Today’s society is facing a major environmental crisis that not only aggravates the economic and
social gap between the world’s populations, making it even more difficult to access resources such
as water and food, but also affects the daily experience of most people. In addition to climate change,
there are many environmental problems that our society is facing, to name a few: air pollution, noise
pollution, soil pollution, water pollution etc. In the face of all these changes and this strong crisis, the
concept of sustainability has spread as we have begun to think about the importance of our choices
and the possibilities that we have to change the world. Faced with this crisis, it became clear that a
balance must be struck between human development and the protection of the natural environment.
Young people, much more than the older, feel the weight of the critical environmental situation.
These changes take place around contemporary society, an extremely individualistic society, the "here
and now" society. A society that must be re-educated. This determines the need to turn our gaze
towards future generations, those who will have to become “green”, or must take over a model of life
and development respectful of the environment and promoter of sustainability. To be clear, it is
necessary to clarify that environmental sustainability refers to the ability to maintain reproducibility
and quality of various natural resources. It is a complex and multidimensional concept, one that goes
beyond the environment in its broadest sense but also includes economic and social dimensions. Due
to this complexity, it is not easy to talk about these issues in school, but it is essential to bring every
single nuance of this concept within the school so that tomorrow’s citizens can be trained with an
articulated vision of the world around them to actively give life to a sustainable future.
The environmental sustainability education that must be promoted in schools, in our specific case we
will address primary school and first grade secondary school, must therefore include all these
nuances. The following doctoral thesis addresses the problem of Environmental Sustainability
Education in a curricular key. The aim of this thesis was to try to build a rigorous instrument supported
by a valid scientific statute, that is a curriculum for Environmental Sustainability Education that was
formally relevant, consistent with the curricula already existing in schools and applicable, or actually
available at school. Once our second level cuirriculum had been built, it was then tested, through
focus groups, questionnaires and classroom experiments, and the goal we set ourselves was,
according to our survey sample, achieved. The future objective will be to extend this curriculum by
focusing on the evaluation aspect
A Unique Case of ′in Situ’ Bifluoride Triggered Formation of Supramolecular Organogels Using Isophthalamide Hydrogen Bond Donating Receptors
: A novel isopthalamide based receptor H2L2 featuring two p-benzoic acid units has been synthesised and its anion binding properties analysed by 1H-NMR spectroscopy in DMSO-d6/0.5 % H2O. As expected, in the presence of tetrabutylammonium (TBA) fluoride the deprotonation of the carboxylic acid moieties was observed. However, the deprotonated receptor L22- was able to bind the in situ formed HF2 - via the formation of H-bonds with the amide NHs. When H2L2 was dissolved in THF and 4 equivalents of TBAF were added in CH3CN a unique sol-gel transition occurred giving rise to a stable thixotropic supramolecular gel. Theoretical calculations elucidated the gelation mechanism and strongly support the findings observed experimentally

Perceived psychic distance and global sourcing processes in the Italian craft beer sector
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine the global sourcing process of Italian craft microbreweries, particularly by identifying the main antecedents leading to the perception of psychic distance. The study also examines how perceived psychic distance affects the selection of intermediaries and the intention to maintain these relationships, with a specific focus on how intermediaries bridge cultural and logistical gaps in
international business.
Design/methodology/approach – The paper employs a qualitative research methodology and adopts a multiple case study approach, focusing on seven small breweries located in central Italy. The study applies thematic analysis to identify and examine key themes and sub-themes related to global sourcing processes, perceived psychic distance and the role of intermediaries. Additionally, the adoption of network theory provides deeper
insights into the relationships between breweries, suppliers and intermediaries.
Findings – Results reveal that perceived psychic distance significantly affects global sourcing decisions, with cultural differences, regulatory barriers and communication challenges emerging as critical factors. Intermediaries play a crucial role in facilitating transactions, building trust and providing logistical support. The study highlights the importance of cultural competence, effective communication strategies and trustbuilding
in mitigating the adverse effects of psychic distance.
Research limitations/implications – Limitations are primarily related to the geographical origin of the sample, which is limited to regions in central Italy. Despite this, the study provides valuable insights for craft breweries and other small businesses engaged in international trade. Moreover, it emphasizes the critical role of intermediaries in reducing perceived distance and effectively managing global supply chains.
Originality/value – The study explores a topic largely overlooked in the literature, particularly regarding the analysis of perceived psychic distance, its antecedents and its impact on intermediary selection within the craft beer sector. Additionally, the paper offers valuable guidelines for specific categories of stakeholders (i.e. local intermediaries, foreign suppliers and Italian firms producing raw materials) and provides
actionable insights for practitioners, including strategies for supplier selection, quality control and effective communication
"Prefazione" al volume Forme della narrazione. Spazio, memoria, identità tra pratica letteraria e pensiero educativo
Siamo ciò che narriamo. La nostra identità si compone di
storie: storie autobiografiche, reali o immaginate, che
raccontiamo a noi stessi e che ci rendono ciò che siamo nello
spazio in cui viviamo.
Vissuti e storie passate, riflessioni attuali e atteggiamenti,
This study was undertaken with the aim of furthering research into university didactics, a field in which the complex figure of the academic teacher is traditionally focused on research activity, often to the detriment of teaching practice. Faculty Development, in the Italian context, represents a relatively recent field of investigation, which aims to promote and develop a didactic culture through systemic interventions involving all the academic members of a university.
Among the strategic actions of Faculty Development is the training of university lecturers; for this reason, a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) has been designed, structured on the basis of the European DigCompEdu framework, with the aim of supporting the development of the teaching skills of newly hired university lecturers at the University of Urbino.
The study explored the effectiveness of the MOOC as an online training tool, evaluating its accessibility and usability from a Faculty Development perspective. The course was attended by 64 participants, 16 of whom completed the entire course and received a final certificate.
Various survey tools were used to assess the effectiveness of the MOOC, including the Technology Enhanced Teaching Self-Assessment Tool (TET-SAT), two specially designed questionnaires, the Intrapersonal Technology Integration Scale (ITIS), data provided by the Moodle platform, and feedback from a panel of international experts commissioned to evaluate the course.
This experimentation made it possible to describe MOOCs as an effective training device for preparing university lecturers, emphasising the key role of digital technologies in supporting teaching. In particular, in the contemporary context, such technologies are proving to be crucial not only for improving the training offered to lecturers, but also for promoting the development of teaching and digital skills needed to improve the quality of university teaching. The use of Faculty Development thus offers significant potential for expanding educational opportunities and raising the quality of university teaching, benefiting all faculty members of the academic institution.
It is of great importance to continue researching Faculty Development and the integration of digital technologies in higher education, considering the positive impact these initiatives can have in enhancing teaching practices and raising educational standards in universities
This study investigates the reemergence and evolution of the tutela mulierum (guardianship of women) in Rome between the late Middle Ages and the seventeenth century, with a focus on the period following the 1521 statutory reforms, highlighting the intertwining of written law and practice. After examining the ancient Roman origin of the guardianship institution and its decline in the age of the principality, the investigation begins by noting the absence of explicit limitations on female dispositive capacity in medieval Roman statutes and the finding, through the analysis of notarial papers, of a more restrictive practice. The study then examines the imposition, from the late fifteenth century, of stricter legal limitations on women sui iuris. In particular, the Statuta Urbis (the municipal statutes of Rome), enacted in 1521 mandated that women obtain the consent of two relatives and the authorization of the judge to contract validly. The case of Camilla Mattei, a Roman noblewoman who obtained an exception to the new statutory provisions from Clement VII in 1526, highlights the complexity of the relationship between written law and living law and underlines the importance of papal dispensation power in the application of the norms. The analysis of the debates between Roman jurists of the seventeenth century and the evolution of the jurisprudence of the Roman Rota (Rota Romana) shows how the interpretation of the statutory restrictions on the legal capacity of women gradually shifted in Rome from a rigid adherence to the letter of the city statute to a more flexible approach, which considered the specific circumstances of each case and the importance of the cause in assessing the validity of the acts. Overall, the study contributes to a deeper understanding of the interplay between written and living law, as well as the evolution of gender relations in Rome between the Middle Ages and the early modern era. //
