Extending Multi-MSB Prediction and Huffman Coding for Reversible Data Hiding in Encrypted HDR Images

    No full text
[[abstract]]Reversible data hiding in encrypted images can simultaneously enhance the image privacy and preserve the message security for the purpose of covert communication and cloud data management. The algorithm extends the multi-MSB prediction and Huffman coding to propose the first reversible data hiding in encrypted HDR images in the Radiance RGBE format. Because of the high similarity among the exponent channel values of neighboring pixels, we directly applied multi-MSB prediction in our proposed preprocessing procedure, yielding considerably increased embedding capacity. We also proposed a novel image encryption method to maintain the characteristics of the images. Subsequently, a distortion-free data hiding algorithm, namely the homogeneity index modification algorithm, was added to further increase embedding capacity. The experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed algorithm and its ability to increase embedding capacity, embedding rate, and image privacy, support two data hiders, and enable reversibility and separability

    No full text
[[abstract]]Globally competitive market environment, interior design students will face a challenging environment after graduation. Therefore, the best strategy of high professional quality manpower requirements is enhancing self-competitiveness and create unique competitive advantages. However, learning achievements of interior design students cultivated by the academia are directly reflected in the expectations of the industrial circles for professional capabilities. There has obviously been a gap that is far less than expected in recent years; secondary the lack of holistic to conduct quantitative investigations on the gap between “school curriculum design” and “professional capabilities required in industrial circles”. At present, the method of qualitative investigation is the majority, and the investigation and research on the current situation of interior designers in the actual industry is obviously not getting attention. Therefore, this research is mainly to exploring the interior design curriculum in response to industrial circles expectations of technology capabilities in Taiwan. The study used the Delphi Method to conduct an expert questionnaire survey. This research found that the importance sequence of the hierarchical categories of curriculum planning and design items for interior design education in higher education are “Interior Planning and Design” (8.57), “Interior Design Practice” (8.05), “Computer Information Technology” (7.78). The research results not only can be used as a reference for future university institutions to adjustment the direction of interior design talent cultivation, but also as an important reference and suggestions for design of multiple innovative curriculums in the future

    No full text
[[abstract]]Artificial neural network (ANN) is one kind of artificial intelligence in the computing system that aims to process information as the way neurons in the human brain. In this study, the combination of the Taguchi method and ANN are used to maximize and predict biofuel yield from spent mushroom substrate torrefaction and pyrolysis via microwave irradiation. The Taguchi method is utilized to design the multiple factors (particle size, catalyst, power, and magnetic agent) and levels of experiment parameters. The highest total biofuel yield (biochar + bio-oil) is 99.42%, accomplished by a combination of 355 ?m particle size, 300 mg·g-SMS-1 catalyst, 900 W power, and 300 mg·g-SMS-1 magnetic agent. ANN with one hidden layer shows the outstanding linear regression predictions for the highest biofuel yields (biochar 0.9999 and bio-oil 0.9998). This high linear regression indicates that ANN with a quick propagation algorithm is an appropriate approach for predicting biofuel conversion

[[abstract]]Environmental concerns have initiated the search for greener measures to mitigate pollution issues. Bio Nano CaO was synthesized by reducing CaO extracted from chicken egg shell using tea decoction. The synthesized material was characterized by physico-chemical techniques such as XRD, TGA, BET surface area analyser, TGA and SEM techniques. XRD studied confirmed the crystalline nature of material. The prepared material was found to be stable till 450 οC from TGA study. The SEM pictures displayed uniform and discrete particles which portrays the high probable sites that maximises the catalytic activity. The optimization of microwave assisted Biodiesel synthesis from chicken feather oil through Transesterification process using the bio-synthesized catalytic material was the main aim of the study. A 500 W microwave irradiation of Chicken feather meal oil using 8:1 Methanol:Oil input, 1% Bio Nano CaO concentration, 5 min of reaction time resulted in 95% conversion of chicken feather meal oil into chicken feather meal methyl esters. The Biodiesel was showed low viscosity (4.15 mm2/s), high heating value (50 MJ/kg), high flash point (153οC), reasonable pour point (12 οC) and good cetane number (50 min). The future works will be concentrated on the engine studies related to Torque, fuel consumption, emission data by using the synthesized Biodiesel

[[abstract]]Here in this work a simple and direct method to synthesize Rubik’s cube-like Linda Type (LTA) zeolite NaA structure is reported. Linda Type (LTA) zeolite was synthesized by hydrothermal method without using any organic template additives. The molar ratio of 3.165Na2O:Al2O3:1.926SiO2:128H2O have been used to prepare the zeolite NaA hydrogel. The thermal stability of the synthesized zeolite NaA was studied through the thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The results of X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis showed that the crystallinity of the synthesized zeolite is good and the material is of high purity. Through the FTIR study, functional groups belonging to the zeolite NaA was confirmed. From the FESEM analysis, morphology of the synthesized sample was found to be Rubik’s cube-like structure. The elemental composition of the material was studied using the EDAX analysis and the ratio of Si:Al was found to be ? 1. Further from the SAED patterns of the prepared sample, it was observed that the material is polycrystalline in nature. From the nitrogen adsorption/desorption results the zeolite NaA samples was found to be mesoporous in nature. The pore size of the samples have been obtained using the Barrett-Joyner-Halenda (BJH) analysis. The CO2 adsorption isotherm study was carried out at 298 K and the isotherm was fitted by using Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherm

Some studies on reducing carbon dioxide emission from a CRDI engine with hydrogen and a carbon capture system

[[abstract]]The increased use of fossil fuels in the transportation sector has led to an exponential rise of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The carbon dioxide (CO2) is the major cause of global warming resulting in climate change and extreme weather conditions. This study explores the ways of reducing the CO2 emission from the exhaust of a common rail engine. The reduction in CO2 emissions were achieved by a combination of methods. It includes the use of low carbon biofuels (cedarwood oil (CWO), and wintergreen oil (WGO)), induction of zero-carbon, hydrogen in the intake manifold and a zeolite-based after-treatment system. In diesel, CWO and WGO were blended 20% by volume and experiments were conducted at different load conditions. The results shows that 20% blending of winter green oil resulted in maximum CO2 reduction of 20% as compared to diesel. The emission was further reduced with the induction of hydrogen along with the after-treatment system. It is seen that a maximum of 54% reduction in CO2 emission could be achieved with the combination for WGO in comparison to diesel without much affecting the other emissions and performance parameters. ? 2021 Hydrogen Energy Publications LL

    No full text
[[abstract]]Background/aim: Matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) plays a critical role in the regulation of the extracellular matrix; however, its genotypes have seldom been examined in gastric cancer (GC). This study aimed to investigate the contribution of MMP-2 promoter -1306 (rs243865) and -735 (rs2285053) genotypes to GC risk in a cohort of Taiwanese individuals. Materials and methods: This study included 121 GC cases and 363 age- and sex-matched controls. The genotypes of MMP-2 were determined by typical polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism. Results: The genotypic and allelic frequency analysis showed that MMP-2 rs243865 variant genotypes decreased the risk of GC. Stratification analysis showed that MMP-2 rs243865 genotypes associate with smoking, alcohol drinking, and Helicobacter pylori infection status to confer personal susceptibility to GC. There is no such association for MMP-2 rs2285053 genotype with GC risk. Conclusion: The MMP-2 rs243865 genotypes may serve as a novel predictive marker for GC personal susceptibility among Taiwanese

Structures of all isolates were elucidated by physical data (appearance, ultraviolet, infrared, specific rotation, and X-ray) and spectroscopic data (1D and 2D nuclear magnetic resonance, and high-resolution electron ionization mass spectrometry). The biosynthetic pathway of calomacroquinoic acid is also described in the current study. Nitric oxide production in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated BV-2 microglia cells was inhibited by 6,7-dehydroferruginol, 7α,11-dihydroxy-12-methoxy-8,11,13-abietriene, and trans-communic acid. Altogether, the bark of C. formosana possessed several potential natural therapeutics against inflammation-related neuronal diseases

The Hydrolytic Peptides of Soybean Protein Induce Cell Cycle Arrest and Apoptosis on Human Oral Cancer Cell Line HSC-3

    No full text
[[abstract]]Protein hydrolysates from various sources, including tuna cooking juice, soy protein isolate, sodium caseinate, wheat gluten and skin gelatin from porcine, tilapia, halibut and milkfish were analyzed to screen their antiproliferative activities against the human oral squamous carcinoma cell line, HSC-3. The soy protein isolate was selected for further investigations based on its hydrolysates with bromelain (SB) and thermolysin (ST), showing the greatest inhibition of cell growth. The SB and ST hydrolysates showed antiproliferative activities up to 35.45-76.39% against HSC-3 cells at 72 h, and their IC50 values were 0.74 and 0.60 mg/mL, respectively. SB and ST induced cell cycle arrest in the S phase through a pathway independent of p21 and p27 protein expression. Further, ST induced the apoptosis of HSC-3 cells by downregulating expression of Bcl-2, PARP, caspase 3 and caspase 9, but an upregulating expression of p53 and cleaved caspase 3. Unlike ST, SB may induce necrosis on HSC-3 cells. Thus, soybean hydrolysates may be a good source for providing antiproliferative peptides against HSC-3, while SB and ST may have the potential to be developed as functional foods
