Evaluation of the landscape in Posillipo between natural and built environment

    No full text
In this study the hedonic price method is applied to evaluate the externalities diffused by a landscape of extraordinary beauty consisting in natural resources and historic/artistic villas on the coast of Posillipo in Naples. The construction of hedonimetric curves is proposed as an approach to assess economic value of the landscape at Posillipo. The functions related to these curves derive from a plurality of hedonic prices, linked to the panorama and to the quality of historic/artistic villas that arise on the coastal strip between via Posillipo and the sea.In this study the hedonic price method is applied to evaluate the externalities diffused by a landscape of extraordinary beauty consisting in natural resources and historic/artistic villas on the coast of Posillipo in Naples. La liquefazione del padre. Passaggi di stato e trasformazioni educative

The essay analyzes the evolution of the paternal identity in the society and in the family, starting from the key distinction between paternal function and paternal role. We explore the issues of responsible paternity, and the need of a co-responsibility between mother and father to enhance the parenting and promote a positive adult-child relationship. In addition, we underline the necessity that the pedagogical reflection focuses its attention on the unique and irreplaceable bond that ties father and child to investigate not in opposition or for analogy with the maternal-filial one. Finally, it appears particularly urgent the focus on the difficulties that in the flesh fathers live in their liquid fatherhood, trying to understand and forgive its dispersions

Il ruolo educativo del padre nella giovinezza. Interprete e modello di razionalità e di senso nell’epoca delle trasformazioni culturali

The youth is characterized as the most delicate and complex season of the entire existence, placed between adolescence and adult life. At this age rebellion and rejection movements appear. This is a rejection against the society on which the subject, even unconsciously, projects the image of his next and often unwanted adult age. To undertake the path of education is notoriously the noblest and the most complex mission that a man can choose. These are the pedagogical preconditions to save the youth from the nihilism of non-sense, from existential emptiness, from the conforming dynamics of globalization. In this delicate transit age, the father has an educational mission, and a fundamental, and inevitable, role. Although the cultural transformations that animate our time resize and transform the paternal image, this one always remains a model and an example to follow, which continually stimulates, inspires, teaches, sometimes admonishes, the child to grow and emancipate himself, by acquiring, foremost, consciousness of its own inner reality through the conquest of those peculiar characteristics that define his/her own identity

Pour un projet pédagogique de soutien à la paternité. Handicap, inclusion et enfance

Pedagogy and psychoanalysis are mostly characterised by considerable mutual diffidence, forgetting the recognition of substantial affinities, including those of understanding and helping mankind. Psychoanalytic pedagogy – an expression coined by the Swiss protestant minister Oskar Pfister, in 1913 – represents a highly interesting, and in our opinion highly successful, attempt to reconcile psychoanalytic orientations and education, comparing these two disciplines on a level of mutual collaboration and cooperation – care and education, diagnosis and educational project, prevention (reparation) and educational care (caring for...) – rather than comparing it in a field of confrontation and division. It is starting from this conceptual framework of reference that we propose a reflection on the father figure dealing with a child with disabilities. This paper proposes a pedagogical project of preventive education, to support fatherhood, both within the family and Early Childhood Education and Care services

Mucus secretion and collagen fibres integrity are compromised in aspirin induced gastric lesion; protective role of Musa paradisiaca

The study investigated the healing effects of flavonoid-rich fraction of Musa paradisiaca fruit on the gastric corpus of Wistar rats following aspirin induced-gastric lesion. Ninety adult male Wistar rats were assigned to 6 groups. Gastric lesion was induced in groups B, C, D, E and F rats by administration of 400 mg/kg aspirin. After 24 hours, the extract of M. paradisiaca was administered to groups C, D and E at graded doses for 21 days. Group F rats received omeprazole at 1.8 mg/kg daily for 21 days. The rats were sacrificed on days 14, 21 and 28. Gastric tissues were fixed in neutral buffered formalin and processed by paraffin wax embedding. Sections were stained with haematoxylin and eosin, Masson’s trichrome and periodic acid-Schiff’s. There was a gradual restoration of the damaged epithelia in the treatment groups. Histomorphometric studies revealed a significant increase in the total thickness of mucosal layers in the treatment groups when compared with aspirin only group. There was a dose-dependent improvement in staining for mucins in the treatment groups. Also, the treatment groups displayed a progressively positive stain for deposition of collagen. It is concluded that M. paradisiaca significantly attenuated the damaging effects of aspirin on the gastric mucosa, probably via a mechanism involving increase in mucin secretion

A cephalometric morphometric study of age- and gender-dependent shape patterns of the sella turcica

    Get PDF
The sella turcica is an important anatomic and radiologic entity. The shape of the sella turcica varies among normal individuals and can be influenced by local factors. The normal shape of sella turcica has been categorized as circular, oval, and flat, and several variants have been described. The sella turcica increases in size with age, but there is no agreement upon significance of gender-related differences. The main objective of this study is to build up a normative database of the shape of the sella turcica in the Jordanian population with reference to age and gender. For this purpose 509 computed cephalograms: 252 males and 257 females, aged 10 to 40 years old healthy Jordanians were collected and divided into adolescent and adult age groups in both genders. Viewbox 3 software was used to determine width and height, and shape of the sella turcica was accordingly assessed. Variants of shape were also documented. Our results showed that females exhibit higher percentage of overall normal shape but lower relative percentages of oval and flat shapes, as compared with males. In contrast to males, females also show decreasing trend of normal shape as age advances. Females and males change obviously in favor of oval shape. In terms of variants, as individuals advance in age, bridging and irregular dorsum clearly predominate. In terms of width and height, significant differences were evident between adult male group on one hand and adolescent female group and adult female group on the other hand. Between age categories and within male and female groups, sella linear dimensions were significantly different between adolescent and adult age groups. The significant increase of linear parameters of sella turcica across age groups indicates that there is significant degree of growth in sella turcica across the studied age groups. However, this growth does not affect the shape of sella turcica as the shape seems to be preserved across the studied age groups. The obtained data are discussed in terms of age- and gender-related growth and degenerative bone changes

Le nuove generazioni e il Sessantotto. Tra mito e contro-mito

    Get PDF
Sixty-eight is a complex, multi-faceted, ambiguous movement which nevertheless had a strong generational dimension. Starting from this assumption, the article reconstructs the characteristics of the movement and explores its protagonists and its different souls. We critically investigate the consequences of the movement on the cultural, social, political and economic level. The goal is to analyze the relations between the values of the Sixty-eight and the new generations. In order to do this, we investigate the specific features of the Italian Sixty-eight and how it changed the Italian society. More generally, we propose a critical reflection on the link between the diffusion of the values of the Sixty-eight and economic, social and political change. In particular, we explore two critical reading. The first one is Inglehart’s theory of the spread - and perhaps decline - of postmaterialist values and the transformations of politics. The second one is Boltanski and Chiapello’s theory about the raise of the “new spirit of capitalism”, in strict connection with the anti-authoritarian value orientation expressed by the Sixty-eight. In conclusion, we try to outline “affinities and divergences” between the political and social context of Sixty-eight and the contemporary context and to understand how today the new generations, in the context of profound change, contribute to the reinvention of politics
