System efficiency of PVT-collector driven heat pumps

    No full text
ASEE19Standard heat pump (HP) systems with horizontal ground heat exchangers (HGHE) are commonly designed based on arbitrary knowledge gained over time and the use of the rule of thumb. Where an undersizing of the HGHE occurs, the HP efficiencies are lowered. Undersizing could result as a consequence of underestimating the soils thermal conductivity. Therefore, this paper considers the combined photovoltaic and solar thermal (PVT) collectors as an extension to standard HP heating systems with a HGHE in single-family houses with the possibility of improving the COP of the HP at a later stage and effortlessly. With the implemented hydronic scheme, the PVT-collector is also used to regenerate the soil around the ground to increase the temperature level of the heat source resulting in improved performance. However, the efficiency potential of the PV-Cells due to active cooling of the modules is analyzed. The results show an increase of the seasonal performance factor (SPF) of 4.1 % and higher electric energy output of 4.4% due to active cooling of the PV-Cells while energy consumption of the regeneration pump is covered.Energie-UmweltmanagementForschung Burgenlan

Kohärente Führung zur Gestaltung gesundheitsförderlicher Arbeitsbedingungen

Science.Research.Pannonia. Gesundhei

Learning by Going: Transformative Learning through Long-term Independent Travel

    No full text
Birgit Phillips explores the concept of transformative travel as it pertains to long-term independent travelers and offers a broad philosophical understanding of the complex socio-cultural processes involved in identity negotiation. She examines both the elements that contribute to the transformation of values and identities and the mechanisms by which this transformation occurs. By deploying a pluralistic, reflexive, interpretive research approach, Phillips foregrounds the personal experiences of the individual study participants and the meanings they attach to their travel experiences. In addition, since the study spanned over 14 years, the author is able to provide a wide-ranging picture of the complete travel experience, from initial motivations to post-travel reintegration as well as the long-term effects on traveler values and identities.Gesundhei

Project Management in a cultural context

    No full text
Project Management Development - Practice and Perspectives, 8th International Scientific Conference on Project Management in the Baltic Countries, April 25-26, 2019, Riga, University of LatviaTheories of project management are well structured guidelines to bring projects to success. Available studies on project success factors stress out that commitment on decisions, reliability and engagement within organizations as well as the benefit for the project sponsor decide over success or failure. In an international context projects face other cultural, technical and economic challenges. For project teams that work together in EU-funded projects the acceptance of cultural differences and the consideration of one´s own and foreign cultural peculiarities form the basis for a successful cooperation. These projects usually produce results for several project sponsors, decisions are made by the coordinator and not directly with the project manager on the partner side. Agile methodologies are simply not possible and project communication is well defined in the project planning phase and alignments are difficult to put through. The authors of this paper stress out that one important project success factor are culture. According to current literature this issue in the context of international project management has potential for further research. With the aim to close this gap a set of selected EU-funded projects are analysed for success factors and problem areas. This paper provides the criteria catalogue of the conducted analysis and a recommended course of action.Informationstechnologie und Informationsmanagemen
