Ri-vivere il passato: memoria e oblio tra "Funes el memorioso" di Borges e Nietzsche
Full text linkThe essay aims to highlight how the theme of memory and its implications, both in the theoretical dimension of knowledge and in the practical dimension of action, are addressed in the short story Funes, the Memorious, by J. L Borges, contained in the famous collection Fictions (1944). The analysis of the character of the Borgesian short story is carried out in parallel with the analysis of the problem of oblivion in Nietzsche’s philosophy. The essay intends to show how the Nietzschean reflection on the theme of memory influences Borges’ literary creation and is relevant for a more comprehensive understanding of it.Il saggio intende mettere in luce come il tema della memoria e le sue implicazioni, tanto nella dimensione teoretica della conoscenza, quanto nella dimensione pratica dell’azione, emergano nel racconto di J. L. Borges Funes, o della memoria, contenuto nella celebre raccolta Finzioni (1944). L’analisi del personaggio del racconto borgesiano è condotta parallelamente all’analisi del problema dell’oblio nella filosofia di Nietzsche, di cui viene sottolineata l’influenza nella creazione letteraria di Borges e l’importanza per la comprensione della stessa

Full text linkThe interpretation of the Reformation allows to draw a comparison between Hans Belting’s thought concerning the separation between the era of image and the era of art, and Joachim Ritter’s and Odo Marquard’s philosophy of aesthetic compensation. The present work aims to examine affinities and differences between such views, from terminological questions to the understanding of the role of the images in Lutheranism, Calvinism, and Catholicism.L’interpretazione della Riforma protestante costituisce il terreno per un confronto tra la riflessione di Hans Belting, condotta nell’ottica di una separazione tra era dell’immagine ed era dell’arte, e l’estetica della compensazione di Joachim Ritter e Odo Marquard. Le affinità e le differenze riscontrabili tra queste posizioni costituiscono l’oggetto del presente lavoro, dalle questioni terminologiche fino all’interpretazione del ruolo dell’immagine in ambito luterano, calvinista e cattolico

Full text linkThis paper focuses on the relationship between negativity and trascendence as it emerges in the aesthetic thought of Theodor Wiesengrund Adorno, for which the potential of a work of art is the possibility contained within itself, and which coincides with its utopic dimension. It is precisely this utopic dimension that impedes a complete identification between a work of art and a piece of merchandise. From this point of you, this paper examines how, through the uninterruped relationship between essence and appearance, language and reality, thought and perception, the power of a work of art coincides with its capacity to show how things could be different from actual reality.Il seguente saggio tenta di mettere a fuoco la relazione tra negatività e trascendenza presente nella riflessione estetica di Theodor Wiesengrund Adorno, per il quale l’opera d’arte non vale tanto per ciò che attraverso di essa si realizza, quanto, e forse soprattutto, per ciò che in essa rimane allo stato della potenza, per le possibilità intraviste che si conservano al suo interno che, coincidendo con la sua dimensione utopica, impediscono la piena identificazione fra opera d’arte e merce di consumo. Ciò che conta non è solo il passaggio da un senso potenziale a un significato determinato, né quello dal possibile al reale, quanto piuttosto la contingenza stessa del significare e, di qui, la sua possibilità di non essere o di essere-altrimenti
