Rethinking high-tech tools for cultural heritage education. In-training teachers’ reflections on Musetech web app
Get PDFMuseTech is a web app implemented in the frame of DICHE Erasmus + Project. The aim was to train teachers on new methods to develop 4Cs through the use of cultural heritage education and technologies. In this paper we investigate how much in-training teachers are interested in 3.0 web technologies proposed in the MuseTech app, and which kind of opinions and expectations they have about the use of 3.0 technologies for cultural heritage education. Teachers showed a strong interest for high tech cultural heritage educational resources, especially because of the following affordances: ubiquity, multi-sensoriality experience, and immersivity. Through a self-assessment of their skills they declared to develop their research and design skills while stimulating their IT, creativity and critical thinking skills. The MuseTech case has provided teachers with the opportunity to discuss their ideas with peers and to employ technologically tools. Ripensare la tecnologia nell’educazione al patrimonio culturale. Riflessioni di futuri insegnanti sulla web app MuseTechMuseTech è un’applicazione web realizzata nell’ambito del Progetto DICHE Erasmus +, che permette agli insegnanti di essere formati sui nuovi metodi per sviluppare capacità comunicative, di collaborazione, di creatività e di pensiero critico (4Cs) attraverso l’educazione al patrimonio culturale e l’uso delle tecnologie. Abbiamo indagato quanto gli insegnanti in formazione siano interessati alle tecnologie web 3.0 proposte nell’app MuseTech, e che tipo di opinioni e aspettative abbiano circa l’uso di tali tecnologie per l’educazione al patrimonio culturale. Gli insegnanti hanno mostrato un grande interesse specialmente per le caratteristiche di: ubiquità, multi-sensorialità e immersività. Autovalutando le proprie competenze, hanno inoltre dichiarato di aver sviluppato le proprie capacità di ricerca e progettazione stimolando al tempo stesso quelle di IT, creatività e pensiero critico. MuseTech ha inoltre fornito agli insegnanti l’opportunità di discutere le proprie idee con i pari e di utilizzare strumenti tecnologici
Planning, training, and skills assessment in lifelong learning for adult workers
Get PDFThe school system has customarily emphasized a difference between an educational context designed to expand knowledge, and a professional context necessarily focusing on situated competence. This double antithesis of a) knowledge vs. competence and b) school vs. work has led and is always likely to lead to substantial misconceptions with harmful repercussions. Firstly, that inserting a professional context in a school context inexorably leads to skills building. Secondly, the misconception, discussed here, that in lifelong learning, training and assessment have been carried out for some time with an eye on competence. This study examines the recent regulations on the training and certification of skills in formal, informal and non-formal contexts and the guidelines of the main inter-professional funds, which reveal that planning and assessment in lifelong learning in terms of competence, are recent requests, which are triggering the same resistance and critical concerns already seen and experienced in scholastic contexts.Progettare, formare e valutare per competenze nella formazione continua dei lavoratori in servizioNon raramente nel mondo dell’istruzione si è vista delineata una doppia e intrecciata antitesi a) conoscenza vs. competenza + b) scuola vs. lavoro. L’antitesi poggia su misconcezioni notevoli, dalle ricadute potenti, in primis quella che innestare il contesto professionale nel contesto scolastico conduca ineluttabilmente alla costruzione di competenze; in secondo luogo, la misconcezione, qui affrontata, secondo la quale nella formazione continua da tempo si progetti, si formi e si valuti per competenze. Dopo un’analisi internazionale volta ad individuare il profilo tipo del destinatario della formazione continua in Italia, il presente studio esplorativo prende in esame i recenti riferimenti normativi relativi alla formazione e certificazione delle competenze dei contesti informali e non formali e le linee guida dei principali fondi interprofessionali, documentando piuttosto quanto la progettazione e valutazione per competenze, nell’ambito della formazione continua, siano richieste recenti, che stanno innescando le note criticità progettuali già esperite nei contesti scolastici
Seven Ozobot messengers: a story by Buzzati between mathematics and robotics
Get PDFThis paper describes the didactical, methodological and content choices referred to an educational pathway inspired by a story by Dino Buzzati, titled “The seven messengers”. The aim is to deepen and introduce basic mathematical and physical concepts. The idea is not new in the educational research. Nonetheless, the innovative aspect of the proposal is the use of educational robotics to facilitate learning abstract scientific concepts. The experimentation concerns 35 students of the first year of the scientific high school, attending a transversal class of the L. B. Alberti Institute in Valenza (AL) that joined the Liceo Matematico project promoted by the Department of Mathematics G. Peano of the University of Turin. I sette messaggeri Ozobot: un racconto di Buzzati tra matematica e roboticaQuesto articolo descrive le scelte didattiche, metodologiche e contenutistiche di un percorso didattico che prende spunto da un racconto di Dino Buzzati, “I sette messaggeri”, per approfondire e introdurre concetti matematici e fisici di base. L’idea non è nuova nel panorama della ricerca in didattica, ma l’aspetto innovativo introdotto in questa proposta sta nell’uso della robotica educativa per facilitare l’apprendimento di concetti scientifici astratti. La sperimentazione didattica riguarda una classe trasversale dell’Istituto L. B. Effects of crop system and genotype on yield, quality, antioxidants and chemical composition of organically grown leek
Get PDFThe research was carried out in order to assess the effects of nine cultivars in factorial combination with an open field or greenhouse growing on yield, quality indicators, antioxidants and elemental composition of leek in Moscow region. Greenhouse management resulted in higher yield compared to open field cultivation, due to higher mean pseudo-stem weight, and cultivar Giraffe gave the highest production. Pseudo-stem dry matter was better affected by greenhouse cultivation, whereas the content of monosaccharides, total sugars, nitrates, ascorbic acid, and polyphenols was enhanced by open field growing. The cultivars Vesta and Summer breeze showed the highest dry matter and total sugar content, whereas Goliath had the highest antioxidant, selenium, and potassium concentration. Among the mineral elements, K and Mg in pseudo-stems were better affected by greenhouse conditions, whereas Ca attained a higher concentration under open field growing. Get PDFAbstract:A simple procedure for direct embryogenesis without an intervening callus production was developed in valerian (Valeriana officinalis L.) using the leaf segments. Direct somatic embryogenesis were induced using by half-strength MS medium supplemented with 2,4-D (0.5 mg·l-1), glutamic acid (100 mg·l-1), 4% sucrose and 8 g·l-1 agar. Germinated embryo to form plantlets enhanced on MS medium supplemented with NAA (0.1 mg·l-1) and Kin (2 mg·l-1).
