Kokegropfeltet på Sand: Utgravning på Tjeldøya i Tjeldsund kommune
Utgravning av en lokalitet på Sand på nordsiden av Tjeldøya i 2021, hvor ca. 1290 m² ble maskinelt flateavdekket og undersøkt. Det ble påvist 18 kokegroper, en nedgravning og to lag av ukjent funksjon. Lokaliteten blir tolket som ett kokegropfelt, hvor av 10 av kokegropene ble snittet og dokumentert. Også én nedgravning og to lag ble undersøkt. Kokegropfeltet er datert til førromersk jernalder. Undersøkelsen kan vise til dannelsen av ett maktsenter på Sand i denne perioden samt den yngre kokegropen kan vise til kontinuitet
Måleegenskaper ved den norske versjonen av The Lamer Social Competence in Preschool Scale (LSCIP)
Description: The Lamer Social Competence in Preschool Scale (LSCIP) is a questionnaire-based measurement tool that has been developed to assess children\u27s social competence in a Nordic preschool context. LSCIP consists of 31 items. The instrument builds upon the American measurement tool Social Skills Rating System (SSRS). The questionnaire can be answered by preschool personnel or parents. Responses are given on a five-point Likert scale ranging from one (very seldom) to five (very often) about how often the child has exhibited the competence in the past two months.
Literature search: A systematic literature search for Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish studies reporting on the psychometric properties of LSCIP resulted in 109 hits. Five studies, including one master\u27s thesis, were found through other sources. After full-text evaluation, a total of nine Norwegian studies were included. These studies provided documentation on both the instrument\u27s reliability and validity. The age groups reported in the studies range from 1½ to 5½ years old. The samples are relatively large (ranging from n = 478 to n = 1426), but several of the studies report on subsamples from the same sample. There are no clinical samples in the included studies, and thus only the general population is reported on.
Psychometrics: The results indicate good reliability for the entire scale, but somewhat less consistent reliability for the subscales. Construct validity is reported through two different approaches to the factor structure which provide somewhat conflicting results regarding whether LSCIP measures a multidimensional or unidimensional construct. There is a lack of documentation on convergent, discriminant, and criterion validity, and it is unknown how the instrument performs in clinical populations. There is, however, some documentation on concurrent and predictive validity.
Conclusion: LSCIP is a relatively well-studied instrument in terms of some aspects of its psychometric properties. However, there are somewhat conflicting results regarding the subscales and lack of information on validity, norm data, and clinical subgroups. Therefore, we recommend that LSCIP be used only for research purposes for the time being.Beskrivelse: Lamer Social Competence in Preschool Scale (LSCIP) er et spørreskjemabasert måleinstrument som kartlegger barns sosiale kompetanse i en nordisk barnehagekontekst. LSCIP bygger på det amerikanske måleinstrumentet Social Skills Rating System (SSRS). Instrumentet består av 31 ledd. Spørreskjemaet kan besvares av barnehagepersonell eller foresatte. Det gis svar på en fempunkts Likert-skala fra én (veldig sjelden) til fem (veldig ofte) om hvor ofte barnet viser kompetansen i de siste to månedene.

Det finnes imidlertid noe dokumentasjon på samtidig og prediktiv validitet.
Konklusjon: Enkelte av LSCIPs psykometriske egenskaper er relativt godt undersøkt. Samtidig er det noe motstridende resultater når det gjelder delskalaene og manglende informasjon på validitet, normdata og kliniske undergrupper. Vi anbefaler derfor LSCIP kun til bruk i forskning foreløpig

Inari Saami does not have a strong written tradition. The current orthography was adopted as recently as the 1990s, and the revitalization process is beginning only now to shift its focus from increasing the number of speakers to strengthening the literacy of the language. This article studies the Inari Saami postpositions pelni and piälán as well as their shorter forms peln/beln and pel/bel. The main question is whether these postpositions are joined to the noun preceding them or stand after it as separate words. The research is based on the SIKOR Inari Saami free corpus developed by the Giellatekno team. The postpositions have been analyzed semantically taking into account the frequency with which they occur in the literature. They have been divided into four semantic groups: 1) place, 2) orientation and direction, 3) time and 4) other semantic categories. The long forms pelni and piälán are mostly written as separate words – except for when they are used to express orientation or direction – whereas the short forms peln/beln and pel/bel are usually joined to the preceding word other than in time expressions. Do female and male writers use adjectives differently? This article is a survey of the potentially gendered use of adjectives in Norwegian novels. It is also a tribute to Trond Tosteruds\u27s legendary article on grammatical gender. While our concern here is biological sex of authors and their use of adjectives, the man of the hour was concerned with rule-governed gender on nouns, albeit with a biological accent. Several readers — and listeners at MONS in 1999 — took note of the bold rule that said that oblong objects, not to mention protruding natural formations, are masculine, while natural phenomena such as pits and cavities are feminine (Trosterud 2001).
Projections for Sámi in Norway: Schools as Key to Revitalization
The paper presents three different projections of the future number of Sámi language users in Norway based on the contemporary number of children receiving instruction in Sámi in the Norwegian school system, either North, Lule or South Sámi. There exist three different curricula for the subject Sámi, one for first language pupils (Sámi 1), one for second language pupils (Sámi 2), and one for pupils with no previous knowledge of the language (Sámi 3). Depending on whether only Sámi 1 pupils become future language users, or also Sámi 2 or even Sámi 3 pupils do so, a sober, moderate, and optimistic prognosis can be made, respectively. The sober prognosis predicts a dramatic decrease for North Sámi and slight decrease for the other two varieties, whereas the moderate prognosis predicts stability for North Sámi and increase for Lule and South Sámi, and the optimistic prognosis predicts an increase for all three varieties. A number of factors that are likely to modulate the prognoses are brought to attention and discussed, unveiling that more information is needed regarding a number of issues that bear on how the future of the Sámi languages in Norway can be estimated
Informasjonsflyt ved overføring av pasienter fra sykehus til kommunale tjenester: Erfaringer fra saksbehandlere ved forvaltningsleddet tildelingskontor (TK)
The aim of this study is to highlight the flow of information in the transfer of patients from the specialist to municipal healthcare services, by interpreting the experiences of employees in the administrative level of TK. The study is based on qualitative interviews with 11 informants. The data analysis is inspired by Granheim and Lundman’s qualitative content analysis. Three themes were identified; 1. different perspectives in reporting, 2. frustration and control and 3. reciprocity in interaction. The topics are discussed in light of viewpoints such as information quality, consequences of different choices in perspective, reciprocity and recognition. The study finds a clear need for recognition of perspectives, responsibility and competence of TK employees, as well as a desire for formal dialogue around the challenges.Hensikten med denne studien er å belyse informasjonsflyt i overføring av pasient fra spesialisthelsetjenesten til kommunale helsetjenester, gjennom å fortolke erfaringer fra saksbehandlere i forvaltningsnivået TK. Studien er basert på kvalitative intervjuer med 11 informanter. Dataanalysen er inspirert av Granheim og Lundmans kvalitative innholdsanalyse. Tre temaer ble identifisert; 1. ulike perspektiver i rapportering, 2. frustrasjon og kontroll og 3. gjensidighet i samhandling. Temaene diskuteres i lys av informasjonskvalitet, konsekvenser av ulike perspektivvalg, gjensidighet og anerkjennelse. Studien finner et tydelig behov for anerkjennelse av perspektiv, ansvar og kompetanse hos TK ansatte, samt et ønske om formell dialog rundt utfordringene
Open Science-friendly national R&D knowledge and information infrastructure: A case study from Korea
This paper outlines the functionality of the South Korea’s National Science and Technology Information Service (NTIS), maintained by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI). NTIS is a “one-stop shop” portal federating information on national R&D projects from multiple databases and metadata aggregators, including links to downloadable Open Access outputs and raw data. Among other functions, it provides a range of services based on R&D information analysis to facilitate open collaboration and knowledge co-development (e.g., providing network maps visualising collaboration among researchers and research institutes based on the field of research interest). In addition, some challenges associated with NTIS are outlined, including a lack of explicit Open Science mandates in national legislation and policies. We also suggest some opportunities for further development of the NTIS platform so that it can better support Open Science. These include, for example, alternative research impact metrics and a virtual laboratory service to be embedded into the NTIS functionality. Insights offered in this paper regarding the Korean experience of building an Open Science infrastructure could be useful to anyone planning to establish an R&D knowledge and information infrastructure, including various Open Science building blocks, in other contexts and countries
Building the blocks for open science
The value and importance of open science is a central component of how we move research and knowledge forward – sharing all elements of research is fundamental to trust, integrity and reproducibility and therefore the advancement of discovery and trusted knowledge.
As a community, however, we need to get better at taking concrete steps to drive forward appropriate measures. Encouraging open sharing and research practices, promoting their benefits, and building an evidence based approach to their value – whilst important, are on their own, not enough. Collaboration across all stakeholders needs to take place – policy makers, funders, publishers, librarians, researchers and organisations/institutions. These are all important conversations that need to continue to take place to effect positive change through collaboration, awareness and innovation. Coupling real world examples with clear policy, better credit and reward systems, better tools and services, explicit funding, practical help and answers to common questions are all essential factors in accelerating openness and sharing to an established norm.
There are no easy answers, and no “silver bullet”, but there is much we can act on now.
This poster will draw on the thoughts of those key stakeholders across our sector to talk through the building blocks to true sustainable open science – from a code and data, platform, librarian, researcher and publisher perspective – whilst we may all be a small part of the cog, by each playing our part we can contribute, more than we have been able to before, in building the blocks for open science
Supporting Open Infrastructure through commercial partnerships: The Ubiquity case study

One of the key issues with open infrastructure within the scholarly communications and open science spaces is finding solutions for long-term sustainability. One important approach to this is ensuring that these infrastructures are also adopted and supported by the commercial sector, as in the case of key platforms we take for granted today, such as Linux. This can lead to significant benefits both for the scholarly community in terms of dependability and lower cost, and to companies in terms of lower risk, shared costs, and broadening impact on society.
This presentation will present the approach taken by Ubiquity, a for-profit publishing services and open science platform, to base all of its products on open infrastructure. By deploying and contributing both financially and through open source code to infrastructure such as Open Journal Systems, Samvera repositories and OPERAS Metrics, Ubiquity is able to both strengthen these platforms for the wider community and to benefit significantly from their use.
A cost-benefit analysis based on the Ubiquity example will be included to make the case for investment in open infrastructure by commercial companies. This will be further balanced by a discussion of ways to establish trust between the scholarly community and commercial providers, and the kind of guarantees these providers need to make based on our experience
