Students’ Interests in Maternal Nursing : From an Analysis of Learning Themes Based on Students’ Free Thinking
Objective: This study aimed to clarify the students’ interests based on themes related to maternal nursing that students have freely set up in maternity nursing practice.
Methods: Themes related to titles, the life stages of women studied, and main learning methods and learning locations were extracted from the learning reports submitted by 262 third-year and fourth-year students; they were then analysed quantitatively and qualitatively.
Result: In maternity nursing, students are involved in learning related to ‘Nursing activities and social resources to support pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare’, ‘Nursing perspective to support parental role acquisition’, ‘Maternal and child nutrition from pregnancy to weaning’, ‘High-risk maternal, child, and family nursing’, ‘Modern obstetrics and gynaecology medical care and nursing related to reproduction’, and ‘Education related to sexuality and its reality’. More than 80% of the women studied were at the mature life stage.
Conclusion: The results suggested that efforts should be made to broaden the student’s understanding of menopausal and elderly women so that they can learn from the perspective of reproductive health by grasping women’s entire life cycle.departmental bulletin pape
Effects of parent training on parenting self-efficacy among female college students
This study examined the differences in expectations for parent training among female college students depending on whether or not they had taken it.
As a result of asking the students to answer whether they could obtain the benefit from learning parent training for each question item such as parenting self-efficacy, no significant differences were found.
On the other hand, in the diagram of co-occurrence network in text mining, qualitative differences were observed. The unlearned students' expectations were connected with vague words, while the learned students' expectations were connected with keywords related to specific knowledge and skills related to parent training.departmental bulletin pape
A Study on the Characteristics of Themes of the Western Chintz with a Figure as a Motif : Using the Western Chintz in the Collection of Kyoritsu Women's University Museum
Kyoritsu Women's University Museum has 51 western chintz, 25 of which contain a figure as a motif. In this paper, we examine the details of four items (IDs: 2427, 2136, 2151, and 2206) that were under investigation from 25 western chintz. This study investigates object details using database of The Art Institute of Chicago, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Moreover, this paper describe the characteristics of western chintz with a figure as a motif including 25 western chintz in the Kyoritsu Women's University Museum.
It became clear that most of them can be divided into the following three groups: those with landscape themes, those with themes from works of art, and those with political themes. In this paper, we especially examine those with themes from works of art and those with political themes. About those with themes from works of art, some were affected by literature and drama that had just came out at the time, while others were influenced by neoclassicism. It seems that this phenomena is associated with excavation of Pompeii. About those with a political subject, they have changed how the politicians are depicted before and after French Revolution.
According to these results, it was concluded that there were cases where the themes of western chintz reflected interest and symbolic events of the times.departmental bulletin pape
Kimono with bamboo and sparrow on blue plain silk ground of Kyoritsu Women's University Museum
This study investigates the possibility that the blue plain silk kimono with bamboo and sparrow Motifs (hereinafter “this kimono”), which is owned by the Kyoritsu Women’s University Museum, should be understood as hōmonfuku (“visiting wear”) from the late Meiji period, as established by the features identified in this work. First, we present an overview of hōmonfuku. Next, we discuss the state of hōmonfuku at the end of the Meiji era, using newspapers and magazines published during the era and publicity magazines published by Mitsukoshi Gofukuten. Specifically, the features were organized in relation to four perspectives, namely fabric, techniques of pattern arrangement and expression, crest, and designs on the hem lining of the kimono. We examined whether this kimono was hōmonfuku or not by making comparison between the characteristics of hōmonfuku at the end of the Meiji period and the characteristics of this kimono, which were arranged during the previous stage.
It was found that except for the point of the fabric, this kimono matched the features of hōmonfuku of the late Meiji period as derived from the literature. In particular, it was found that kimonos with patterns created by weaving on the hem lining of the kimono were unique to hōmonfuku of the late Meiji period to the early Taisho period; hence, it is highly likely that this kimono was hōmonfuku.departmental bulletin pape

Comparative Study of Conventional and Proposed Methods in Process Costing for the Refinements of Material Waste Recognition
Although each of the SDGs demands serious attention from academia around the world, Goal 12, which states “Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns”, presents a particular challenge to those who are engaged in the Cost Accounting fields.
In this connection, the study on waste occurring during the course of a manufacturing process has been a relatively low-profile theme among the academics engaged in Cost Accounting, and arguably this reflected the view that there would not be much gained by focusing on waste.
This view, however, needs to be modified in light of the global awareness of and commitments to the SDGs as said above. This is because, if we are unable to grasp the level of waste occurring during the manufacturing process with accuracy, the enterprise in question would not be equipped with the vital information of its ongoing costs (including waste) for making appropriate managerial decisions toward achieving the SDGs.
Against this background, the writer has already questioned the validity of certain traditional assumptions made on waste and has presented an alternative method in a simplified model (Koizumi,2021).
In this article, which is a sequel to the above, the writer elaborates the examination of the validity of the assumption commonly adopted under the conventional method, i.e., that no waste occurs from the B-WIP, and introduces a more refined method, the K-Method, in place of the conventional method.
The K-Method aims to capture the reality of the production activities with more accuracy and is based on the FIFO Method of Non-Neglect. To illustrate the differences between the conventional method and K-Method, the following two cases are examined with sample data:
Case 1: WOP (%) > The degree of completion of the E-WIP (%).
Case 2: WOP (%) ≤ The degree of completion of the E-WIP (%).
The comparison reveals that in Case 1 there are significant differences between the two methods, which are due to the presence of waste occurring from the B-WIP. On the other hand, the results are identical between the two methods in Case 2.departmental bulletin pape
