Il male è il tema nel quale letteratura e filosofia in questo libro si congiungono. Male, ovvero ciò che ferisce, avvilisce, addolora, tormenta e mortifica la condizione umana. Ogni autore filosofico presente in questo libro si impegna a riflettere su tale realtà e formula la sua ipotesi interpretativa a partire dalla provocazione/interrogazione/interpretazione del "suo" poeta. Visioni molto diverse, che mutano con le epoche e i contesti, ma con un elemento in comune: la relazionalità. Il male prende forma all’interno di una relazione, fra sé e l’altro o gli altri, fra sé e l’Altro, fra sé e sé stessi. A New Experimental Approach to Chemical Ageing in Materials and Piping for Drinking Water Infrastructure Exposed to Chlorine Dioxide
The long-term durability of polyethylene (PE) pipes in water distribution networks is gaining importance due to updated European regulations on drinking water safety. This study investigates the accelerated ageing of two PE grades (PE1 and PE2) exposed to chlorine dioxide (ClO2), a disinfectant known for its high efficacy and minimal formation of harmful by-products. Pilot-scale tests were conducted under realistic and dynamic conditions to
evaluate chemical, microstructural, thermal, and mechanical degradation. The experimental approach introduces a novel preliminary ageing protocol, integrating both micro- and macro-scale characterization of materials exposed to ClO2. Physicochemical analyses revealed a significant increase in the carbonyl index, particularly in PE1, which exhibited a higher oxidation rate (0.287 CI/CI0/day) compared to PE2 (0.216 CI/CI0/day). Crystallinity also increased by approximately + 4 % in PE1 and + 2 % in PE2. These changes were accompanied by a progressive decline in mechanical performance: between weeks 6 and 13, reductions in elongation at yield and ductility were observed. From week 12 onward, both materials failed to meet the mechanical conformity threshold defined by EN 12201–2:2024, with elongation at break falling below 350 %. Based on degradation kinetics, the estimated service life under real operating conditions was 18 years for PE1 and 23 years for PE2 at 40◦C. Artificial intelligence in accounting professions: The young chartered accountants' experience
This study investigates how young Chartered Accountants (CAs) approach AI in their
professional practices. Using a qualitative research design, data were collected through
semi-structured interviews with young Italian CAs. Findings highlight that AI adoption
among CAs follows two main approaches: horizontal and vertical. The horizontal ap
proach focuses on improving efficiency in routine or peripheral tasks (e.g., scheduling and
content creation) through self-directed learning and experimentation with general-purpose
AI tools. It represents an entry point into digital transformation, fostering AI literacy. The
vertical approach applies AI to strategic, high-value tasks (e.g., forecasting and market
analysis), requiring structured training in data analytics and predictive modelling. It re
flects a more profound professional evolution, where AI becomes a “cognitive assistant”
for decision-making, strategic analysis, and innovation. While both approaches offer sig
nificant benefits, they also share risks and challenges, including data privacy issues and
output reliability, and have a different impact on the CAs-Client relationships. The two
approaches are also analysed using a functional and an evolutionary perspective

Coordinated inauthentic behaviour on Facebook? A typology of manufactured attention
This paper advances the discourse on coordinated inauthentic behaviour (CIB) on Facebook by extending its study beyond deceptive influence operations. Using techniques developed for its technical analysis, we undertake an empirical study of CIB that surfaces not only such operations but predominantly others, particularly media groups sharing news stories, political activists sharing memes, advertising networks promoting gambling and cyber scams as well as large public groups hijacked to spread ads. Based on these findings, we develop a typology of manufactured attention and make a series of observations concerning the analytical ambiguity of measuring CIB through (timed) link-sharing. The first is the question of when coordinating actors and coordination behaviours cross the line into inauthenticity, which is of methodological interest for platform policies and platform policy observers. The second aspect concerns the evolution of Facebook's (later Meta's) policies with respect to CIB, especially how the platform has defined and described it. We conclude with the observation that Meta's narrowing definition allows for once-erstwhile CIB activities to remain on-platform
On the game of going green: How do consumers, firms, and banks struggle to escape environmental traps?
Pseudoboleite as an alteration product of azurite in the painted stone of the mullioned windows of the Bargello Palace (Florence)
During the recent restoration of the Bargello courtyard and façades (13th-14th century), initiated in 2020, traces of painted polychrome decoration were identified on Pietraforte intrados and extrados of the mullioned windows. On the stone intrados, blackish lozenge-shaped impressions –likely remnants of a metallic leaf– were against a pale blue background. To investigate the original materials and painting technique, a combination of non-invasive in situ methods (digital microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, and reflectance spectrometry) and micro-invasive analyses (optical microscope, micro-Raman, SEM-EDS, XRD, FT-IR, GC–MS, PY-GC–MS) was applied. The integrated analyses of the blue decorations revealed the presence of azurite, pseudoboleite and rare particles of lead white, along with Cu-oxalates and Ca-oxalates. The occurrence of pseudoboleite, a rare greenish mineral, suggests it formed as a result of alteration processes involving azurite and lead white, potentially triggered by chlorine-based cleaning treatments. Rare Hg-S-based particles, likely associated with vermilion, were identified in the extrados. Additionally, trace amounts of egg and a non-drying fat were detected
