    Background: Promoting health through motor activity is an interinstitutional responsibility, and schools are the ideal setting for implementing educational interventions. It is essential that teachers design interventions geared toward learning motor skills and evaluate the effects of different content and teaching styles on the perception of competence and motor development. The nonlinear teaching approach, through variability of practice and the interaction of teaching styles and strategies, aims to promote diverse student learning methods and transferable motor skills. Objectives: The objectives of this study are: a) to evaluate and compare motor performance and levels of motor activity in relation to intra-group and inter-group differences; b) to evaluate and compare motor development in relation to related psychological factors and executive functions; c) to evaluate the effects of an experimental motor activity teaching intervention on executive functions, academic performance, motor development, and related factors, through the interaction of different teaching styles and variability of practice. Methods: The sample consisted of 120 students attending grades III-IV of the “I.C. Foscolo-Gabelli” primary school in Foggia, aged between 8 and 10 years (MGS: 8.77±0.57; MGC: 9.28±0.46; FGS: 8.93±0.74; FGC: 8.85±0.56). The educational intervention lasted two and a half months (from October 2, 2023 to December 16, 2023) and involved the experimental group (60 children) subjected to 10 EAS (situated learning episodes). Through a variety of exercises, the teacher proposed different motor tasks, mainly using productive teaching styles (non-linear teaching). The following motor protocols have been proposed to assess motor skills: MOBAK 3-4 (Herrmann et al., 2015a; Herrmann et al., 2015b; Herrmann et al., 2017; Colella & Monacis 2019; Colella, 2022); TGMD2 (Ulrich, 2000). Psychological factors related to physical activity practice have been assessed as follows: perceived self-efficacy PSP-C (Colella et al., 2008); Enjoyment in Physical and Sports Activities (PACES) (Carraro et al., 2008); Motor Literacy (PLAYself) (Jefferies et al., 2021). Finally, the following tests have been proposed to assess executive functions: TOL (Sannio Fancello G. et al., 2013); TCR (Edmonston & Thane, 1989). Academic performance was assessed via self-report: SEQ- C (Minter & Pritzker, 2015). Results: Between-group and within-group descriptive analyses highlighted the effectiveness of the teaching intervention. Variations in teaching styles (Mosston & Ashworth, 2008), content, and organizational methods (non-linear teaching) had effects on motor development, executive functions, and related psychological factors. Overall, both males and females in the experimental group showed higher performance and scores on motor protocols and self-reports (significance index p < 0.05). Results showed significant improvements in the components of physical efficiency and executive functions in the GS and GC, as well as in factors related to physical activity (perceived self-efficacy, enjoyment, academic performance). Conclusions: The study contributes to the definition of a teaching model, based on nonlinear teaching, to promote the development of executive functions and coordination and to explain the relationships between levels of physical activity, motor development, and related psychological factors.     Characterisation of a sulphite-tolerant Schizosaccharomyces pombe strain: potential as spoilage in oversulphited must and as starter cultures in wine

    This study characterises a novel Schizosaccharomyces pombe (Sc. pombe) strain SP2 isolated from a winery where alcoholic fermentation has been prevented by sulphiting to obtain preserved grape must, in which spontaneous malo-alcoholic fermentation occurs despite high sulfur dioxide (SO2) concentrations. This work demonstrated that the same yeast strain can have a dichotomous relevance in the same agri-food chain: a spoilage agent in preserved grape must and ii) as a candidate starter culture for wine production. In the study, levels of tolerance to SO2 in the simulations of selective pressure exerted by this bacteriostatic agent are compatible with the phenomenon observed in the winery, demonstrating the spoilage potential of the strain in the preserved must industry. The selection of a highly resistant fission yeast strain highlights the importance of studying food niches to improve our understanding of evolutionary phenomena and phenotypic variability in model microorganisms. Fermentation trials in synthetic musts, white and red wines, contribute to assess the yeast behaviour under monoculture, co-inoculation, and sequential inoculation with Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Sc. pombe monocultures lagged in fermentation kinetics and produced more acetic acid, especially in red musts. Sequential and co-inoculation contributed to enhancing volatile profiles, especially esters and higher alcohols, contributing to superior aromatic complexity as illustrated by multivariate analysis. Sequential inoculation, in particular, enhances the production of key esters and alcohols, enabling efficient malic acid degradation with low acetic acid production. The results also underscore that the matrix type (synthetic must, red, or white wine) interacts strongly with the inoculation strategy in shaping the volatile composition

    Diagnosis, management and outcomes of incarceration or intussusception of Fallopian tubes following uterine perforation after vacuum aspiration or dilatation and curettage of the uterine cavity: a systematic review of the literature

    Background: Dilation and curettage and vacuum aspiration are frequently performed gynaecological procedures used to treat uterine pathology. This procedure carries a risk of uterine perforation, which can lead to injury of abdominal organs and, rarely, to fallopian tubes. Objectives: To evaluate symptoms and diagnostic signs and to propose the most appropriate management for the intussusception and incarceration of fallopian tubes following uterine aspiration and curettage. Methods: We screened three major databases (Medline, Scopus, Google Scholar) from 2000 to May 2024. Our review examined tubal incarceration, causes, management, symptoms, parity, diagnosis timelines, visceral injury, and surgical complications. The methodological quality of the included studies was assessed using the JBI Critical Appraisal Checklist for case reports. Main Outcome Measures: Diagnostic methods, complications and management of tubal incarceration following uterine perforation. Results: We identified 24 papers, all of which were case reports or case series. In our analysis, tubal incarceration was observed in 25 of 26 cases (96.2%) and in 2 of which (7.7%) it was associated with the entrapment of the infundibulopelvic ligament. In 1 of 26 cases (3.8%) intussusception of the fallopian tube was observed. The most frequently manifested symptoms were abdominopelvic pain, vaginal bleeding, vaginal discharge and amenorrhoea. The mean time to diagnosis was 15.4 months, with transvaginal ultrasound being the primary diagnostic tool, followed by hysteroscopy and diagnostic laparoscopy. Conclusions: Diagnosing this condition should involve a detailed medical history, a comprehensive clinical examination, and imaging evaluations. If instrumental investigations are negative but suspicion remains, hysteroscopy and/or laparoscopy may be necessary.     Northern Apulia Coastal Survey: la piana di Siponto tra Neolitico e Medioevo

    his paper presents the first results of the Northern Apulia Coastal Survey, a project that investigates the historic landscapes of the northern Apulian coastal plain, extending from the mouth of the Ofanto River to the Gulf of Manfredonia. In the context of this inaugural campaign, a substantial part of the discourse is devoted to the comprehensive methodological framework that integrates archaeological legacy data with systematic field surveys and statistical modelling to document and interpret surface archaeological evidence. Particular attention has been paid to modelling the effects of variable visibility and temporal patterns in the collected archaeological material. The first survey campaign covered 277.5 ha in the suburban area of ancient Sipontum and revealed occupation patterns spanning several periods: Late Prehistory (with a notable peak during the Bronze Age), the Roman and Late Antique periods (2nd century BC - 6th century AD) and the Late Medieval period (13th-14th centuries). Among the most important discoveries are extensive productive activities on the outskirts of Sipontum, several quarries and a monumental maritime villa with associated agricultural lands. These results offer new perspectives on the changing relationship between coastal communities and their environment through time, highlighting settlement continuities and discontinuities

    This paper investigates the impact of digital innovation and artificial intelligence (AI) on museum education, focusing on the transition between the real and virtual world and the involvement of all educational actors, including schools, teachers and students. Through an analysis of case studies, recent debates and concrete experiences, the integration of virtual reality (VR) and AI in museum contexts is explored. The methodology is based on the analysis - through studies and field experiences - of the educational perspectives offered by these technologies, with a focus on the psychological effects related to motivation, information retention and the development of key skills. The research investigates how VR and AI can overcome physical barriers and personalise learning, balancing technological innovation and human elements to maximise educational effectiveness
