The Big-Dot Product: An Altered Dot Product
Get PDFThe dot product is a common vector operation with uses in finding perpendicular vectors and leading to vector projections. With the dot product being so useful with vectors, we explore an alteration of the definition called the big-dot product. Given vectors v and u with x as the angle between them, the dot product of vectors v and u is |v||u|sin(x), while the big-dot product with the same givens is |v||u|cos(x). The big-dot product excels with scalar multiples of vectors and areas, but yields a complicated result when finding perpendicular vectors

CPR Effectiveness at Preventing Mortality
No full textThe purpose of this study is to determine which kind of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is effective at preventing mortality in out-of-hospital adults who experience cardiac arrest as discussed in the literature. Our literature review showed that chest compressions alone are just as effective at preventing mortality as CPR that includes rescue breathing. The problem includes individuals dying after CPR due to lack of knowledge about how to appropriately perform CPR with rescue breathing
The Effects of Umbilical Cord Milking Versus Delayed Cord Clamping in Preterm Infants
No full textDelayed cord clamping has been proven beneficial for preterm infants but can halt resuscitation. The purpose of the study is to compare umbilical cord milking with delayed cord clamping. This study involves umbilical cord milking defined as the process in which the provider gradual pushes remaining blood from umbilical cord into preterm infants (born \u3c 37 weeks) immediately or for a duration of \u3c 20 seconds. The method of this study was a literature search using Google Scholar and CINAHL with a total of 10 articles. Results show umbilical cord milking improves the overall health of the preterm newborn by decreasing the need for oxygen therapy at birth, improving hematocrit levels and decreasing the need for blood transfusions in comparison to delayed cord clamping. This is an easy intervention and has the potential to improve overall health in the neonate

Get PDFThe 2019 NH Globalization Report analyzes and evaluates foreign business activity in New Hampshire from 2001 to 2018. Activities recorded for foreign businesses in the state range from leadership, human capital investments or interventions to direct expansion.
A key finding evidenced and described in the current report is the increase in the amount and variety of foreign business activity, with expansion as a prevalent objective. The analysis indicates a significant focus on innovation in the state and outside of the state, with New Hampshire as the beneficiary of Research & Development spillovers. Utilities and banking/finance are main sectors for foreign business activities, with many developments involving information technology. Large projects drive and focus activity.
The report ends with recommendations for development professionals, such as new growth segments, clustering opportunities, and new ways to engage
