Conformational investigations on three large dinuclear triple helicates by single crystal X-ray diffraction
Three new dinuclear triple helicates were synthesised using a ditopic semi-rigid pyridylylimine ligand L, separated by a diphenoxy-biphenol spacer providing considerable length to the backbone. L and the new large dinuclear triple helicate complexes [Fe2L3](BF4)4 (1), [Ni2L3](BF4)4 (2) and [Zn2L3](BF4)4 (3) have been characterised in solution and solid state. Single crystal X-ray diffraction was used to investigate overall complex ion shape as the coordination sphere was modulated by metal ion selection. Small differences in complex shape were seen to arise due to subtle distortions in coordination sphere environments. This study sheds light on how the length and twist of dinuclear triple helicates can be tuned by selection of coordinating metal ion

MIGHTEE-H I : H I galaxy properties in the large-scale structure environment at z ∼ 0.37 from a stacking experiment
We present the first measurement of H I mass of star-forming galaxies in different large scale structure environments from a blind survey at z ∼ 0.37. In particular, we carry out a spectral line stacking analysis considering 2875 spectra of colour-selected star-forming galaxies undetected in H I at 0.23 < z < 0.49 in the COSMOS field, extracted from the MIGHTEE-H I Early Science data cubes, acquired with the MeerKAT radio telescope. We stack galaxies belonging to different subsamples depending on three different definitions of large-scale structure environment: local galaxy overdensity, position inside the host dark matter halo (central, satellite, or isolated), and cosmic web type (field, filament, or knot). We first stack the full star-forming galaxy sample and find a robust H I detection yielding an average galaxy H I mass of MH I = (8.12 ± 0.75) à 109 M&odot; at ∼11.8σ. Next, we investigate the different subsamples finding a negligible difference in MH I as a function of the galaxy overdensity. We report an H I excess compared to the full sample in satellite galaxies (MH I = (11.31 ± 1.22) à 109, at ∼10.2σ) and in filaments (MH I = (11.62 ± 0.90) à 109. Conversely, we report non-detections for the central and knot galaxies subsamples, which appear to be H I-deficient. We find the same qualitative results also when stacking in units of H I fraction (fH I). We conclude that the H I amount in star-forming galaxies at the studied redshifts correlates with the large-scale structure environment
Women's experiences of being assisted by two midwives during the active second stage of labour : secondary outcomes from the Oneplus trial
Background: ‘Collegial Midwifery Assistance’ (CMA) is a clinical practice aiming to reduce severe perineal trauma (SPT) during childbirth. This practice involves two midwives being present during the active second stage of labour rather than one, which is the case in standard care. The effectiveness of CMA was evaluated in the Oneplus trial and a 30% reduction in SPT was shown.
Aim: The aim was to investigate the experience of women who received the CMA intervention in the trial and to explore factors influencing their experiences.
Methods: A cohort study using data from the Oneplus trial and a one-month postpartum follow-up questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, univariable and multivariable logistic regression analyses were performed.
Results: A total of 1050 women who received the CMA intervention responded to the questionnaire. Of these, 35.8% reported that they strongly agreed with feeling safe during the second stage of labour and 42.6% were inclined to have an additional midwife present at a subsequent birth. The intervention was favourably received by women who experienced fear of birth, who were non-native Swedish speakers, and had lower educational attainment. Furthermore, women were more positive towards CMA the longer the intervention lasted.
Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that the CMA intervention is accepted well by women and can be safely implemented into standard care. The duration of the CMA intervention was an important factor that influenced women's experiences and should be used to guide future practice

Belief in conspiracy theories that differ in evil intentions : correlations with anger and other traits
The present research extended past correlational research (Harmon-Jones & Szymaniak, 2023) by manipulating the mediator – evil perceptions – in the relationship between trait anger and conspiracy beliefs. This past research revealed that trait anger correlated positively with conspiracy beliefs and with perceiving conspirators to have more evil intentions. Moreover, perceived evil intentions statistically mediated the relationship between trait anger and conspiracy beliefs. The current research first created a questionnaire to manipulate the evil intentions associated with relatively novel and unknown conspiracy theories (Study 1). Then, trait anger and other personality characteristics were measured along with beliefs in the low- and high-evil conspiracy theories (Study 2). Results revealed that trait anger correlated positively with beliefs in both types of conspiracy theories. Moreover, trait anger continued to predict belief in high-evil conspiracy theories when statistically controlling for belief in low-evil conspiracy theories. A general conspiracy mentality yielded similar results. Discussion focuses on how perceiving evil intentions in conspiracy theories may be one explanation for why trait anger relates to conspiracy beliefs
Single-molecule DNA methylation reveals unique epigenetic identity profiles of T helper cells
Both identity and plasticity of CD4 T helper (Th) cells are regulated in part by epigenetic mechanisms. However, a method that reliably and readily profiles DNA base modifications is still needed to finely study Th cell differentiation. Cytosine methylation in CpG context (5mCpG) and cytosine hydroxymethylation (5hmCpG) are DNA modifications that identify stable cell phenotypes, but their potential to characterize intermediate cell transitions has not yet been evaluated. To assess transition states in Th cells, we developed a method to profile Th cell identity using Cas9-targeted single-molecule nanopore sequencing. Targeting as few as 10 selected genomic loci, we were able to distinguish major in vitro polarized murine T cell subtypes, as well as intermediate phenotypes, by their native DNA 5mCpG patterns. Moreover, by using off-target sequences, we were able to infer transcription factor activities relevant to each cell subtype. Detection of 5mCpG and 5hmCpG was validated on intestinal Th17 cells escaping transforming growth factor β control, using single-molecule adaptive sampling. A total of 21 differentially methylated regions mapping to the 10-gene panel were identified in pathogenic Th17 cells relative to their nonpathogenic counterpart. Hence, our data highlight the potential to exploit native DNA methylation profiling to study physiological and pathological transition states of Th cells
Validation of an organizational sustainable development questionnaire : exploring dimensions and implications
This study evaluates the concept and discriminant validity of an organizational sustainable development (OSD) questionnaire and discusses its practical implications. The OSD questionnaire measurement model is carefully validated using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Data analysis with well-established statistical methods reveals seven OSD dimensions: Continuous Improvement and Learning, Environmental Stewardship, Social Responsibility, Governance and Ethics, Economic Viability, Integration and Alignment, and Stakeholder Engagement. Fortunately, the questionnaire has strong construct and discriminant validity, making it a reliable OSD assessment tool. Despite encouraging results, this study is limited to a certain group and culture. Future study must validate broad populations and investigate the complex interactions between OSD characteristics and outcomes. This research provides a thorough conceptual framework and a rigorously tested assessment method to improve our understanding of OSD and enable more detailed studies of sustainable organizational practices
