Purpose-driven branding Il brand-activism: opportunità, rischi e impatto nella società contemporanea
Che cosa accade quando un brand decide di esporsi su temi che riguardano la società? Sempre più imprese scelgono di sostenere cause, prendere posizione su diritti e giustizia sociale, contribuire al dibattito pubblico. Questo impegno ha un nome: brand activism. Il volume esplora le origini e le caratteristiche di questo fenomeno, mostrando come l’attivismo stia ridefinendo identità, responsabilità e relazioni tra brand e consumatori. L’analisi intreccia prospettiva teorica, casi di successo e campagne controverse, fino a indagare empiricamente se e come l’attivismo possa proteggere un’impresa nei momenti di crisi. Al centro emergono parole chiave come autenticità, coerenza e rischio, elementi che distinguono l’attivismo da azioni filantropiche marginali o dalle pratiche tradizionali di responsabilità sociale d’impresa e ne fanno una strategia capace di generare fiducia, appartenenza e resilienza reputazionale. Chiudendo il libro, appare chiaro che il brand activism non può essere pensato come un trend passeggero né un’operazione di facciata: è un percorso che richiede visione, coraggio e responsabilità, ma che può offrire ai brand un nuovo ruolo nella società contemporanea

MONITORING AND FOLLOW-UP OF VITAMIN D SUPPLEMENTATION: EFFECTS ON BLOOD MARKERS AND PERFORMANCE IN RUNNERS AND NON-RUNNERS DURING AUTUMN AND WINTER SEASON

INTRODUCTION: Recent interest in vitamin D’s role in musculoskeletal and immune health prompted this study to assess how 2 months of supplementation affects serum vitamin D status, performance, and leukocyte parameters in healthy runners and non-runners, with a subsequent 3-month follow-up.
METHODS: Fifty-two participants were randomized into four groups—runners and non-runners, with or without daily sup
plementation of 2000 IU vitamin D (administered as orodispersible films). Assessments were conducted at baseline (October, T0), after 2 months (T1), and 3 months post supplementation (T2). Measurements included blood tests (25 hydroxyvitamin D in ng/mL and leukocyte counts), VO2max, maximal isometric force (MIF), and vertical jump (CMJ) perfor mance. Additionally, diet, training, local daily solar irradiation, and temperature were monitored.
RESULTS: Diet and training remained stable over the study period. Weather conditions were consistently sunny, with an average temperature of 20.0 ± 1.7 °C, daily solar irradiation of 15745.8 ± 1033.7 W/m2, and approximately 9.6 ± 0.8 hours of sunshine. Notably, both solar irradiation and temperature decreased significantly from October to January; thereafter, solar irradiation increased while temperature remained low until April. Supplemented runners showed a 20.82% increase in vitamin D (from 30.45 ± 7.0 to 35.35 ± 8.9 ng/mL, p<0.001), whereas non-supplemented runners did not exhibit a significant change at T1, and non-supplemented non-runners experienced a 32.23% decrease (from 25.93 ± 6.6 to 17.8 ± 7.3 ng/mL, p<0.001). At T2, vitamin D levels declined significantly in all groups (e.g., supplemented runners decreased from 35.35 ± 8.9 to 23.52 ± 5.6 ng/mL, p<0.001). Neutrophil counts varied significantly over time and by supplementation status (p=0.03): non-supplemented groups had progressive decreases (T0–T1: –12.37% and –14.50%; T0–T2:16.23% and –23.66%), while supplemented groups remained relatively stable (a slight increase at T1 followed by a non significant decrease at T2). No significant changes were observed in VO2max or CMJ, although MIF improved modestly in supplemented groups.
CONCLUSION: Two months of daily 2000 IU vitamin D supplementation effectively increased serum vitamin D levels and maintained stable leukocyte counts in both runners and non-runners. However, cessation led to significant declines by the 3-month follow-up, indicating that continued supplementation may be necessary. Interestingly, vitamin D levels in non supplemented subjects initially paralleled solar irradiation trends until January; subsequently, despite an increase in solar irradiation, persistently low temperatures appeared to sustain the decline in vitamin D levels. While supplementation improved vitamin D status and moderated immune responses, it did not affect VO2max or CMJ, and the modest improvement in MIF warrants further investigation

Entrepreneurial alertness, international performance, and the role of effectuation in SME internationalization
By shedding light on the often-overlooked early stages of opportunity development initiated by entrepreneurial alertness and its performance outcomes in an international setting, this study examines the interplay between alertness and two decision-making logics, effectual flexibility and causal prediction, in the context of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) internationalization. Leveraging structural equation modeling on a data set of 680 manufacturing SMEs across five countries, this study uncovers distinct effects: effectual flexibility moderates, while causal prediction mediates, the positive relationship between alertness and the international performance of SMEs. The research makes noteworthy contributions to international entrepreneurship literature by linking alertness with performance in the international context and disentangling the nuanced pathways through which SMEs can achieve success in the global arena

della Rivoluzione francese ha un volto preciso: Lady Oscar, il personaggio di un manga
pubblicato in Giappone dagli anni Settanta e approdato in Italia come anime nel 1982.
Lady Oscar è diventata più di un fenomeno mediatico: ha costruito un nuovo immaginario
e contribuito a rivedere i concetti di identità, eteronormatività e genere che i movimenti
degli anni Settanta in Italia avevano iniziato a decostruire.
Il Questo volume è un lavoro collettivo dedicato a Monia Andreani, filosofa femminista
scomparsa prematuramente nel 2018 e. Il volume si apre con il contributo di Andreani
sull’impatto che Lady Oscar ha avuto su intere generazioni. e Prosegue con interventi di
studiose, amiche, colleghe e compagne di vita di Monia, da cui dai quali emergono i suoi
legami affettivi e professionali anche nei confronti delle e degli studenti a cui aveva
indicato una via per analizzare il mondo in chiave di genere.
Il pensiero di Andreani si riverbera nei vari contributi attraverso un confronto costante con
la cultura popolare e le sfide dell’attualità, senza cedere alle semplificazioni che hanno
fatto delle questioni di genere una discussione da talk show, nascondendo la loro
potenzialità sovversiva.
Questo libro è dedicato a lei, a tutte le persone che l’hanno conosciuta e a chi non la
conosce ancora per raccogliere il suo testimone e proseguire con il viaggio di ricerca verso
la propria libertà
Genetic diversity, phylogenetic relationships and systematic revision of some Delimini (Gastropoda, Clausiliidae) from Mid-Mediterranean areas: new insights and biogeographic considerations
The genetic diversity of some representative taxa of the door snail tribe Delimini R. Brandt, 1956 (Clausiliidae) from the Mid-Mediterranean areas was investigated. The analysis was carried out on 60 cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) partial sequences from the genera Mauritanica O. Boettger, 1879; Sicania Tomlin, 1929; Siciliaria Vest, 1867; and Stigmatica O. Boettger, 1877 combined with 51 homologous sequences available for the same tribe retrieved from GenBank. Moreover, the shell and genital morphology of a few selected taxa were examined to redefine their systematic position. Key topics can be summarized as follows: (i) a revision of the phylogenetic relationships among Mauritanica, Sicania, Siciliaria, and Stigmatica is discussed; (ii) the new monospecific genus Benoitiella gen. n. is proposed for Mauritanica scarificata from the island of Marettimo; (iii) Mauritanica cossoni is re-allocated to the genus Siciliaria; (iv) within the genus Siciliaria, S. septemplicata and S. leucophryna revealed a more significant heterogeneity than expected so far; (v) Siciliaria leucophryna nordsiecki n. ssp. is described; (vi) a new systematics of the Siciliaria alcamoensis group is proposed; (vii) Siciliaria a. vigil n. ssp. and S. a. aegestana n. ssp. are described; (viii) the timing of the Delimini radiation in the Mediterranean is explored; and (ix) some biogeographic hypotheses on the origins and evolution of the taxa under study are suggested
