The document elaborates on the multiple factors involved in facilitating or limiting the functioning of the Reading Clubs, extracted from the common elements identified in the 10 case studies. Section six presents some reflections on the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) dimension, pointing out the role that women and girls play in the UL model, as well as the impact it has on the most vulnerable groups of children. Next, the main changes perceived by the participants as a result of the implementation of the UL model and the Reading Clubs are described. Finally, the report ends with some conclusions that attempt to take into account the results and the reflections raised throughout the document

In the current context of a changing climate and search for innovative solutions for adaptation, mitigation, and resilience, it has become even more critical to increase investments for capacity building including for women scientists in Francophone Africa. With such investments, these scientists can benefit from available research and development opportunities, foster dialogue amongst themselves while also maximizing interaction and collaboration between male and female scientists/professionals from different linguistic and socio-cultural African backgrounds
Implementation of a coronavirus disease 2019 infection prevention and control training program in a low-middle income country
No full textThe COVID-19 pandemic poses an ongoing risk to health workers globally. This is particularly true in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) where resource constraints, ongoing waves of infection, and limited access to vaccines disproportionately burden health systems. Thus, infection prevention and control (IPC) training for COVID-19 remains an important tool to safeguard health workers. We report on the implementation of evidence-based and role-specific COVID-19 IPC training for health workers in a hospital and public health field setting in Sri Lanka. This article describes the development of training materials, which were contextualized to local needs and targeted to different staffing categories including support staff. It describes development of role- and context-specific IPC guidelines and accompanying training materials and videos during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic.
