Protocolo de criterios para el desarrollo de programas de justicia restaurativa en materia de responsabilidad penal para adolescentes (Colombia)
Este estudio tiene como objetivo construir un protocolo de criterios para la aplicación de principios de justicia restaurativa para la atención de casos de responsabilidad penal con adolescentes infractores colombianos de acuerdo con la Ley 1098 de 2006. El protocolo es el producto de un trabajo conceptual y un ejercicio metodológico aplicado a un proceso de recolección, sistematización y análisis de diferentes fuentes información, basado en un diseño de investigación de tipoexploratorio- descriptivo que contó con tres fuentes principales de información. La primera, porgrupos de discusión compuesta por profesionales del Sistema de Responsabilidad Penal para adolescentes (SRPA) en las cinco zonas geográficas de Colombia (Andina, Atlántica, Pacífica, Amazonía y Orinoquía). La segunda fuente por los resultados del estudio sobre los criterios de un programa piloto de justicia restaurativa para atender casos de responsabilidad penal en adolescentes en CESPA de la ciudad de Bogotá y municipios de Cundinamarca (Colombia). La terceray última fuente de información, compuesta por las buenas prácticasde justicia restaurativa de países de América Latina y Centro América. Para la categorización y el análisis de los resultados obtenidos a través de los grupos de discusión se utilizó el programa de Atlas Ti. Los resultados dejan ver las categorías de orden tanto deductivo como inductivo que permitieron describir, analizar e interpretar los criterios pertinentes para incidir en la política criminal que muestra necesidades, limitaciones,avances y oportunidades para el desarrollo de principios y programas de justicia restaurativa en el SRPA en Colombia. Spatial memory training counteracts hippocampal GIRK channel decrease in the transgenic APPSw,Ind J9 Alzheimer’s disease mouse model
G-protein-gated inwardly rectifying potassium (GIRK) channels are critical determinants of neuronal excitability. They have been proposed as potential targets to restore excitatory/inhibitory balance in acute amyloidosis models, where hyperexcitability is a hallmark. However, the role of GIRK signaling in transgenic mice models of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is largely unknown. Here, we study whether progressive amyloid-ß (Aß) accumulation in the hippocampus during aging alters GIRK channel expression in mutant ß-amyloid precursor protein (APPSw,Ind J9) transgenic AD mice. Additionally, we examine the impact of spatial memory training in a hippocampal-dependent task, on protein expression of GIRK subunits and Regulator of G-protein signaling 7 (RGS7) in the hippocampus of APPSw,Ind J9 mice. Firstly, we found a reduction in GIRK2 expression (the main neuronal GIRK channels subunit) in the hippocampus of 6-month-old APPSw,Ind J9 mice. Moreover, we found an aging effect on GIRK2 and GIRK3 subunits in both wild type (WT) and APPSw,Ind J9 mice. Finally, when 6-month-old animals were challenged to a spatial memory training, GIRK2 expression in the APPSw,Ind J9 mice were normalized to WT levels. Together, our results support the evidence that GIRK2 could account for the excitatory/inhibitory neurotransmission imbalance found in AD models, and training in a cognitive hippocampal dependent task may have therapeutic benefits of reversing this effect and lessen early AD deficits
Rare Diseases in the Educational Field: Knowledge and Perceptions of Spanish Teachers
Background: Education plays a fundamental role in everyone’s wellbeing. That means it is essential to provide quality inclusive activities to ensure equity and equality of opportunity in order to shape a cohesive, democratic, healthy society. Methods: In this study we focus on how inclusive educational practice addresses students with rare diseases, looking at teachers’ knowledge and opinions in this regard. A questionnaire was administered to 574 teachers who taught in various stages of non-university education to determine their knowledge and opinions about different dimensions: conceptualization, legislation, intervention, and diagnosis. Results: The results suggested various ideas for improvement in pursuit of positive, real inclusion, such as the need to improve teachers’ knowledge and understanding of these students’ characteristics and potential, with widespread specific training being urgently needed. Conclusions: in summary, students’ rights to education without discrimination is a basic premise of an educational system, leading to the need for a complete educational response that allows each student to develop as a person
Influence of current density and inlet gas flow in the treatment of gaseous streams polluted with benzene by electro-absorption
This paper is focused on the evaluation of the electrochemically assisted absorption process (electro-absorption) as a treatment for volatile organic compounds contained in polluted air flows. Benzene degradation was used to test the technology, using a system consisting of a packed absorption column and a single compartment electrochemical cell equipped with boron-doped diamond (BDD) as anode and steel-steal as cathode. The influence of inlet gas flow rate and operation current intensity was evaluated by monitoring the concentration of benzene and intermediates both, in the liquid absorbent / electrolyte and in the outlet gaseous stream. Results show that steady-state values reached, during benzene absorption and electro-absorption, increase when the inlet gas flow rises from 1.5 to 6.0 L h−1 and that the bare absorption process retains benzene only up to this steady-state value of the liquid and then, it has no effect on the removal of benzene. Concentrations of benzene in the absorbent/electrolyte decreases with the increase in the current density during electrochemically assisted processes. As well, mineralization was found to be very important, as expected because of the very low concentrations of benzene into the liquid and the very high efficiencies of the electrolytic degradation with BDD electrodes, and benzoquinone and carboxylic acids were identified as the primary intermediates. These species were not detected in the outlet gas flow. The decrease in the concentration and mass flow of benzene in the outlet streams confirms that electro-absorption is a functional electrochemical application to remove benzene from gaseous streams. When current density rises (10, 50 and 100 mA cm−2), the degradation percentage increases. The values obtained were 43, 61 and 75% with 1,5 L h−1 of inlet gas flow and 10, 25 and 37 % with 6 L h−1. However, the degradation percentage relative to the energy consumption decreases when the current density rises. Results were, correspondingly, 24.7, 4.2 and 2.2 % kWh−1 with 1,5 L h−1 of inlet gas flow and 7.1, 2.1 and 1.4 % with 6 L h−1. This energy efficiency trend was explained because mass transport becomes the bottleneck in the oxidation of diluted organic solutions. These results contribute to expand the understanding of the mechanisms involved in the electro-absorption of benzene and recommend for further research in the topic, due to the relevance of the treatment results.Este artículo se centra en la evaluación del proceso de absorción electroquímicamente asistido (electroabsorción) como tratamiento de compuestos orgánicos volátiles contenidos en flujos de aire contaminado. La degradación del benceno se utilizó para probar la tecnología, utilizando un sistema que consiste en una columna de absorción empacada y una celda electroquímica de un solo compartimento equipada con diamante dopado con boro (BDD) como ánodo y acero como cátodo. La influencia del caudal de gas de entrada y la intensidad de la corriente de operación se evaluó monitoreando la concentración de benceno e intermedios tanto en el líquido absorbente/electrolito como en la corriente gaseosa de salida. Los resultados muestran que los valores de estado estacionario alcanzados, durante la absorción de benceno y la electroabsorción, aumentan cuando el flujo de gas de entrada aumenta de 1,5 a 6,0 L h −1y que el proceso de absorción simple retiene benceno solo hasta este valor de estado estacionario del líquido y luego, no tiene efecto en la eliminación de benceno. Las concentraciones de benceno en el absorbente/electrolito disminuyen con el aumento de la densidad de corriente durante los procesos asistidos electroquímicamente. Además, se encontró que la mineralización era muy importante, como se esperaba debido a las concentraciones muy bajas de benceno en el líquido y las eficiencias muy altas de la degradación electrolítica con electrodos BDD, y se identificaron la benzoquinona y los ácidos carboxílicos como los intermediarios primarios. Estas especies no se detectaron en el flujo de gas de salida. La disminución de la concentración y el flujo másico de benceno en las corrientes de salida confirma que la electroabsorción es una aplicación electroquímica funcional para eliminar el benceno de las corrientes gaseosas. Cuando aumenta la densidad de corriente (10, 50 y 100 mA cm−2 ), el porcentaje de degradación aumenta. Los valores obtenidos fueron 43, 61 y 75 % con 1,5 L h -1 de caudal de gas de entrada y 10, 25 y 37 % con 6 L h -1 . Sin embargo, el porcentaje de degradación relativo al consumo de energía disminuye cuando aumenta la densidad de corriente. Los resultados fueron, correspondientemente, 24,7, 4,2 y 2,2 % kWh- 1 con 1,5 L h - 1 de caudal de gas de entrada y 7,1, 2,1 y 1,4 % con 6 L h- 1. Esta tendencia de eficiencia energética se explica porque el transporte masivo se convierte en el cuello de botella en la oxidación de soluciones orgánicas diluidas. Estos resultados contribuyen a ampliar la comprensión de los mecanismos involucrados en la electroabsorción del benceno y recomiendan para futuras investigaciones en el tema, debido a la relevancia de los resultados del tratamiento

Este artículo analiza la adaptación cinematográfica de la novela 59 Degrees and Raining: The Story of Perdita Durango, de Álex la Iglesia, contextualizando la literatura de Barry Gifford, su imaginario cinematográfico, su relación con la industria y con otros directores.Se consideran los referentes sobre los que se sistematiza el argumento del libro y su adaptación, así como los nexos, influencias y omisiones en los que se fundamenta el trasvase. El trabajo concluye con la correlación postmodernista de ambos relatos, en los que se articula la cita como una rememoración de la imagen cinematográfica en el imaginario colectivo.
This article discusses the film adaptation of the novel 59 Degrees and Raining: The Story of Perdita Durango by Álex de la Iglesia, contextualizing Barry Gifford’s literature, his cinematographic ima-ginary, his relationship with indus-try, and with other directors. We consider the references on which the book’s plot and the adaptation are based, as well as we also consider links, influences and omissions on which the film is founded. The article concludes with the postmo-dernist correlation of both stories, in which the quotation is articulated as a reminisce of the cinematographic image in the social imaginary
Solid phase extraction prior to non-aqueous capillary electrophoresis with ultraviolet detection as a valuable strategy for therapeutic drug monitoring of cabozantinib
Solid phase extraction (SPE) prior to non-aqueous capillary electrophoresis (NACE) with ultraviolet detection was used for the first time for the determination of cabozantinib (CBZ), the main drug used for the treatment of metastatic renal cancer, in urine. SPE was carried out in commercial C18 cartridges loaded with 8 mL of urine. Tamoxifen (TAM) was added as internal standard. After removal of the matrix with 8 mL of phosphate buffer (pH 7.0; 10 mM), 7 mL of MeOH:H2O (30:70; v/v) and 0.5 mL of MeOH, CBZ and TAM were eluted with 1.5 mL of methanol. The eluate was evaporated to dryness and reconstituted in background electrolyte (BGE). The CE method was carried out in a fused silica capillary (30 cm × 75 µm i.d.) at 19 °C at 10 kV with a BGE consisting of ammonium acetate (pH 7.0; 8 mM) containing 3 % acetic acid (v/v) in methanol.The preconcentration factor achieved was 5.3, and the limits of detection and quantification were 3.7 and 12 µg/L in urine, respectively. Linearity was observed up to 950 µg/L. Intra-day precision at 20, 400, and 850 µg/L of CBZ (n = 8) was below 10 % in peak areas. As for inter-day precision, no statistical differences were found in two consecutive days, according to the Snedecor “F” test (p > 0.05). Recovery studies in spiked urine samples ranged from 91.4 to 116.6 %.The present method was applied to samples from a patient under treatment with CBZ for metastatic renal cancer as an alternative to the current strategies for therapeutic drug monitoring
