    PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT STRATEGIES IN FINANCIAL, LEARNING AND GROWTH PERSPECTIVES THROUGH IMPLEMENTING THE INTEGRATION OF LEAN WITH SIX SIGMA (DMAIC) CONCEPTS IN THE PACKAGING DRINKING WATER INDUSTRY IN MAKASSAR CITY

    The growth of bottled drinking water is currently growing in line with the increasing needs of the community, however, in its operational activities, several problems are still found. The problems are related to the problem of activities that are not useful (waste) in the aspects of finance, learning, and growth. Based on these problems, in this study, an analysis was carried out by applying the integration of the concept of Lean and Six Sigma. The research method approach is carried out by identifying the types of activities that are not useful (waste) and analyzed by the stages Define, Measure), Improve, and Control with the abbreviation DMAIC analysis. The method of data collection was carried out by direct survey, interview, and questionnaire instrument distribution. The results of this study identify activities that are not useful (waste) in the form of findings of the amount of non-productive work time, low work motivation, low frequency of employee education and training activities, loss of sales turnover due to consumer movement to buy other brands of products, it is still found that the lowest sales volume occurs. Based on the stages of DMAIC analysis, 10 root causes and strategies of waste are found from a financial perspective, and 8 on the aspects of growth and learning

    X Ltd. is a company which is producing hospital equipment with one of its products is supramak bed (patient’s bed). From the observation at the production floor of X Ltd, several non-value added activities are identified, which are components accumulation, reworking a number of products which do not meet the standards, idling operators, and waiting in working process. Based on the results of VSM Current State Map is obtained that total time for value added activities are 96816 seconds and for non-value added activities are 80869 seconds. Based on WAM analysis, the highest waste occurs during waiting time with an index of 19.09%.     Desks and chairs are supporting facilities for learning activities at various school levels, especially elementary schools or mostly known as SD. The Government of Dumai City through the Education authorities provided desks and chairs for learning process. SD 008 Purnama is one of the schools that received desks and chairs as aid. However the desks and chairs provided are not ergonomic in terms of the size of desks and chairs compared to size of student’s body. Somehow the un-ergonomic desks and chairs generate uncomfortable during learning and teaching process. In order to have proper anthropometry data of student of SD 008 Purnama and to be recommended to determine the size of desks and chairs ergonomically is the main purpose of this study.This study discusses the ergonomics of the design of the desks and chairs in elementary schools by using anthropometric data of students in grade 1 and 6. The research method used is quantitative research using the anthropometric approach.  This research was conducted at SD 008 Purnama so that  it can be used as main reference for the size desks and chairs for All elementary schools in the city of Dumai.The results of this study were the recommended Desk and chair sizes based on anthropometric data of students at SD 008 Purnama. Anthropometric data obtained were the high of desk and chair which can be raised and lowered. The high of desk was obtained 42.40 cm-67.35 cm and chair 29.22 cm-42.94 cm. However also obtained the length of desk was 64,57 cm, width 59.02 cm, the high of desk surface from below was 37.72 cm, the length of chair was 43.16 cm, the width of seat base was 36.89 cm, chair back height was 38.55 cm, chair back width was 38.55 cm and the high of footrest for desk and chair was 7.17 c

    Virgin Coconut Oil BUMDes Bumi Lestari has supply chain and demand chain activities. There was an imbalance in oil production which reached 1,000 liters per month with a relatively low sales volume. The aim of this research is to apply demand chain management performance assessment on a Virgin Coconut Oil BUMDes Bumi Lestari, Desa Selemadeg, Kec. Selemadeg, Kab. Tabanan. The method used in this research is performance appraisal with the demand chain operation reference model approach, AHP weighting, OMAX, traffic light system, and SWOT analysis. The results showed that the demand chain management  performance in the BUMDes Bumi Lestari Virgin Coconut Oil business was 6,388 which was in the range of 3.01 ≤ 6,388 ≤ 8.00 (quite good). The results of the SWOT analysis recommend improvements in performance such as maintaining cooperation with suppliers, maintaining cooperation with farmer groups, maintaining the quality of Virgin Coconut Oil, improving customer service, adding workers to manage marketing, improving promotional strategies, optimizing village transportation, differentiating target of fill rates , response time, and average days per schedule change based on customer type, cooperating with the Virgin Coconut Oil derivative product industries, evaluation of customer satisfactions, and cooperating with competitor

    In this era, technology develops rapidly. More adequate and modern technology displaced old technology and indicates high competition. This competition requires changes in the management of a particular business in order to keep up with developments and take advantages of the application of technology. Sinuwun Batik is SME engaged in the production of batik clothes and selling batik clothes. The increasing number of requests and various types of SME make Batik Sinuwun overwhelmed in regulating the supply of raw materials for production, because there is no warehouse record. This study aims to design a website-based application that can help Batik Sinuwun SME to manage warehouse inventory.This inventory application is designed using the Agile Scrum Development method. The stages of making the system begin with collecting the required data by eliciting user needs, this data is the basic data in determining the features of application. This application is made based on websites using the PHP framework CodeIgniter and MySQL as data storage. The application system is tested using the Blackbox Testing method and ISO: 9126.The result of this research is a website application to simplify the management of raw materials in and out of the warehouse so that the latest stock of raw materials can be found, but it can also minimize recording errors due to manual calculations

    THE ALGORITHM OF GOOD PLACEMENT ON THE SHELF BY CONSIDERING THE WEIGHT AND VOLUME OF THE GOODS TO THE CENTRE OF MASS

    This study aims to develop an algorithm for placing goods on warehouse shelves. The process of placing goods in a warehouse is generally placed or arranged in a rack. Placement of goods must be correct to achieve space efficiency and high shelf utilization while maintaining balance on the storage shelf. The placement of items that have various volumes and weights must consider their placement position on the storage rack. Placing goods carelessly and only consider the shelf utilization rate will cause an imbalance. Shelf imbalance will accelerate the damage to storage racks, as well as the risk of collapsing shelves. Best placement of goods, in order to achieve shelf utilization and maintain shelf balance, must consider the weight and volume of goods placed against the total center mass of the rack. The procedure for placing goods on the shelf by considering the total center of mass was developed from research on warehouse layout. The procedure for placing goods in warehouse layout research is carried out on a two-dimensional plane (x-axis and y-axis). Whereas in this study, the placement of goods was carried out by considering the location of the goods in a three-dimensional plane (x, y and z axes). The placement algorithm is designed to place goods with various size (volume and weight) on multi-layer racks (with assumption each layer has same load capacity). This research produces two placing algorithms. The first algorithm focuses on the weight and volume of goods, so the pallets containing with largest volume and weight goods are arranged first and placed on the lowest layer. The second algorithm focuses on the weight of the goods, the pallets containing the heaviest goods will be arranged first on the lowest layer. Both algorithms are simulated using numerical data. The algorithm that focuses on weight (the second algorithm) has a better mass center than the algorithm that focuses on the weight and volume of goods (the first algorithm)

    Lokasi TPA Antang yang berada di sekitar perumahan penduduk, dalam pengoperasiannya melakukan cara open dumping. Sistem ini tidak memperhatikan sanitasi lingkungan, sampah hanya di tumpuk dan dibiarkan membusuk. Sampah hanya ditimbun dan dibiarkan terbuka dengan tanah, di mana sistem pengolahan lindi (leachate) yang tidak maximal dapat mempengaruhi kualitas air tanah dangkal di sekitarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektifitas kitosan dari Cangkang Bekicot dan Biji Asam Jawa dapat menurunkan konsentrasi logam berat tembaga (Cu) pada air sumur di sekitar TPA sampah Antang Makassar. Tahap pembuatan kitosan meliputi deproteinasi, demineralisasi serta deasetilasi. Proses preparasi biji asam meliputi pembersihan biji dari bauh, di hancurkan menggunakan mortal setelah itu di ayak. Penelitian ini menggunakan variasi volume kitosan 10.000 ppm dan volume biji asam yaitu 5 mL, 10 mL, 15 mL, 20 mL dan 25 mL kitosan dan biji asam yang ditambahan kedalam air sumur 500 mL. Kadar Cu pada air sumur sebelum dan sesudah penambahan kitosan dan biji asam diukur menggunakan Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometric (AAS). Penjernihan air sumur di sekitar TPA sampah Antang menggunakan kitosan dan biji asam pada penelitian ini diselesaikan melalui studi literatur dengan menggunakan metode koagulasi dan bahan aku kitosan dan biji asam.     Lereng yang berada di jalan poros Maros-Bone memiliki kondisi massa batuan dengan pelapukan tinggi, kemiringan lereng curam, dan keberadaannya di tepi jalan yang padat dilalui kendaraan menjadikan lereng tersebut berpotensi tidak stabil. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka penelitan ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui sifat fisik dan mekanik lereng serta menghitung faktor keamanan sehingga potensi ketidakstabilan dapat diprediksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan mengambil data secara langsung di lapangan yang di dalamnya dilakukan pengukuran geometri, pengukuran scanline, dan pengambilan conto, conto tersebut selanjutnya melalui tahap preparasi dan pengujian sifat material di laboratorium. Data hasil pengukuran dan pengujian diolah dengan cara perhitungan manual yang menggunakan metode Bishop Disederhanakan untuk menghitung faktor keamanan (FK). Potensi ketidakstabilan diketahui dengan membandingkan rekomendasi nilai faktor keamanan menurut SNI 8460:2017. Perhitungan metode Bishop Disederhanakan dilakukan dengan membuat irisan dan perhitungan ulang atau iterasi hingga mendapatkan nilai FK-F 0,001 serta memenuhi rekomendasi nilai faktor keamanan yang digunakan. Sifat fisik lereng penelitian, yakni bobot isi 12,4 kN/m3 dan sifat mekanik, yakni kohesi 0,6 kPa dan sudut geser dalam 30,45°. Nilai faktor keamanan didapatkan pada iterasi pertama 1,19, kedua 0,92, ketiga 0,96, dan keempat 1,26. Setelah perbandingan nilai FK dengan rekomendasi yang digunakan maka kondisi lereng pada lokasi kestabilan berpotensi tidak stabil karena berada di bawah ambang batas atau rekomendasi SNI 8460:2017. Adanya potensi ketidakstabilan pada lereng tersebut, maka peneliti merekomendasikan lereng diberi perkuatan untuk menjaga stabilitas dan mencegah deformasi pada lereng tersebut

    Iron ore is the second most abundant metal on earth. The characteristics of this iron ore usually consist of iron ore carrier minerals associated with other minerals. One area that has iron ore prospects is the Tanjung area, Bontocani District, Bone Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of iron ore carrier minerals and their associations, mineralization characteristics and paragenesis of iron ore carrier minerals. The data collection technique is carried out directly in the field by taking random samples in the field according to field conditions. Laboratory analysis uses mineragraphic analysis to determine iron ore carrier minerals and their associated minerals and X-Ray Diffraction analysis to determine iron ore carrier minerals that are not identified by mineragraphic analysis. From the results of the study found iron ore carrier minerals magnetite, goethite and hematite and their associated minerals in the form of sulfide minerals in the form of pyrite, covelite and braunite. The iron ore textures found are replacement and intergrowth textures. Paragenesis of mineral deposits formed successively are magnetite, hematite, pyrite, cuprite, braunite and goethite

    Analysis of Reinforcement System (Rock Bolt and Shotcrete) Effect on The Pillars Strength in Underground Mining Using Physical Models Testing in Laboratory

    The effects of reinforcement system on pillars were tested in laboratory, using three types of pillars with different strengths. The tests were performed using the UCS machine, to test pillar without reinforcement, pillar with rock bolt reinforcement, pillar with shotcrete reinforcement and pillar with the combination of both rock bolt and shotcrete reinforcement. Uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) testing aims to determine the effects of the reinforcement system on pillar strength. The results of this study indicate that the reinforcement system on high strength pillars causes a strength increase of 14.93% on pillar with rock bolt reinforcement, 21.45% on pillar with shotcrete reinforcement and 34.67% on pillar with combination of rock bolt and shotcrete reinforcement. On medium strength pillars, reinforcement installation shows a strength increase of 16.27% on pillar with reinforced rock bolt, 19.83% on pillar with reinforced shotcrete and 44.40% on pillar with combination of rock bolt and shotcrete reinforcement. Likewise, on low strength pillars, reinforcement installation causes a strength increase of 13.13% on pillar with reinforced rock bolt, 36.21% on pillar with reinforced shotcrete and 53.85% on pillar with combination of rock bolt and shotcrete reinforcement. The results of laboratory testing and numerical modeling indicate that the increase in strength occurs because the horizontal displacement on the surface of the pillar wall is detained by shotcrete and faceplate on rock bolt, so that the pillar seems to have confining pressure throughout the pillar wall surface, which is called as equivalent confining pressure
