    Get PDF
The purpose of this research is to investigate internet service quality in the KRI and to explore its effect on customer approval. The idea of this research came into existence from the fact that internet is quite new to the KRI customers, but it is also a sector which shows great development in the region and tends to get more common as time passes. The research at hand evaluates the relationship of Internet service provider's (ISP) quality aspects with the Trust, perception of value, and commitment. The collected data was obtained through an online survey aimed at academic scholars in the KRI mostly. The sample consisted of 444 individuals. The study focuses on the customer's usage of different ISPs and their overall perceived value, trust, and commitment to the ISP. An ISP's service quality is affected by these four factors: (1) network quality, (2) customer service, (3) information quality and (4) security and privacy. It can be noticed from the results that most factors affect the perceived Value, Trust, and Commitment. However, only security and privacy have a considerable positive impact on Trust. When it comes to Customer Value, only Network Quality has a significant positive impact, and Information Quality is the only factor which is directly correlated to Customer Commitment

As long as students are actively engaged in the learning process the problems would be minimized and teacher would not spend too much energy for managing class. That is why the subject teacher’s main role is inspiring willingness and trying to involve all the students into the learning process actively. Considering the importance of teaching mathematics, teachers have to develop pedagogical strategies (recognizing of obstacles that exist in the students’ mathematics learning process) and help students to develop their mental faculties and reasoning abilities by improving mastery approach for learning mathematics. In order to boost mathematics-efficacy and outcome expectations choosing mastery-oriented classroom management strategies is very essential since these strategies influence the amount and the quality of students’ engagement as well as mathematics learning and students’ persistence to continue learning when tasks are challenging. Therefore the main purpose of this study is to present the importance of fostering mastery goal orientation in classroom management. Additionally in order to foster students’ mastery goal adaptation, critical classroom management strategies based on modern motivational theories that are especially important for defining the success of teaching and learning mathematics will be offered

    Get PDF
The use of literature was the ultimate goal in the language classroom when the grammar-translation method was popular in language teaching. In the 1960s and 1970s the use of literature in the language classroom lost its prestige because the grammar-translation method fell into disuse. The widespread assumption was that literature was complex hence only linguistically competent learners were able to understand it. However, in the 1970s and 1980s literature emerged as a contributing force in language teaching and since then it has been used in the language classroom to promote language proficiency development. Although its incorporation in language teaching is still a matter of debate today, literature has the potential to foster language learning. Literature is a potentially worthwhile source to help learners with language development, cultural improvement and personal growth. This article explores the benefits of using literature in the language classroom. More specifically, the article focuses on the contributions of literature to language acquisition

Motivation is an indispensable reason in fostering student achievement. It should be noted that motivation has the key role in establishing a platform in which learning is permanent. Both extrinsic and intrinsic motivations have the potential to encourage students to strive for learning. Although the use of external rewards in the classroom has been criticized for diminishing intrinsic motivation of students, quite many studies suggest that the implementation of external rewards has no detrimental influence on students. Get PDF
Despite the implementation of various motivation theories suggested by researchers, the achievements of students in mathematics have persistently been poor, hence there is a great need to explore the best ways to increase students’ achievement in mathematics. The goals that students have in the process of study are essential for reaching success. Thus, the aim of this study is to investigate the influence of the achievement goal motivation theory on students’ learning outcomes in mathematics. Three types of goal orientation were specified in this study, which are mastery-learning goal orientation (MG), performance-approach goal orientation (PAG), and performance-avoidance goal orientation (PAvG). The research asserts that possessing mastery-learning goal motivation has a more positive impact on university students’ academic achievement than the performance approach goal orientation, while the performance-avoidance goal orientation has a negative impact. This research is a quantitative study and experiment. Experimental study was held in 2015/2016 academic year at private Suleyman Sah University in Turkey with 39 students majoring in Business and Administrative Science, which would define, whether, as a result of teaching, following the offered model, the students of the experimental group would change their learning goals and improve their academic achievement. The results show that mastery-learning goal orientation is the best fit for achievement in mathematics at university. The experiment held according to the model developed by the researcher revealed that the model was really effective and helped many students who were initially performance- approach or performance-avoidance goal-oriented to change their goals into mastery goals
