OSTEOSSARCOMA FIBROBLÁSTICO DE TÍBIA COM TRATAMENTO DE LIMB-SPARING EM GOLDEN RETRIEVER
Background: Appendicular osteosarcoma is the most prevalent primary bone tumor in dogs. Radiographically, it typically exhibits a mixed pattern of osteolysis and osteoproliferation. Characteristic features include lytic and sclerotic lesions affecting all bone layers, periosteal reactions, and increased soft tissue volume surrounding the lesion. These radiographic changes aid in determining the lesion’s extent guide diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making. Limb-sparing surgery, which involves excision of the oncologic compartment and reconstruction using metallic or biological implants, offers outcomes comparable with those of limb amputation combined with chemotherapy.
Case: A 2.5-year-old Golden Retriever bitch was presented to the Veterinary Hospital of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at the Universidade Federal de Goiás (HV/EVZ/UFG) with progressive lameness and swelling in the left stifle region previous 3 months. Radiographic imaging revealed lytic lesions in the left tibia consistent with a bone neoplasm. Specifically, the images demonstrated well-circumscribed zones of bone lysis with defined margins, along with areas exhibiting a “moth-eaten” appearance affecting the epiphysis and metaphysis. Synovial effusion and increased soft tissue volume were also noted. Histopathological and immunohistochemical evaluations confirmed the diagnosis of fibroblastic osteosarcoma. After discussing the available options, the veterinary team and the dog’s guardian opted for limb-sparing surgery. The procedure involved an osteotomy with resection of the tumor-involved segment and joint arthrodesis using a metallic implant. Two months postoperatively, the patient was brought back to hospital with a tibial fracture. Follow-up thoracic radiographs revealed pulmonary metastases. In light of the poor prognosis, euthanasia was recommended and subsequently performed.
Discussion: Accurate interpretation of the diverse radiographic presentations of appendicular osteosarcoma is essential for diagnosis and treatment planning. Although radiographic findings may initially appear purely lytic or sclerotic, a mixed pattern is more typical and should be carefully differentiated from early-stage osteomyelitis. Histopathological and immunohistochemical analyses are often required to determine the histogenesis of poorly differentiated neoplasms, particularly when morphology alone is inconclusive. While limb-sparing surgery is a viable alternative to amputation in selected canine patients with appendicular osteosarcoma, careful case selection is essential to reduce the risk of complications. Advanced imaging modalities are recommended for precise surgical planning and disease staging. Despite the prevalence of appendicular osteosarcoma in dogs, long-term survival remains a significant clinical challenge. In this case, the dog survived for 2 months following surgery before experiencing local recurrence and pulmonary metastasis. Radiographic imaging was instrumental not only in initial diagnosis but also in guiding surgical strategy and monitoring postoperative outcomes. Effective clinical management of osteosarcoma requires a multidisciplinary approach involving veterinary oncologists, surgeons, radiologists and pathologists. A comprehensive, team-based strategy is critical to optimizing therapeutic success and improving survival outcomes in affected patients.

In this work, we discuss two biographies that have presented the life of Ramon Llull. We try to identify each one’s particularities on their describing and characterizing their subject. The way these elements are taken and reorganized, we argue, tell us about the political and intellectual projects of each one of the selected works’s authors and masterminds. First we analyze the biography composed on behalf of Llull’s disciple Thomas Le Myésier (?-1336). Finally, we discuss the Vita Beati Raimundi, written in 1511 by the french intellectual Charles de Bovelles (1479-1553) aiming to defend and revitalize Llull’s thinking in Paris. Our aim is to show that at each time a source is taken up, it implies news ways of interpretation which are developed in accordance to the political context and individual that retake it. So, we argue that it’s the present who build and interprets the past.
The text aims to challenge the images of Black bodies in Geography textbooks through the discourse of colorism in order to subjectivize students' Blackness. It is necessary to understand the textbook as a cultural artefact, a strategic means of shaping perception, categorization, interpretation and collective memory, making the textbook a delineator of identities that produces and reproduces collective memories. In order to achieve the objectives of this work, we rely on the methodological path of post-critical research because it calls for a reflexive perspective on the contexts and realities presented, making it possible to break away from the colonial vision that runs through our subjectivities and prevents the production of binary and fixed research. The previous theoretical references for this research will be drawn upon Ethnic-Racial Studies, Decolonial Studies and Post-Critical Studies based on authors such as Cida Bento, Sueli Carneiro, Renato Émerson dos Santos, Marlucy Alves Paraíso, Wenceslao Machado de Oliveira Jr, Michel Foucault, among other researchers who have contributed to this research. Initial observations in the textbooks show that colorism and racism are still present, based on a colonial discourse in which images of Black bodies are treated differently based on the shade of their skin, appearing through the process of whitening and segregation of the Black population, valuing the ideal of whiteness and denying an identity based on Blackness.
MAINSTREAMING SECURITY NORMS AS JAPANESE STRATEGY TO GAIN ITS GLOBAL POWER: A CONTENT ANALYSIS ON ODA DOCUMENTS
Japan's defeat in World War II did not discourage its obsession to become a global power that influences the behaviour of other countries and the world order at large. Following World War II, despite being constrained by the 1947 Constitution, Japan emerged as an economic agent capable of playing a significant role on the global stage through economic and cultural instruments. Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) has become one of the key tools for Japan to actively participate and contribute to current global politics. This article aims to identify Japan's strategy in using ODA to maintain its influence as a global power. Using content analysis of 2015 ODA Charter or Development Cooperation Charter (DCC) and the White Paper on Development Cooperation (WPDC), this article finds that Japan's strategy to maintain its influence at the global level is carried out by prioritising human security norms in ODA distribution. The Japanese government consistently applies normative and operational norms regarding human security rather than national security to ensure acceptance from recipient countries. These efforts begin with the development of Japan's legal governance framework, which is designed in a smart, systematic, objective, and visionary manner. Japan demonstrates how a country facing constitutional constraints can become a stable global power

CRÔNICAS INDÍGENAS PARA LER E REFLETIR NA ESCOLA : DECOLONIALIDADE E RESISTÊNCIA INDÍGENAS
Due to the implementation of coloniality, African and Indigenous populations were enslaved and dehumanized with the purpose of maintaining the white European society in control of the means of production and social relations. In Brazil, many Indigenous ethnic groups were decimated or forcibly removed from their territories to make way for agricultural, pastoral, and mining activities. In order to legitimize such practices, it was (and still is) necessary to uphold this ideology. To confront these ideals and the principles that sustain them, the book Crônicas indígenas para ler e refletir na escola, written by the Indigenous author Munduruku (2020), aims at to explain how coloniality and racialization mechanisms operate within Brazilian society to preserve the political and economic dominance of European hegemony Furthermore, the texts in the analyzed book contribute to the dismantling of these concepts and encourage new ways of understanding the perspectives that continue to shape contemporary society. This study is based on bibliographical research and descriptive analysis, drawing on scholars whose works address not only decoloniality but also themes such as racialization and necropolitics.
Understanding Rights, Knowledge, and Wisdom “Stolen” from Traditional PeoplesAbstract: This article aims to discuss and understand traditional peoples from the perspective of the predatory practices that “steal” rights, knowledge, and wisdom from groups that maintain their resilience through ancestral knowledge passed down through the defense of indigenous territories, the presence of differentiated education schools, and the art that “instructs” the daily struggle of indigenous peoples. It analyzes the contributions to the dossier entitled “Stolen Rights,” Traditional Knowledge and Wisdom, highlighting the correlations present among the works submitted to Espaço Ameríndio (Amerindian Space) as a response to the call/provocation made to the journal's audience.
Social Housing Projects (HIS) are essential for reducing Brazil’s housing deficit. However, constructability problems can undermine the efficiency achieved in those projects, negatively affecting the purpose of having low cost. One approach for reducing constructability issues is to use constructability assessment systems (CAS). Existing CAS lack data that allow for setting goals, or even studies that provide an overview of constructability in HIS in each country. Thus, the aim of this research study is to develop a quantitative benchmarking constructability system for HIS. This study was based on data from 394 projects. The development of this quantitative benchmarking system pointed out the potential for improving constructability in those projects, by adopting different measures, such as the use of BIM, changing construction processes, and achieving appropriate levels of standardization. This system can support companies that wish to improve the constructability in HIS projects, by reducing the bias of evaluating only their own data, or Brazilian HIS financial institutions. This benchmarking system represents a theoretical-practical advance in the knowledge about constructability, given that similar studies are limited or non-existent in other countries.
