The 15-Minute Case Conceptualization: Mastering the Pattern-focused Approach
Once understood as useful but optional, case conceptualization is now considered essential and one of the most important of all clinical skills and competencies. As clinicians look for resources to assist in learning and mastering this competency, they must choose among different case conceptualization approaches considering those that are both clinically effective and clinician friendly. A truly clinically effective approach explains and guides treatment, and most importantly, predicts challenges and obstacles that are likely to arise over the course of treatment. Most approaches emphasize explaining and guiding treatment, but seldom include third function which helps anticipate likely challenges, which if not proactively addressed, are likely to result in therapy interference or premature termination. Research shows that such case conceptualization is essential in determining the course and overall effectiveness of therapy. This essential task can be completed in as little as fifteen minutes. A truly clinician-friendly approach is one that is quick to use and easy to master. The Implementation of Artificial Intelligence in University Classrooms: Perspectives and Applications
The incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) within university classrooms has emerged as both a revolutionary prospect and a controversial subject, resulting in diverse viewpoints among academic faculty. This paper examines the intricate landscape of AI’s implementation in higher education, focusing on the differing attitudes of professors and its application in various fields. While some educators advocate for AI as an innovative tool that enhances learning experiences and optimizes educational methodologies, others argue that it may undermine critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills, leading to an ongoing debate about its appropriate role in academia. In the context of certain disciplines such as animation and design, AI has been seamlessly integrated for years, demonstrating significant advancements in creative processes and efficiency gains. The adaptability and acceptance of AI in these domains contrast with the cautious approach observed in more traditional fields of study. This panel will discuss the varied viewpoints on AI across disciplines in higher education, approaches in the implementation of AI in the classroom, and future implications of AI usage in the modern world
Monetary Wisdom: Can Yoking Religiosity (God) and the Love of Money (Mammon) in Performance and Humane Contexts Inspire Honesty? The Matthew Effect in Religion
Religion inspires honesty. The love of money incites dishonesty. Religious and monetary values apply to all religions. We develop a formative theoretical model of monetary wisdom, treat religiosity (God) and the love of money (mammon), as two yoked antecedents—competing moral issues (Time 1), and frame the latent construct in good barrels (performance or humane contexts, Time 2), which leads to (dis)honesty (Time 3). We explore the direct and indirect paths and the model across genders. Our three-wave panel data (411 participants) show that religious and monetary values are negatively correlated. Directly, religiosity consistently curbs dishonesty; surprisingly, the love of money has no impact on dishonesty. In the performance context, the two mediation effects reduce dishonesty. Across genders, this mediation effect is nonsignificant for males but significantly excites females\u27 honesty. In the humane context, the two mediation effects are nonsignificant. Across genders, for the love of money, males passively curb dishonesty by omission, and females actively engage in honesty by commission. Decision-makers must challenge people\u27s moral issues, frame them in good barrels, and help people become good apples, choice architects, and moral and ethical decision-makers, promoting the Matthew effect in religion. We offer practical implications to individuals and organizations
Global Supply Chain Disruptions and Their Economic Implications for the Fashion Industry: A Comprehensive Analysis
The global fashion industry has experienced profound disruptions since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which exposed the fragility of global supply chains. Compounded by geopolitical conflicts, labor movements, trade sanctions, inflationary pressures, and climate change, these disruptions have had a cascading effect on the various sectors of fashion, including design, manufacturing, logistics, and retail. This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the economic and operational impacts these disruptions have had on the fashion industry, highlighting the sharp decline in profitability, shifts in consumer behavior, demand forecasting inaccuracies, and severe inventory imbalances. Additionally, it explores the diverse reactions across the industry, from production shutdowns and delayed shipments to surplus inventory and mismatched product offerings.
Mitigation strategies adopted by key players—ranging from nearshoring production to leveraging digital platforms for forecasting and inventory management—are examined in detail, as are the varying degrees of success among different sectors. Furthermore, this paper analyzes how long-standing issues such as geopolitical tensions, inflation, energy price volatility, and climate-related disruptions have exacerbated supply chain vulnerabilities. The study concludes by offering insights into emerging resilience strategies, including supply chain diversification, sustainability initiatives, and technological innovations, to ensure the industry\u27s adaptability in an era of continuous uncertainty
Pros and Cons of Retirement: Financial Literacy and Its Implications for Wealth Management
This article explores the interconnected roles of financial literacy, wealth management, and retirement planning in shaping financial well‑being. While previous research has examined financial literacy extensively, the combined impact of financial literacy and wealth management on retirement outcomes remains less explored. Using a dataset that includes lifestyle and wellbeing data (Kaggle.com 2021), which collected over 12,000 survey responses between 2015 and 2021, we employ a partial least‑squares path model (PLS‑PM) to analyze the relationships between financial literacy, wealth management, and retirement. Our findings suggest that while financial literacy alone has a significant impact on retirement, incorporating wealth management further enhances retirement outcomes. The results underscore the importance of financial literacy across all population segments, and highlight the role of finance professionals in promoting effective wealth management. Ultimately, our research adds to the growing literature, demonstrating that financial literacy and wealth management together can significantly improve retirement well‑being
Environmentally Friendly Paints Yield Significantly Different IR Spectra Over Time
Forensic comparison of paint chips is an essential type of trace evidence analysis. Standard paint chip analysis for chemical composition is performed rapidly using Attenuated Total Reflectance Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (ATR-FT-IR). This process allows an examiner to determine the chemical “fingerprint” of the paint and identify the major components used to manufacture the paint, including the binders. Paint chips can also be compared to one another based on these spectra. While this methodology is regularly applied by the forensic science community for standard paint coatings as well as degraded paint samples, the advent of environmentally friendly paints has the potential to pose a new challenge to examiner interpretation. These environmentally friendly paints are advertised as being able to absorb volatile organic compounds from the air in the room in which they are painted. If these volatile organic compounds are being absorbed, this could potentially impact the infrared spectra produced in the analysis. This study examined two brands of these paints: SuperPaint® Interior Acrylic with Air Purifying Technology, by Sherwin Williams®, which claims it “helps reduce volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from potential sources like carpet, cabinets, and fabrics” and four different paint types by ECOS Paint®, which claims their paints include “a molecular sieve which is designed to both stop harmful volatile organic compounds from being released into the air and to trap them as they float though a room”. These paints were chosen due to their statement of absorbing and trapping volatile organic compounds. If these paints are absorbing volatile organic compounds, the expectation is that we would observe changes to the infrared spectra produced over time. Each paint was applied in two coats onto wooden craft sticks generating five replicate sticks. ATR-FT-IR spectroscopy was performed on all sticks in replicate starting at week zero to produce an initial spectrum, through 69 weeks. Spectra were normalized and eight spectral peaks were chosen to obtain absorbances. Absorbances analyzed with a single-factor ANOVA showed there was a significant difference in peak intensities over time (p \u3c 0.05). Additionally, plotting peak intensities over time shows that these changes are not predictable depending on the brand of paint. These findings demonstrate the importance of being aware of societal changes impacting paint formulations. Environmentally friendly paints, such as these, have been increasing in the marketplace and forensic chemists need to be aware of how they can impact their analysis

Project-Based Learning further bridges academic and professional environments, equipping students with critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills that employers increasingly value. In addition, the Social Change Model of Leadership Development (SCM) is highlighted as a framework for cultivating socially responsible leaders. Through collaborative projects and ethical decision-making scenarios, students learn to lead with empathy, adaptability, and a commitment to positive social change. The research underscores the importance of experiential learning, student empowerment, and collaborative approaches in preparing future leaders, emphasizing the need for business education to continually adapt to the complexities of the global landscape

Become a changemaker! During our talk, we will discuss the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). As the United Nations details, these 17 SDGs provide a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet. It is an urgent call for action for all citizens and, by discussing the SDGs and their targets, we can conceptualize how we can each apply the targets to our everyday lives.
