The Approach of Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) to the Gender Equality Certification System UNI/PdR 125:2022
No full textIn 2022, the Italian government introduced a national gender equality (GE) certification system called UNI/PdR 125:2022 Practice. Its objective is to promote the adoption of gender equality policies in enterprises and provide guidelines for setting up a management system for an inclusive and gender-equal workplace. Due to the recent introduction of the UNI/PdR 125:2022 Practice, research on this subject is still minimal. This research contributes to filling this gap by exploring the approach of Italian small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) toward this tool in order to understand if its purpose, potential, and actual benefits have been fully grasped. A survey has been conducted covering six manufacturing and service sectors with a female- or male-dominated workforce to compare approaches from different organizations. The administration of the survey took place by CAWI and CATI in December 2023, involving 866 companies and reaching a response rate of 11.5%. The sample is stratified by sectors and geographical localization. The findings show that gender equality certification is little widespread among Italian SMEs. Only 2.7% of the sample are UNI/PdR 125:2022 certified. Additionally, Italian SMEs know a little about the practice of UNI/PdR 125:2022 but less about the public benefits and incentives to support the certification process. The main driver of the certification process is the willingness to promote a fair and inclusive working environment for Italian SMEs. Therefore, the top management’s or the entrepreneur’s will to move in this direction can make a difference. The main perceived benefits are improving the company’s image, reputation, and work environment. However, SMEs see the high cost of getting certified and uncertainty about the effectiveness of certification as the main barriers. Thus, the results indicate the UNI/PdR 125:2022’s possible positive impact on the company but, at the same time, the companies’ low awareness of gender certification systems and their low propensity toward this tool

No full textThis paper aims to construct an ontology grounded in the interpretation of Relational Quantum Mechanics, which serves as a robust framework for a realist interpretation of quantum mechanics without the need for additional theoretical constructs. Using the notion of relational properties, we formulate Relational Quantum Mechanics’s ontology. Our analysis highlights the ontological significance of Rovelli (Int. J. Theor. Phys., 35, 1637–1678, 1996)’spostulates. Moreover, we apply this ontological perspective to quantum mechanics paradoxes and show that it provides new insights into those paradoxes, underscoring Relational Quantum Mechanics explanatory power

Yet, considering the role that space plays in the philosophy of both, it is possible not only to point beyond this opposition. The mediality of space, its natural schematic property, makes it possible to identify a significant proximity between space as a pure form of sensibility and the pure perception with which Bergson opens Matter and Memory. The aim of the article is to argue in favour of this kinship by considering above all the role that space plays in the first edition of the Fourth Paralogism of Pure Reason and in the Opus postumum through the filter of the arguments used by Bergson, in the third chapter of Creative Evolution, to demonstrate the simultaneous genesis of matter and intelligence

No full textDrawing on the texts collected in the eighth part of the Book of Painting, the concept of the horizon is examined in Leonardo’s thought, emphasizing both its internal differentiation and its organicity. The horizon plays a role in Leonardo’s worldview that is both strictly scientific-astronomical, related to optics, and aesthetic-representational, related to the “science of painting”. In relation to colours, outlines, and generally the visibility of objects in illuminated air, the horizon is a term from which all kinds of visual experience become possible. Finally, it is shown how Leonardo, by reflecting on this concept, intends to carry out an important reform of artificial perspective, rendering it capable of capturing phenomena in their real mode of appearance
