Contemplative Communities Lab I [video]
No full textThis incubator lab is one part of the Contemplative Communities Cluster Project sponsored by the Health and Human Enrichment Cluster. This project has several moving parts with the development of four experimental general education Directions courses. (See additional items for the flyer used to promote the four courses). All four courses are themed together around the use of contemplative inquiry exploring curiosity around Shakespeare, Playfulness, Observation, and Ethics.
While the courses meet individually covering individual course content with thematic material on curiosity, all of the sections meet every Wednesday for 50 minutes in an Incubator Lab designed to allow the students to learn from each other, experience contemplative inquiry from the various disciplinary perspectives of English, Communication and Media, and Biology. Students facilitate the incubator labs and each course of students teaches the other students what they learn in their individual classes
White Mountains Arts Festival [video II]
No full textPlanning meeting for the White Mountains Arts Festival. By working collaboratively with all of you, along with the area restaurants and hotels, we can come together to market and promote offerings to showcase to area residents and tourists the many rich theatrical and cultural opportunities in the Lakes & White Mountain regions. To do this, a website will be built to promote all the central New Hampshire has to offer. In addition to the website and accompanying content, a month-long festival will be created to occur beginning July 2019

No full textIn The Process of Success and Life After PSU, presented by the Society for Scholarly Dialogue, Plymouth State Alumni Jesse Parker spoke to students about how he achieved success and happiness. He spoke about the road to where he is now and what jobs titles/positions he held within different companies and how they led him to the company he is with today. Jesse reflected on his time at PSU and what he would have done differently if he had the chance to do it all over again.
The event was held in Frost Commons. Students met for social time at 6:30 pm. The presentation began at 7 pm, with time reserved for questions afterward
