundus photo print can be obtained to analyse Dehaprakruti of an individual. Aim and Objective: To study the various patterns of fundus photo and its correlation with Dehaprakruti. Material and Method: 90 individuals of three different Dehaprakruti fulfilling the criteria of selection were examined and selected with each group of Prakruti containing 30 individuals. Dehaprakruti Parikshan was done with the help of standard proforma. Avoiding bias of both eye structures we have studied only single right eye of each individual through fundus photographs for variation in structural patterns of retinal vascular tortuosity, branching and fundal glow and observation are drawn. Discussion and Conclusion: There is a statistically significant correlation between Vata Pradhan Dehaprakruti and severe vascular tortuosity, severe vascular branching and blackish red fundal glow. There is a statistically significant correlation between Pitta Pradhan Dehaprakruti and moderate vascular tortuosity, moderate vascular branching and reddish fundal glow. There is a statistically significant correlation between Kapha Pradhan Dehaprakruti and mild vascular tortuosity, mild vascular branching and dull fundal glow. There is a statistically significant association of Dehaprakruti with retinal structural patterns
