LEAN MANUFACTURING APPROACH USING COST INTEGRATED VALUE STREAM MAPPING TO REDUCE WASTE IN FAKE EYELASHES PRODUCTION FLOOR
Fake eyelashes are made in Indonesia by a variety of industries. There are issues within the company that have an impact on the output. Waste issues in the manufacture of fake eyelashes are the cause of inconsistent production output, such as flaws in the goods, waiting times, and improper processing. A lean manufacturing approach is required to find a solution to the issues that PT. X is experiencing as a result of the data model. The Value Stream Mapping (VSM) method, the Activity Based Costing (ABC) method integration, the Value Stream Analysis Tools (VALSAT) method calculation, the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) method, and then gives recommendations for improvement. The use of continuous flow, task combinations, and the delivery of raw materials once each week are all suggested improvements. When current cost integrated value stream mapping is compared to future cost integrated value stream mapping, the production lead time drops from 0.5 days to 0.36 days, the total value-added cost drops from 2.049 to 1.561, the total non-value-added cost drops from 12.754 to 11.243, and the travel distance drops from 99 meters to 79 meters
A BUSINESS PROCESS MODEL REDESIGN METHOD LEVERAGING DESIGN THINKING: FRAMEWORK DEVELOPMENT AND CASE STUDY APPLICATION
The rapid evolution of information technology has significantly influenced the redesign of business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. The adoption of information systems may necessitate the redesigned business process of a company. This study explores the integration of design thinking methodologies with BPI framework to design a structured design thinking method for business process redesign. The proposed method emphasizes customer-centric design principles and employs root cause analysis, value-added analysis, Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), and flow analysis in different phases. To validate the method, a demonstration using a case study of a redesigned recruitment business process in a talent acquisition division of a company was conducted. The results are that using the method can identify critical weaknesses in the company's existing business process (As-Is), such as inefficiencies in internal hiring, prolonged recruitment cycles, and lack of integration in approval and selection management systems. The proposed process model (To-Be) was designed by separating sourcing from hiring workflows and leveraging integrated Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). Evaluations of the redesigned process through flow analysis and simulation revealed significant efficiency gains: cycle time was reduced by 91.46%, cost reduced by 7.95%, and substantial improvements in average and maximum process times. These findings highlight the potential of combining design thinking with process modeling to enhance organizational workflows and meet dynamic industry demand
THE IMPLEMENTATION OF INDUSTRIAL WORK CULTURE IN VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AS AN EFFORT TO ENHANCE PRACTICAL COMPETENCE AND STUDENT READINESS TO ENTER THE INDUSTRIAL WORLD : SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW
Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) plays a role in preparing a competent and adaptive workforce in the era of globalization. However, the graduates produced have not fully met the qualifications of the workforce as required by the industrial world, therefore one of the strategies in order to improve the quality of graduates is to instill an industrial work culture in the education process to improve their skills so as to increase their competitiveness. This study aims to systematically examine the application of industrial work culture in vocational education as a strategy to improve practical competence and readiness of students to enter the world of work. Through a systematic literature review approach, this study examines both national and international literature relevant to the integration of industrial work culture values with the Vocational High School (SMK) environment. Based on the results of the literature review, industrial work culture has several elements such as the application of 5R/5S (Ringkas, Rapi, Resik, Rawat and Rajin), discipline, responsibility, cooperation (teamwork) can make a positive contribution to strengthening students' character and technical skills. In addition, internship programs also provide contextualized learning experiences that strengthen graduates' work readiness. These findings emphasize the importance of collaboration between educational institutions, industry, and policy makers in designing learning strategies based on industrial work culture to produce vocational graduates who are adaptive and competent amid the dynamic needs of the global industry
MANAGEMENT RISIKO FUNDRAISING PADA PROYEK PEMBANGUNAN KELAS (STUDI KASUS : PONDOK MODERN KURIR LANGIT)
Inventory control problems are crucial issues often faced by heavy equipment distributors that provide various types of spare parts and supporting components. Inaccuracy in managing the availability of goods can hamper after-sales service, which ultimately reduces customer satisfaction levels. Conversely, excess inventory has the potential to cause wasteful storage costs, stockpiling, and increased risk of damage or obsolescence of goods. This study aims to evaluate the inventory control system implemented by the company through the ABC classification approach, considering the determination of safety stock and the application of reorder points as part of the inventory optimization strategy. The results of the analysis show that the application of the ABC classification method can increase the accuracy of demand estimates by up to 84%, which has a positive impact on increasing the company's profitability. However, safety stock management still shows weaknesses, especially in the fast-moving goods category, where the inventory level approaches zero. This condition has the potential to cause delays in delivery to consumers. Therefore, a review and improvement of inventory control policies are needed to ensure the continuity of service and the overall operational efficiency of the company.Pelaksanaan proyek gedung umumnya merupakan proses yang memerlukan waktu yang cukup lama dan melibatkan masalah yang kompleks terlebih dengan pendanaan secara fundraising. Hal ini dapat menyebabkan ketidakpastian yang pada akhirnya menghasilkan berbagai risiko yang mungkin timbul.Pondok pesantren Kurir langit saat ini sedang melaksanakan proyek pembangunan kelas dengan anggaran dana melalui kegiatan fundraising, maka tidak dapat dipungkiri kemungkinan timbul risiko-risiko yang berpotensi mempengaruhi produktivitas, kualitas, dan anggaran biaya proyek. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk membuat identifikasi risiko-risiko dan mengatasi risiko-risiko yang memungkinkan terjadi ketika proyek pembangunan kelas pada pondok pesantren kurir langit menggunakan dana anggaran melalui kegiatan fundraising dengan pendekatan House Of Risk (HOR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 14 kejadian risiko yang teridentifikasi dapat muncul dalam Proyek pembangunan secara fundaraising. Berdasarkan tingkat keparahan risiko, Peristiwa risiko dengan tingkat keparahan yang lebih tinggi yaitu Kurangnya promosi(A3) ditemukan korelasi yang erat karena risiko tersebut yang paling sering dijumpai setiap harinya, yang mana hal tersebut dapat menjadikan pendanaan proyek dapat terhambat. IMPROVING OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY IN BUILDING MATERIAL RETAIL THROUGH HIRA AND JSA
Construction and material shops involve various high-risk activities, making Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) practices essential. This study aims to build a clear picture of existing safety practices and key risks in building material retail requiring attention through structured safety initiatives. Based on the findings, this study provides recommendations to improve OSH practices for workers in these environments. HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) and JSA (Job Safety Analysis) methods were employed to identify potential occupational hazards by defining the characteristics of possible hazards and evaluating associated risks. The findings reveal several unsafe acts and conditions from various working process and activity leading to potential hazards. A total of eight potential hazards were identified with HIRA uncovering one extreme risk, three very high risks, three high risks, and one medium risk. Among these potential hazards, manual handling posing the highest risk, followed by ergonomic issues, dust exposure, and contact with sharp objects where all classified as very high risks. To mitigate these risks, by using JSA, a combination of engineering controls, administrative measures, and PPE use was recommended in order to improve material handling, workstation conditions, and safety equipment usage. These recommendations serve as the foundation for implementing a proper OSH management system
COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF MOVING AVERAGE AND DOUBLE EXPONENTIAL SMOOTHING METHODS FOR FORECASTING ASTM A252 GR 2 PIPE DEMAND AT PT XYZ
Raw material inventory planning is a crucial aspect in the manufacturing industry to ensure smooth production and cost efficiency. However, PT XYZ has not implemented a forecasting method in its raw material planning system, so that procurement decisions are still reactive to actual demand. This study aims to analyze and compare forecasting methods using Double Exponential Smoothing (DES) and Moving Average (MA) to determine the most accurate method in projecting raw material needs for Non-API spec pipe products, type ASTM A252 GR 2 at KT 24 PT XYZ. The data used is historical demand data, which is then analyzed using POM-QM for Windows software. The results of the analysis show that the Moving Average method with a two-month period (MA-2) has the smallest Mean Squared Error (MSE), which is 182067, and a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) value of 1.24%, which indicates a higher level of accuracy than other methods. Thus, the MA-2 method is recommended to be implemented in PT XYZ's raw material planning system to improve production efficiency and reduce the risk of excess or shortage of stock. For further research, it is recommended to develop a forecasting model by considering external factors such as market trends and seasonality, and integrating machine learning or hybrid forecasting methods to improve prediction accuracy. In addition, the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)-based system with a forecasting module can also be a solution for long-term planning efficiency
Analisis Rancangan Tata Ruang Toko dalam Bisnis Retail Indomaret Plus Padasuka Ciomas Bogor
Resilience in the face of delays in the distribution of humanitarian logistics is a crucial aspect in post-disaster response. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect the resilience of disaster victims in the context of logistics delays using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. This research model adopts three main constructs, namely Sense of Mastery (SoM), Sense of Relatedness (SoR), and Emotional Reactivity (ER), which are assumed to contribute to individual resilience (RES). Data was collected through a questionnaire-based survey of individuals who had experienced delays in the distribution of humanitarian aid. The results of the analysis show that SoM and SoR have a significant positive influence on resilience. In contrast, ER has a negative relationship with RES, which means that the higher a person's level of emotional reactivity, the lower their level of resilience in the face of delays in help. In the initial model, there are several indicators showing low outer loading values so they are excluded from the final model, because they do not contribute significantly to other variables. After refining the model, the reliability results show that the remaining constructs have good validity and reliability values. Strong R-square values for all endogenous variables (SoM = 0.962, SoR = 0.894, ER = 0.981, RES = 0.944) confirm that the model has high predictive ability in explaining resilience in the context of delays in the distribution of human logistics. MILLED CASSAVA PRODUCTION CAPACITY MODEL THROUGH MACHINE EFFECTIVENESS ANALYSIS
The very high demand for the tapioca flour industry causes good quality and quantity tapioca flour. This condition causes the tapioca flour SMIs have to manage production activities to meet the needs of the industry. The flour production process cannot be separated from the cassava milling machine effectiveness. Based on the results of the milling machine analysis for one year, the availability = 65,16%, performance = 53.62%, Quality Rate = 89.60% and OEE = 31.88%. Based on the OEE value and the amount of production, the regression equation model is obtained, namely ground cassava (Kg) = 5155 + 11037 OEE with Determination value (R2) = 94,8 %. This regression model is used as the basis for determining the ideal production capacity of ground cassava in SMIs. According to Seiichi Nakajima's standard ideal OEE, which is 85%, the ideal production capacity of ground cassava in SMIs is 14,536 kg/month based on the regression model.
ERGONOMICS AND HUMAN IN FOCUS: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF RECENT DEVELOPMENTS
This systematic review investigates the incorporation of human factors and ergonomics into work system design, focusing on their effects on productivity and job satisfaction. By examining selected Q1 articles from the last five years, the review demonstrates that ergonomic interventions greatly reduce musculoskeletal disorders and improve employee engagement. These benefits arise from reduced physical strain and increased employee autonomy. Although awareness of ergonomic principles is on the rise, there remains inconsistency in their application across organizations. The review also discusses the role of modern technology, such as wearable devices, in advancing ergonomic practices, while noting potential challenges in adaptation. The findings highlight the critical need for organizations to implement comprehensive ergonomic strategies to create healthier and more productive work environments. Ongoing research and practical application of these principles are essential for developing effective workplace solutions that prioritize employee well-being
OPTIMASI RUTE DISTRIBUSI UNTUK PENGHEMATAN BIAYA DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE SAVING MATRIX DI PT. BANGUN PUTRA KARAWANG STORAGE SUKANDA DJAYA
The world of education, in this case universities, can be seen as service providers, while students are seen as service users. Students are the most important element for educational institutions, listening to whether the services provided are in accordance with their expectations. Education payment services or what is often referred to as SPP/BPP are financial transactions or payments made by students with the aim of supporting educational development activities. The purpose of this researchis to assist tertiary institutions in improving the quality-of-service quality by analyzing the priority of improvements that must be carried out immediately along with the corrective steps. Based on theresearch results, it is known that the proposed service system specifications for tertiary institutions are in accordance with the needs of students. some of the attributes proposed are(1) Payment procedures, (2) The concept of payment with experience benefits, (3) Service systems, and (4) Service response.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan rute distribusi dan mengurangi biaya operasional di PT. Bangun Putra Karawang menggunakan metode Saving Matrix. Studi ini menggabungkan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif, dilakukan di warehouse distribusi PT. Bangun Putra Karawang Storage Sukanda Djaya selama periode Januari hingga Maret 2024. Metode pengumpulan data meliputi observasi langsung, wawancara dengan supervisor distribusi, dan analisis dokumen perusahaan. Pengolahan data dilakukan melalui perhitungan jarak tempuh, identifikasi matriks penghematan, alokasi permintaan mitra ke kendaraan, dan perbandingan rute awal dengan rute hasil optimasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode Saving Matrix berhasil mengurangi jumlah rute dari 20 menjadi 8, menurunkan total jarak tempuh sebesar 53,7% dari 1.611,6 km menjadi 746,6 km per siklus distribusi. Optimasi ini menghasilkan penghematan biaya distribusi sebesar 51,57%, dari Rp 4.036.189 menjadi Rp 1.954.735 per siklus. Selain itu, utilisasi kapasitas kendaraan meningkat signifikan, mendekati kapasitas maksimal 22 pallet pada mayoritas rute. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa metode Saving Matrix efektif dalam mengoptimalkan rute distribusi, mengurangi biaya operasional, dan meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan sumber daya di PT. Bangun Putra Karawang. Hasil ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi manajemen logistik dan strategi operasional perusahaan dalam jangka panjang
