This reflective work is based on a theoretical framework on the role of drawing in science and its potential as a learning strategy. Two successful educational experiences with students on the degree course in early childhood education at the University of Valladolid (Spain) are described: one for the study of insects, and another for the study of plants. Under an artistic approach, students learned biological science content, improved their artistic graphic skills, and modified their initial attitudes of rejection and indifference towards the studied organisms. Finally, we reflect on the didactic possibilities of drawing and the shortcomings in research located at the intersection of art and science in education, an emerging field to which it is necessary to contribute through joint research.
This article analyzes, through a case study, the financing mechanisms of two Waldorf schools in Chile. The results highlight that these schools are founded on socio-pedagogical principles but face financial instability due to their dependence on family contributions. Their participatory governance fosters a sense of community, but self-management limits the planning, sustainability, and expansion of their educational projects. The discussion reveals how these schools face tensions between pedagogical autonomy and financial precariousness, exacerbated by the absence of state support. It underscores the need for inclusive public policies that balance economic sustainability with respect for educational diversity to ensure freedom of education.
This paper analyzes the marginalization of Philosophy of Education in teacher education curricula, in the face of the growing emphasis on technical and operational competencies. It argues that the ability to grasp the whole has been gradually displaced from individuals in formation to specialized domains, undermining more critical and reflective approaches to teaching. Reinstating Philosophy at the center of this debate is a way to reconnect pedagogical knowledge with lived experience, calling for a sensitive listening to traditions, contexts, and meanings that permeate the educational act in times of fragmentation and performativity.O texto analisa o esvaziamento da Filosofia da Educação nos currículos de formação docente, diante da valorização crescente de competências técnicas e operacionais.

A Speech Emotion Recognition Approach Using Discrete Wavelet Transform and Deep Learning Techniques in a Brazilian Portuguese Corpus
The study of emotion encompasses the human mind's cognitive processes and psychological states. With the rapid advancement and declining costs of technology, researchers have become increasingly focused on capturing voice, gestures, facial expressions, and other expressions of emotion. In this study, we combine a Deep Learning model with the Wavelet Transform technique for the task of Speech Emotion Recognition, which aims to detect and identify emotions in informal and spontaneous speech, part of a Brazilian-Portuguese corpus, achieving a macro F1-score of 0.566 and a ROC-AUC score of 0.7217 on the CORAA database, while surpassing the results achieved in another work presented at the International Conference on Computational Processing of Portuguese Language 2022, which uses the same architecture together with transfer learning techniques, by up to 11% macro F1. Our methodology integrates a deep learning model with advanced signal processing techniques. Specifically, we leverage a pre-trained large-scale neural network architecture tailored for audio analysis, incorporating Discrete Wavelet Transform and Mel Spectrogram features to enhance the model’s performance. Additionally, we apply the SpecAugment technique for effective data augmentation. Our approach is positioned as the second-best overall and the top-performing method among those that do not utilize open-set techniques, such as using other datasets or using transfer learning techniques during the model training, while being one of the few works that excelled the proposed baselines when compared with the works presented at the event
