    Abstract Education fundamentally plays a crucial role in the development and advancement of a nation’s assets, particularly its human resources. Data from the Malaka Regency Statistics Agency (BPS) indicate that the Gross Enrollment Rate (GER) for senior high school in 2024 is 77.50%, meaning that 22.50% of youth of upper-secondary school age are not enrolled in school. Meanwhile, the GER for junior high school stands at 91.03%, and the GER for elementary school reaches 98.80%. The high rate of school dropout at the upper-secondary level also contributes to the low Human Development Index (HDI) in 2024, where Malaka Regency ranks 20th out of 23 regencies/municipalities with a score of 65.13%. This community service activity was conducted offline at the Kletek Village Hall, Central Malaka District. The activity involved 50 participants consisting of school-dropout children and their parents, the management of the Lurumutin Community Learning Center (PKBM), as well as the Head of Kletek Village and village officials. The methods employed included lectures, group discussions, and interviews. The results of this activity show an increase in community awareness regarding the importance of the 12-year compulsory education policy, the establishment of collaboration among village authorities, the community, and PKBM in preventing and addressing school dropout cases, marked by the signing of an integrity pact for dropout prevention, and the enrollment of seven school-dropout children into the Package C Equivalency Program at PKBM Lurumutin. Keywords: school dropouts, gross enrollment rate, human development index Abstrak Pendidikan sejatinya memiliki peran yang sangat penting bagi pembangunan dan pengembangan aset-aset negara terutama sumber daya manusia. Data dari BPS Kabupaten Malaka menunjukan bahwa Angka Partisipasi Kasar (APK) Sekolah Menengah Atas tahun 2024 sebesar 77,50 % artinya bahwa sebesar 22,50 % anak usia SMA/sederajat tidak mengenyam pendidikan di sekolah. Sedangkan APK SMP/sederajat adalah 91,03% dan APK jenjang SD/sederajat sebesar 98,80%. Tingginya angka putus sekolah pada tingkat SMA/sederajat juga menjadi penyebab rendahnya Indeks Pembangunan Manusia tahun 2024, dimana Kabupaten Malaka menempati posisi ke-20 dari total 23 Kabupaten/Kota dengan skor 65,13%. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan secara luring bertempat di Balai Desa Kletek Kecamatan Malaka Tengah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diikuti 50 peserta yang terdiri dari anak dan orangtua kasus putus sekolah, pengelola Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) Lurumutin serta Kepala Desa Kletek beserta perangkat. Metode yang digunakan yaitu ceramah, diskusi dan wawancara. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini adalah terjadi peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya wajib belajar 12 tahun, terciptanya kolaborasi antar pemerintah desa, masyarakat dan PKBM dalam upaya pencegahan dan penanganan anak putus sekolah berupa penandatanganan pakta integritas pencegahan anak putus sekolah serta sebanyak tujuh anak putus sekolah mendaftar Program Kesetaraan Paket C di PKBM Lurumutin.     EVALUATION OF THE BLACK GARLIC FERMENTATION CHRACTERISTIC USING CAMION (BLACK GARLIC FERMENTATION MACHINE)

    This study was to determine how the effect of fermentation time affected characteristics of black garlic using CAMION with a fermentation period of 10-20 days with an interval of 2 days and a temperature of 70 ± 1?C and a humidity of 70 ± 1%. The study used a Randomized Block Design (RCBD) with one factor, namely the fermentation time. There were 6 levels used in this study, namely 10 days, 12 days, 14 days, 16 days, 18 days, and 20 days with 3 repetitions. Dependent variables were water content, yield, physical color test, organoleptic, and e-nose. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Office Excel 2010, SPSS, if the significance value was significantly different, then the LSD test was performed at 5%. Organoleptic data were analyzed using the Friedman test, while electronic nose results were analyzed using the Minitab15 Statistical Software. Based on the results of the study, the fermentation time significantly affected the yield, water content, brightness color (L), reddish color (a *), yellowish color (b*). The fermentation time does not significantly affect the aroma of black onions, but it does have a significant effect on the color, texture, and taste of black onions. The scent that results from the analysis of the electronic nose showed that there was a difference in aroma between CAMION black onions and samples already on the market.

    The Effectiveness of Guided Inquiry Based E-LKPD to Improve Metacognitive Skills on Reaction Rate Material

    Students' metacognitive skills on reaction rate material are still low, so it is necessary to innovate digital-based teaching materials that can facilitate the process of planning, monitoring, and evaluating learning. This study aims to evaluate how well guided inquiry-oriented e-LKPD improves students' metacognitive skills on reaction rate material. Students of SMA Negeri 1 Slahung were used as research subjects. This study used a one-group pretest-posttest design and was pre-experimental. The results of the pretest and posttest of metacognitive skills were used to collect research data. The method used for data analysis was the Paired Sample t-Test. The results of the Paired Sample t-Test showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). Therefore, it can be said that guided inquiry-based e-LKPD successfully improved students' metacognitive skills on reaction rate material.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi seberapa baik e-LKPD berbasis inkuiri terbimbing meningkatkan kemampuan metakognitif siswa terkait konten kecepatan reaksi. Siswa SMA Negeri 1 Slahung dijadikan subjek penelitian. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pretest-posttest satu kelompok dan bersifat pra-eksperimental. Hasil pretest dan posttest kemampuan metakognitif digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data penelitian. Metode yang digunakan untuk analisis data adalah Paired Sample t-Test. Hasil Paired Sample t-Test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (<0,05). Oleh karena itu, dapat dikatakan bahwa e-LKPD berbasis inkuiri terbimbing berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan metakognitif siswa terkait konten kecepatan reaksi.     The Effect Of Using Smart Wheel Media To Improve Literacy Skills In 5-6 Year Old Children

    This study was motivated by the low level of early literacy among young children, often influenced by the limited availability of attractive, suitable learning media. Literacy in children aged 5–6 years is an important foundation for the development of reading, writing, and critical thinking skills in subsequent levels of education. This study aims to determine the effect of using smart windmill media on the literacy skills of 5-6-year-old children at Adilika Makassar Kindergarten. The research method is quantitative, using a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 30 children in group B at Adilika Makassar Kindergarten. The data collection instrument was an observation sheet on literacy skills that included letter recognition, simple reading, and basic writing. The data were analyzed using a paired-samples t-test to assess the difference between the pretest and posttest results. The results showed that the use of smart wheel media significantly improved children's literacy skills. The average posttest score was higher than the pretest score, with a statistically significant difference (p < 0.05), indicating an increase in literacy skills after the children learned to use this medium. Thus, it can be concluded that smart windmill media is an effective, innovative learning tool for improving early childhood literacy

    Development Of The Word Snake And Ladder Media In Improving Early Reading Skills For Preschool Children In Group B

    Early reading skills are crucial for young children, although in practice, many children still have difficulty identifying letters and words. This study developed the Ular Tangga Kata (URGATA) media through the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model. The validation test results showed that this media is suitable for use, with a score of 80% from media experts and 77.1% from subject matter experts, as well as receiving excellent appreciation (92%) from education practitioners. Empirically, the use of URGATA has been proven effective in improving children's reading skills, as seen from the increase in the average score from 44 to 84 with an N-Gain value of 0.7 (moderate category). Therefore, URGATA is an effective learning media solution to stimulate early reading skill

    The Effect of the Traditional Lop-Lop Manok Game on Developing Social Interaction Skills in Early Childhood

    Social interaction skills are an important aspect of early childhood development, but in reality, there are still children who are unable to cooperate, communicate, and obey rules in group play activities. One effort that can be made to improve these skills is through the use of traditional games that are rich in social and cultural values. This study aims to determine the effect of the traditional game Lop-Lop Manok on the social interaction skills of early childhood at TKN 5 Banda Aceh. This study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design. The research subjects consisted of 18 children in group B. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and documentation of children's social interaction skills before and after being given treatment in the form of applying the traditional game of Lop-Lop Manok. The data obtained were analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The results showed that the average score for children's social interaction skills increased from 2.13 in the pretest to 2.62 in the posttest. The t-test results showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), meaning that there was a significant difference between children's social interaction skills before and after the treatment. It can be concluded that the traditional game of Lop-Lop Manok has a significant effect on improving the social interaction skills of early childhood at TKN 5 Banda Aceh, as well as being an effective learning medium that supports the preservation of local Acehnese culture. The characteristics of the traditional game of Lop-Lop Manok are that it is a game originating from Aceh, has simple rules, does not require special equipment, involves social interaction, has educational value, develops social-emotional aspects, supports motor development, and is enjoyable

    Permainan Hydrocarbon Craft sebagai Media Pembelajaran untuk Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar dan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Peserta Didik pada Materi Senyawa Hidrokarbon

    This study aims to obtain a Hydrocarbon Craft game that meets the feasibility aspects based on the valid, practical, and effective categories in improving students' learning motivation and critical thinking skills on hydrocarbon compounds. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) type of research that refers to the ADDIE development model. However, this study is limited to the development stage. The product trial was conducted on a limited basis with 33 grade XI students at SMA Khadijah Surabaya. The instruments used were validation sheets, student response questionnaires, student activity observation sheets, learning motivation questionnaires based on the ARCS model developed by Keller, which includes four components, namely Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction and pretest-posttest sheets. The following are the details of the research results obtained, namely (1) the validity aspect obtained a mode of 5 with a very valid category, (2) the practicality aspect was obtained through a student response questionnaire with a percentage of 95.43% and observation of student activities of 88.25% so that the media was said to be very practical, (3) the effectiveness aspect was obtained through a learning motivation questionnaire of 90%, and the results of the posttest of critical thinking skills analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test obtained a p value <0.05 which showed that there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores, so that the media was said to be effective. Based on the research results obtained, it shows that the Hydrocarbon Craft game is suitable for use as a learning medium to increase learning motivation and critical thinking skills of students in the material of hydrocarbon compounds.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh permainan Hydrocarbon Craft yang memenuhi aspek kelayakan berdasarkan kategori valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi senyawa hidrokarbon. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian Research and Development (R&D) yang mengacu pada model pengembangan ADDIE. Namun, penelitian ini terbatas hanya sampai tahap development. Uji coba produk dilakukan secara terbatas sebanyak 33 peserta didik kelas XI di SMA Khadijah Surabaya. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar validasi, angket respon peserta didik, lembar observasi aktivitas peserta didik, angket motivasi belajar yang didasarkan pada model ARCS yang dikembangkan oleh Keller, yang mencakup empat komponen, yaitu Attention, Relevance, Confidence, dan Satisfaction dan lembar pretest-posttest. Berikut rincian hasil penelitian yang didapatkan yaitu (1) aspek validitas memperoleh modus 5 dengan kategori sangat valid, (2) aspek kepraktisan diperoleh melalui angket respon peserta didik dengan persentase sebesar 95,43% dan observasi aktivitas peserta didik sebesar 88,25% sehingga media dikatakan sangat praktis, (3) aspek keefektifan diperoleh melalui angket motivasi belajar sebesar 90%, dan hasil posttest keterampilan berpikir kritis yang dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test mendapatkan nilai p < 0,05 yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara skor pretest dan posttest, sehingga media dikatakan efektif.     Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran REACT Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis di Kelas VII Materi Zat Dan Perubahannya

    This study was conducted to assess the contribution of the REACT model in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in learning about substances and their changes at a public junior high school in Serang City. A quantitative approach was employed, using a pretest–posttest control group design, where Class VII C served as the experimental group applying the REACT model, while Class VII A functioned as the control group using the PBL model. Data were collected through multiple instruments, including interviews, questionnaires, test documentation, and observations, and were subsequently analyzed using homogeneity and normality tests, followed by an independent sample t-test. The results indicated an increase in the experimental group’s posttest mean score to 78, outperforming the control group’s mean score of 66, with a significance value of 0.003, below the 0.05 threshold. These findings confirm that the implementation of the REACT model effectively enhances students’ critical thinking skills through the stages of Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring. Therefore, the REACT model can be considered a viable alternative science teaching strategy that supports the development of students’ critical thinking abilities.Studi ini dilaksanakan untuk menilai kontribusi Model REACT dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada pembelajaran mengenai zat dan perubahannya di salah satu SMP negeri di Kota Serang.  Metode yang dipilih ialah kuantitatif, dengan  menerapkan desain penelitian pretest-posttest control group, dimana kelas VII C menjadi kelompok eksperimen dengan Model REACT dan Kelas VII A menjadi Kelompok kontrol dengan model PBL. Data dikumpulkan melalui berbagai instrument antara lain, wawancara, angket, dokumentasi tes, dan observasi, setelah data terkumpul dianalisis melalui uji homogenitas, normalitas serta uji independent Sample t-test. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan adanya peningkatan skor rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen tercatat sebesar 78 lebih unggul dibandingkan kelas control yang hanya mencapai skor 66, nilai signifikansi yang berada pada angka 0,001 < 0,05. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa penerapan model REACT terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik melalui tahapan Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, dan Transferring. Dengan demikian, model REACT dapat dijadikan alternatif strategi pembelajaran IPA yang mendukung pengembangan berpikir kritis peserta didik

    Analisis Persepsi Peserta Didik dan Guru Terhadap Kebermaknaan Praktikum IPA Di SMP Kota Pontianak

    The implementation of science practicums in junior high schools should support meaningful learning. However, in reality, they are often considered merely a supplement to theory. This study aims to compare the perceptions of students and teachers regarding the meaningfulness of science practicums in junior high schools in Pontianak City. The research was conducted using a survey method with a closed-ended questionnaire, the Meaningful Learning in the Laboratory Instrument (MLLI), which had been modified for use at the junior high school level. There were four indicators in accordance with the MLLI, namely motivation, critical thinking, procedural skills, and the benefits of practical work. Samples were randomly selected from 12 junior high schools that granted permission for the research. The results showed that students rated the meaningfulness of practical work at an average of 74% (in the high category), while teachers rated the meaningfulness of practical work at an average of 79% (in the very high category). The indicator of practical benefits received the highest score, while the indicators of critical thinking and skills were still low. These findings suggest that practical work has provided valuable learning experiences, but requires optimization through a more intensive inquiry and guidance approach to further develop students' critical thinking skills.Pelaksanaan praktikum IPA di SMP seharusnya mendukung pembelajaran yang bermakna. Tetapi, kenyataannya masih sering dianggap hanya sebagai pelengkap teori. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan persepsi peserta didik dan guru terhadap kebermaknaan praktikum IPA di SMP Kota Pontianak. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei menggunakan angket tertutup Meaningful Learning in the Laboratory Instrument (MLLI) yang telah dimodifikasi untuk digunakan di level Sekolah Mengenah Pertama (SMP). Terdapat empat indikator sesuai dengan MLLI yaitu motivasi, berpikir kritis, keterampilan prosedural dan manfaat praktikum. Sampel diambil secara random dari 12 SMP yang memberikan izin untuk melaksanakan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik menilai kebermaknaan praktikum dengan rata-rata 74% (kategori tinggi), sedangkan guru menilai kebermaknaan praktikum dengan rata-rata 79% (kategori sangat tinggi). Indikator manfaat praktikum mendapatkan skor tertinggi, sedangkan indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan masih rendah. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa praktikum sudah memberikan pengalaman belajar nyata, tetapi perlu dioptimalkan melalui pendekatan inkuiri dan bimbingan yang lebih intensif agar kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik berkembang

    Pengaruh Kecerdasan Emosional Terhadap Prestasi Belajar Siswa Kelas VIII Pada Mata Pelajaran IPA di SMP IT Cordova Samarinda

    Emotional intelligence is one of the crucial elements that contribute to students' academic achievement. However, based on initial observations at SMP IT Cordova Samarinda, it was identified that the emotional regulation ability of some eighth-grade students has not reached an optimal level, although their academic achievement in science subjects is considered satisfactory. This study aims to examine the impact of emotional intelligence on student learning achievement in Natural Sciences at SMP IT Cordova Samarinda. This study applies a quantitative approach with an ex-postfacto correlational design, where the sample was selected through a purposive sampling technique and the data analysis used was simple linear regression with a significance level of 0.05. The findings from the simple linear regression test stated that the significance value (Sig.) reached 0.20, which exceeds 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is no influence of emotional intelligence on the learning achievement of eighth-grade students in Natural Sciences at SMP IT Cordova Samarinda, with an R Square value of 0.031, which concludes that emotional intelligence only contributes 3.1% to student learning achievement in that field.Kecerdasan emosional merupakan salah satu elemen krusial yang berkontribusi terhadap pencapaian akademik siswa. Namun berdasarkan pengamatan awal di SMP IT Cordova Samarinda, teridentifikasi bahwa kemampuan regulasi emosi pada sebagian siswa kelas VIII belum mencapai tingkat optimal, meskipun prestasi akademik mereka dalam mata pelajaran IPA tergolong memuaskan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dampak kecerdasan emosional terhadap prestasi belajar siswa dalam bidang Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam di SMP IT Cordova Samarinda. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan rancangan korelasional ex-postfacto , dimana sampel dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling dan analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linier sederhana dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Temuan dari uji regresi linier sederhana menyatakan nilai signifikansi (Sig.) mencapai 0,20, yang melebihi 0,05. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap prestasi belajar siswa kelas VIII dalam mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam di SMP IT Cordova Samarinda, dengan nilai R Square 0,031, yang menyimpulkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional hanya memberikan kontribusi 3,1% terhadap prestasi belajar siswa dalam bidang tersebut
