Gizonezkoen futbol talde profesionalen portaera kolektiboaren analisia

    No full text
Lan honen helburua Espainiako futbol profesionaleko lehen mailako taldeen portaera kolektiboa aztertzea izan zen. Horretarako, 5.518 jarduera aztertu ziren 2011-12tik 2018-19ra. Taldeak lau multzotan banatu ziren, txapelketako azken sailkapenaren arabera: Europa (1-6), Erdi-Altua (7-11), Erdi-Baxua (12-17) eta Jaitsiera (18-20). Emaitza nagusiak hurrengoak izan ziren: talde guztiek balio nabarmen txikiagoak erakutsi zituzten (p < 0,05) aztertutako aldagai guztietan (zabalera, luzera, altuera eta atezainaren eta bere taldeko jokalaririk hurbilenaren arteko distantzia) Europako aurkarien aurka jokatu zutenean. Badirudi aurkariaren kalitateak eragina izan zuela taldeen jardueran, eta, beraz, ezinbestekoa izango da taldeen portaera kolektiboa aurkariaren arabera testuinguruan jartzea

News with artificial intelligence: Perception and Impact on Audiences and Professionals after a Radio Experiment

    No full text
[EN] This article analyses a pioneering radio experiment in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) conducted by the Basque public broadcaster in Basque, Euskal Irrati Telebista (EiTB), located in Spain. The initiative involved automating the generation of news texts and cloning human voices for news narration in the program Faktoria. Methodology. The research combines qualitative and quantitative methodologies to assess the detectability of automated content by the audience, as well as the perceptions and attitudes of listeners and media professionals towards the use of this technology. Results and conclusions. The results show that most listeners did not detect the presence of AI in the aired pieces, suggesting a high degree of technological mimicry. However, emotional values attributed to the automated voice, such as closeness and involvement, received lower ratings, indicating an emotional disconnection in the reception of AI generated content. On a professional level, journalists expressed feelings of unease about the possibility of losing control over certain creative processes but also recognized the advantages of AI in automating routine tasks. Original contribution. This study is pioneering in evaluating the use of artificial intelligence in the creation of radio content in a minority language like Basque, with a particular focus on the detectability of the content and providing new insights into its impact on both audiences and professionals.[ES] Este artículo analiza un experimento radiofónico pionero en el uso de inteligencia artificial (IA) llevado a cabo por la emisora pública vasca en euskera Euskal Irrati Telebista (EiTB), situada en España.

Uncovering the neural correlates of the urge- to- blink: A study utilising subjective urge ratings and paradigm free mapping

    No full text
Avaialble online July 7 2025Neuroimaging plays a significant role in understanding the neurophysiology of Tourette syndrome (TS), in particular the main symptom, tics, and the urges associated with them. Premonitory urge is thought to be a negative reinforcer of tic expression in TS. Tic expression during neuroimaging is most often required as an overt marker of increased urge- to- tic, which can lead to considerable head movement, and thus data loss. This study aims to identify the brain regions involved in urge in healthy subjects using multi- echo functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and a timing- free approach to localise the blood- oxygen level- dependent (BOLD) response associated with the urge- to- act without information of when these events occur. Blink suppression is an analogous behaviour that can be expressed overtly in the MRI scanner which gives rise to an urge like those described by individuals with TS. We examined the urge- to- blink in 20 healthy volunteers with an experimental paradigm including two conditions, “Okay to blink” and “Suppress blinking”, to identify brain regions involved in blink suppression. Multi- echo fMRI data were analysed using a novel approach to investigate the BOLD signal correlated with the build- up of the urge- to- blink that participants continuously reported using a rollerball device. In addition, we used the method of multi- echo paradigm free mapping (MESPFM) to identify these regions without prior specification of task timings. Subjective urge scores were correlated with activity in the right posterior and ventral- anterior insula as well as the mid- cingulate and occipital cortices. Whereas blink suppression was associated with activation in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, cerebellum, right dorsal- anterior insula, mid- cingulate cortex, and thalamus. These findings illustrate that different insula subregions contribute to the urge- for- action and suppression networks. The MESPFM approach showed co- activation of the right insula and cingulate cortex. The MESPFM activation maps showed the highest overlap with activation associated with blink suppression, as identified using general linear model analysis, demonstrating that activity associated with suppression can be determined without prior knowledge of task timings.Data collection for this paper was supported by research grants from NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre, Tourettes Action (TA), Medical Research Council (MRC) (T032588), and Tourette Association of America (TAA). Landscape with Figures: A Methodology to Revitalize Post-WWII Collective Housing

    No full text
Mass social housing built after the World War II is progressively at risk due to a lack of recognition, obsolescence, and insufficient preservation strategies. They were a pivotal innovation in shaping urban environments, introducing cuttingedge design solutions despite economic and material constraints. This research examines how heritage values and user comfort can be balanced to safeguard these architectural sites. Focusing on six case studies in Madrid, Milan, and Vilnius, the study analyzes both protected and unprotected sites to understand how heritage designation influences their evolution. By establishing a systematic framework through a multi-layered methodology integrating technical, sociocultural, and comparative analyses, the research identifies key elements that contributed to the original comfort of these spaces and evaluates their current state. The comfort assessed is not strictly physical; rather, atmospheric comfort is defined by sensory experiences and human perspectives. The proposed methodology sets the basis for a different analysis of postwar social housing in order to develop action plans that safeguard the heritage values identified. Additionally, a novel Heritage-User Balance Index is introduced to measure the urgency of intervention to preserve the heritage values while ensuring user comfort. The findings contribute to ongoing discussions on heritage conservation, emphasizing the importance of subjective comfort as a fundamental criterion for safeguarding and revitalizing modernist housing environments

    No full text
The Odyssey has conveyed the image of the Cyclops as a monstrous being, both in terms of his appearance and his behaviour. However, the mythological comedy revisits Odysseus' encounter with Polyphemus by transforming this monstrous being, a barbarian with no manners, into a refined gourmet who carefully prepares the human delicacies he is about to consume. Our study focuses on the variations that the theme of the monster's transformation underwent from the earliest examples in the Sicilian comedy of Epicarmus to the Middle Comedy, in which it shares features with the character of the cook.Proyectos de Investigación TRANSMYTH (PID2019-104998GB-I00) y RES ALIMENTARIA (PID2021-122873NB-I00), financiados por el MICINN

Dynamic Positioning Training and Certification Scheme: Overview and Prospects

    No full text
Dynamic positioning operators must follow a training scheme developed by The Nautical Institute to obtain their license. The training scheme comprises two courses (basic and simulator) and two periods of dynamic-positioning training on board, which is recorded in a logbook. The documentation is carefully double-checked when these are completed before issuing the certificate. This paper aims to present the details of this training, currently covered in Section B of the International Convention on the Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping (STCW), and to predict how the system would work if the scheme is referred to in Section A of the same Convention. The Dynamic Positioning training and certification scheme will be compared to other micro qualifications detailed in Section A of the STCW convention to achieve this prediction. The following items will be evaluated: access to the course, instructor's eligibility, control of materials and equipment, updating of the lesson plan, and certification control. The results show that the Dynamic positioning training scheme is much superior in all the researched categories due to the rapid capacity for updating the materials and for the strict controls placed in lieu by The Nautical Institute to accredit training centres, including equipment and personnel, and especially the certificate-issuing system, keeping frauds to a minimum

Self-configurable Manufacturing Industrial Agents (SMIA): a standardized approach for digitizing manufacturing assets

    No full text
The integration of heterogeneous industrial assets into flexible and distributed manufacturing environments remains a fundamental challenge in the evolution of Industry 4.0. Although standardization efforts – such as the Asset Administration Shell (AAS) and the Capability-Skill-Service (CSS) model promoted by the Plattform Industrie initiative, the OWL ontology language promoted by W3C, and the FIPA Agent Communication Language promoted by IEEE – offer structured frameworks for interoperability, their combined application still presents unresolved implementation challenges. This paper introduces SMIA (Self-configurable Manufacturing Industrial Agents), a dual-layer solution that operationalizes these standards by converging semantic modeling and distributed software execution. First, SMIA proposes a methodology for characterizing proactive AAS by enriching their descriptions with an OWL ontology based on the CSS model. Second, it provides a software toolchain that automatically generates Digital Twins –implemented as FIPA-compliant industrial agents using SPADE – from these enriched AAS descriptions. The resulting agents can react to external events, coordinating with peers and executing domain-specific skills within a standardized I4.0 communication framework. Built following an Open Source Software Engineering approach, SMIA leverages mature tools such as Eclipse BaSyx, OWLReady2 and SPADE, showcasing a replicable and extensible approach to the adoption of industrial standards in practice. A preliminary validation in a robotic logistics scenario demonstrates its feasibility and adaptability. This work was supported by the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) [grant number PIF23/223] and by the European Regional Development Fund [grant number POCTEFA 2021-2027 EFA030/01 AgriPower]
