Thesis Completion Analysis Using Optimistic Bias Possibility

    No full text
Thesis is a condition that must be fulfilled by prospective graduates to be able to get a bachelor's degree. This study uses optimistic bias because in general humans experience overestimation (optimistic bias) on things that are considered as positive events, but underestimate (pessimistic biases) on negative events. This study uses the completion time of the Final Project Report as a case study. The results of this study are that there are systematic errors / biases in the accuracy data at the estimated time of completion of the final project. Accuracy time occurs Optimistic bias because the estimated value tends to be smaller when compared with the actual time value. Statistically it can be concluded that there is no difference in the accuracy of the estimated data completion of final assignments between male and female students

    No full text
External corrosion on mature oil and gas field installation very challenging issues. External corrosion of pipeline riser on tidal zone is the most case for pipeline corrosion [2]. API 5L X52 is familiar pipeline for offshore oil and gas production facilities. Pipeline riser external corrosion on tidal zone have some consequences, time constrain related tidal cycle, production loss, oil spill impact to company reputation, costly maintenance. This research intended to find out effect of tidal cycle and salt water salinity to the rate and type of corrosion on API 5l X52 pipeline riser. Tidal cycle is modeling by wet and dry coupon on salt water. Corrosion rate measure by weight loss coupon. Corrosion product examine by XRD. Chloride contents and oxygen dissolve combination resulting maximum corrosion rate. Oxygen dissolve is main factor to corrosion on salt water. Maximum oxygen dissolve on salt water concentration 3.5% wt. On high salinity salt water corrosion rate depend oxygen dissolve [2]. Tidal cycle has impact to corrosion rate. General corrosion type happen on all coupon with corrosion product component Fe2O3, Fe3O4 examined by XRD

Improving The Quality Of Manufacturing Products With The Application Of Lean Six-Sigma

    No full text
Product quality is an important factor that underlies the consumer's decision to choose the desired product and service. Quality can initially be determined by the company, but in subsequent developments, quality planning must pay attention to the wants and needs of consumers. In providing excellent service to customers, the company needs to apply the concept of lean thinking, intending to reduce waste. A methodology is needed that can reduce product variations and production process errors with the Six Sigma methodology. The second application is often called Lean Six Sigma. This paper aims to improve the quality of fluid carrier tank products. The number of defective products, mainly on welding, cutting and bending process, so rework is needed that causes companies to suffer losses. The company expects to reduce product defects by less than 5%. The welding, cutting and bending process are the highest contributor to defective products, so that process improvement is limited to these processes. The process of welding, cutting and bending process is considered a major problem, so the main concern for quality improvement is for the main problem. Sigma, the initial welding, cutting and bending process in a sequence is quite good. The target to be achieved is to increase the sigma value of both processes. The alternative is chosen, namely creating and supervising SOPs, and training to improve the skills, knowledge, and abilities of each employee. These alternatives can increase the sigma value from the initial conditions from 2.93 to 3.20. The increase in sigma value indicates a decrease in the level of defects per million opportunities (DPMO).

    No full text
The conducted research studied a feature extraction method in a musical instrument tone recognition system. The purpose of this study was to obtain a number of feature extraction coefficients that are smaller than those obtained in previous studies. The studied feature extraction was a DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform)-based segment averaging and Gaussian windowing. The testing of the musical instrument's tone recognition system was carried out using pianica, tenor recorder, and bellyra musical instruments, each of which represented many, several, and one significant local peaks in the transform domain. The test results showed that the optimal number of feature extraction coefficient was 8 coefficients, which could give a recognition rate of up to 100%. The test results were achieved using a Gaussian window with a sigma value of 2-6, and a 128 points DCT

The sunlight that enters through the transparent glass will heat the Greenhouse Effect room, the air in the room will become hot, then the hot air naturally (air density becomes low) will rise upward following the slope of the transparent glass than through the Drying Rack while drying the corn. After passing through the Drying Rack continue to go above and out through the Turbine Ventilator, this Turbine will automatically move due to the pressure of the hot air coming out, and the turbine will rotate continuously if air temperature  is inside in the drying room larger than the outside air, and if there is wind speed around the Ventilator Turbine. The results of this study obtained a drying rate of 3.77 grams / minute and the efficiency of the corn drying equipment system was 52%, to use a Turbine Ventilator, whereas without using a Turbine Ventilator, the drying rate was 4.23 grams / minute and the efficiency was 32%

Information System of Blood Needs Stock on The Indonesian Red Cross Using Weighted Moving Average Method

    No full text
The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) is a national national association organization in Indonesia engaged in the field of social, humanitarian and health. The logistics section of the Blood Transfusion Unit (UTD) is a warehouse where blood stock is store in, out, or destroyed blood. The importance of blood availability at requires The Indonesian Red Cross requires The Indonesian Red Cross to always maintain the availaibility of blood to meet the need for blood tranfusion . the application of prediction as an effort to control blood supply is considered important. This is needed to minimize the amount of ordering and storing blood that must be borne by The Indonesian Red Cross. For this reson, a precise prediction method is needed in order to produce an accurate estimate of blood supply. In this study the prediction of blood is done using the Weigthed Moving Average (WMA) method, because the patern of stock data and blood demand owned by The Indonesian Red Cross follows the trend data pattern. Comparison of the smallest error value between the 3th-month WMA period and 6th-month  WMA selected to be the result of focasting. The results of the average error value (MAD, MSE, and MAPE) show a period of 6 months has the smallest value, although there is a decline in blood type AB, but the difference in the ratio of error values in goldar AB is not too far. This happens because donors or requests for AB goldar are not too many

Decision Support System for Determining Website-Based Fruit Quality in Pagar Alam Fruit Farmers Group

    No full text
Fruit is a healthy supplement, the biggest consumer of fruit is found in big cities. Pagar Alam is an area that produces various types of fruit. Assessment of fruit quality by farmer groups, still using manual methods so that it has some weaknesses. Weakness in evaluating the quality of fruit manually causes an inaccurate assessment because the assessment system is done by estimating the quality of a sample of fruits based on the experience of quality assessors and not based on standardized aspects of assessment. For this reason, a Decision Support System (SPK) was developed to determine the quality of fruit based on a website that helps assessors of the quality of fruits in farmer groups in determining accurate fruit quality with a quick process. This system uses PHP as its programming language, the method used by RAD is an object oriented approach. The system can be used to support fruit quality assessment decisions, thus providing data on the quality of current fruit yields and can be used as a reference for farmers to improve the quality of fruit production in the next harvest
