    No full text
Public spaces are in constant evolution, shaping human relationships and being transformed by them. Recognizing the importance of public spaces as powerful transformers of social relations, we seek to reflect on public spaces and their uses by LGBTQIA+ individuals, examining their spatial presence in the city of Chapecó/SC and their connection with spaces of LGBTQIA+ representation. To this end, an online survey was conducted, allowing us to characterize the target population and map their spaces of representation. Among various findings, heterocisnormative conservatism emerged as the main obstacle to social relations among the LGBTQIA+ community in the public spaces analyzed. Just for the Money:: circus lives and contemporaneity

    No full text
This article analyzes circus life as a model of adaptation to the tensions of contemporary life, characterized by the increasing dissolution of the boundaries between the work and personal spheres. Through the knowledge passed down from generation to generation in the circus tradition, we examine how this space configures practical tools to face uncertainty. Likewise, the art of circus, through its everyday patterns of communication and comprehension of the environment, is positioned as a critical questioning of traditional narratives about work, community and belonging, and at the same time it is proposed as a representative example of emerging ways of life

CorpoBrasilities in the Circus Ring:: Afro-Brazilian toys in the creative and pedagogical processes of the circus artist

    No full text
This article discusses how Afro-Brazilian cultural ancestry should be a fundamental creative pedagogical assumption in the training of Brazilian circus artists in contemporary times, in an anti-colonial aesthetic-political positioning. It starts with two questions: How to use Afro-Brazilian techniques such as capoeira in the training of the artist and his/her circus acts in contemporary times? What can be understood as a pedagogical and creative decolonization of Brazilian circus art, respecting its ancient tradition? The risk, the playfulness and the appreciation of cultural reality are common points that strategically enhance Brazilianness and its corporeality, as well as circus arts

For a Vague Writing:: contemplation and (re)generation

    No full text
This article is a reflective dialog between artists/educators/researchers from various Brazilian institutions integrating ecoperformances and Somatics in Artistic Practice as Research. A vagal movement as writing, based on the contemplation of the generative impulse present in ecoperformative practices, shifts the group from an environmental immersion to a textual immersion. The attentional supports - somatic rest, dynamic pause, and tensional contemplation - attune with diverse immersive contexts - geoecological performance, virtual ecoperformance, staging and ecoperformative news. There is a summoning to the field of ecoperformance and Somatics, so the research’s written outwarding is guided by the mobilizing principles of the somatic-performative practice, within an ecocentric ethics
