    The rapid urbanization and technological advancements of the 21st century have propelled the evolution of smart cities, aiming to enhance efficiency, connectivity, and overall quality of life. As cities strive to address environmental challenges, this research investigates the integration of a 5G Green Network as a pivotal component of smart city sustainability. The study explores the intersection of 5G technology and environmentally conscious practices, aiming to understand their collective impact on urban development. The literature review underscores the current landscape of smart cities, sustainability, and the emergent role of 5G networks. Highlighting gaps in existing research, the paper establishes the need for an in-depth examination of the potential environmental benefits and challenges associated with deploying 5G technology in smart city infrastructures. A conceptual framework is proposed, delineating the key components of a 5G Green Network and its seamless integration into smart city infrastructure. The methodology section outlines research design, data collection methods, and analytical tools employed to assess the sustainability implications of 5G technology. The paper examines the various facets of smart city infrastructure and elaborates on how 5G Green Networks can positively impact energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance overall sustainability. Drawing on case studies and examples, the research presents successful instances of cities implementing 5G Green Networks and analyzes the lessons learned. This research aims to provide valuable insights for policymakers, urban planners, and technologists alike, fostering a deeper understanding of the potential of 5G Green Networks in advancing the sustainability agenda within the context of smart cities

    Nel panorama pubblicitario italiano, pochi brand hanno saputo trasformare la trasgressione in uno stile comunicativo riconoscibile quanto Amica Chips. Questo volume racconta e analizza, in modo sistematico, una strategia di comunicazione che ha fatto del paradosso, dell’ironia e del nonsense le proprie cifre distintive, fino a spingersi ai limiti della censura. A partire da una ricostruzione puntuale della storia pubblicitaria dell’azienda, il testo si concentra su uno spot recente e controverso, trasmesso nel 2024, avente come protagonista una suora golosa, incapace di resistere alla bontà delle patatine Amica Chips, in un luogo sacro come una chiesa: uno spot divenuto rapidamente oggetto di polemiche, reazioni mediatiche e richieste di censura. L’analisi di questa campagna diventa motivo di riflessione sui meccanismi della censura contemporanea, sulla spettacolarizzazione del dissenso e sul ruolo dei media nella regolazione dei confini dell’“accettabile”. Attraverso una lente sociologica e semiotica, il libro propone una riflessione originale e attuale sul valore strategico della trasgressione, sul concetto di coerenza di marca e sul potere culturale della pubblicità nel plasmare, e contestare, l’immaginario collettivo

    Educational needs and barriers in dementia care training for migrant family care assistants in Italy: a qualitative study

    Background In Italy, migrant family care assistants (MFCAs) represent the most cost-effective answer to dementia home care need and to desire of ageing in place of older adults and family caregivers. Nevertheless, MFCAs very often have no training in elder care and even less in the dementia care. Conversely, elder care training may improve MFCAs’ working condition and mental health. Exploring MFCAs’ educational needs is one of the objectives of the “Age-It” project, aiming at advancing knowledge and competences on ageing by applying a holistic, interdisciplinary, and problem-solving approach through the synergic work of research and educational institutions, care providers and civil society associations, businesses and industries. Methods In Autumn 2023, 25 semi-structured questionnaires, including both closed and open-ended questions, were conducted with MFCAs living in two Italian regions: Marche and Molise. The research material was thematically analysed to answer four research questions: Which is the work experience of MFCAs of older adults with long-term care needs? Which are their educational needs? Which are the barriers to training? Did the emigration geographical area of respondents and the migration route influence their willingness to attend an elder care training? Results Three main themes were identified: (1) Migration: a painful choice to flee poor (violent) societies; (2) Elder care: a stressful work; (3) Needs and barriers to elder care education. Most interviewed MFCAs face many difficulties at work, including stress, burden and lack of free time. Many respondents expressed the need and willingness to improve their knowledge on ageing processes, dementia, behavioural disorders, medicine administration, bedsores and injuries medication. The 24 h work represents the main barriers to attend the lessons. Discussion Suggestions for future trainings include a co-designed curriculum embedding contents on dementia and behavioural disorders; self-care and resilience; host country language. Concerning policy and practice recommendations, mandatory, free and periodic, blended trainings, a clear offer of elder care education, the recognition of previous courses at EU and national level are encouraged. Conclusions Given the pivotal role of MFCAs in the LTC in Italy, it is urgent that they are adequately trained. Given the stressful and 24 h work, a co-designed e-learning platform may be a promising means for reaching and training them

    Quali sono i motivi che portano un progetto sviluppato da un artista a fallire? É possibile parlarne nei termini di un’opera d’arte non realizzata? Ha senso studiare e conservare idee che non sono arrivate a compimento, che si sono – o sono state – interrotte in un determinato momento del loro sviluppo? Questi sono solo alcuni dei tanti interrogativi che il volume si pone di fronte a un insieme eterogeneo e perlopiù sommerso di progetti che sono stati pensati e spesso parzialmente sviluppati, ma che non hanno mai trovato un esito definitivo. Rimasti a vari stadi sulla carta, nei cassetti o negli hard disk degli artisti, nascosti in scambi epistolari o in documenti prodotti per candidature a bandi e concorsi, questi progetti racchiudono un enorme potenziale inespresso e altrettante idee di futuro. Nato dall’esperienza di MoRE. Museum of refused and unrealised art projects, un archivio e museo digitale che raccoglie, conserva ed espone online opere non realizzate di artisti dalla seconda metà del XX secolo a oggi, il volume affronta questo tema concentrandosi sui progetti artistici non realizzati dal punto di vista della storia dell’arte, delle culture progettuali, della critica, della filosofia e del diritto dell’arte. Organizzato come un lemmario, "L’opera che non c’è" accompagna la lettrice e il lettore alla scoperta di una costellazione di temi che indagano il non realizzato.
