Discrimination of bosonic dephasing quantum channels
We study the possibility of discriminating between two bosonic dephasing
quantum channels. We show that unambiguous discrimination is not realizable.
We then consider discrimination with nonzero error probability and
minimize this latter in the absence of input constraints. In the presence of an
input energy constraint, we derive an upper bound on the error probability.
Finally, we extend these results from single-shot to multi-shot discrimination,
envisaging the asymptotic behavior
Trinuclear copper cluster-based COF with a high content of Cu–N2 single-atom sites: A multivariate signal-amplified photoelectrochemical aptasensor for the sensitive detection of mycotoxins
A novel amplified photoelectrochemical (PEC) aptasensor was developed based on the photoelectronic active and donor–acceptor (D–A) conjugated covalent organic framework (COF) for the efficient detection of zearalenone (ZEN). The D–A-conjugated COF synthesized through the reaction between trinuclear copper cluster (Cu3L3) and 4,4′,4′’-(1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triyl)trianiline (TAPT) (denoted as Cu3L3–TAPT–COF) comprised rich Cu–N2 single-atom sites and exhibited high photoactivity, narrow bandgap, and n-type semiconductor feature. It was simultaneously employed as PEC electrode and bioplatform for anchoring single-stranded DNA. Moreover, the p-type ZnIn2S4 semiconductor anchors hairpin probe strands that hybridized with the ZEN-target aptamer. By combining the target-modulated competitive binding method and the multivariate signal-amplified strategy, the Cu3L3–TAPT–COF-based PEC aptasensor exhibited a wide linear range from 0.1 pg mL−1 to 20 ng mL−1 and a low detection limit of 24 fg mL−1, along with excellent and widespread practical applicability, offering promising applications in food safety
Polyphenol extraction from Lacrima di Morro d’Alba grape pomace and Ascolana Tenera olive leaves as an effective recovery of agricultural side-streams
This study investigates green extraction methods for recovering bioactive compounds from grape pomace and olive leaves, aiming to enhance the valorization of agricultural side-streams within a sustainable framework. Conventional and innovative extraction techniques including liquid-solid extraction (SLE), ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE), microwave-assisted extraction (MAE), and supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) were evaluated to determine their efficacy in yielding polyphenols and antioxidants, with particular attention to flavonoids, anthocyanins, and phenolic acids. Findings demonstrate that UAE optimally recovers flavan-3-ols, phenolic acids, and as anthocyanins the malvidin-3-galactoside from Lacrima di Morro d’Alba grape pomace. Otherwise for Ascolana Tenera olive leaves there is not a clear selectivity of both pre-treatment and extraction procedures applied for the recovery of oleuropein, hydroxytyrosol and tyrosol. This work underscores the potential of agrifood
wastes to serve as renewable resources, fostering circular bioeconomy principles and contributing to environmental sustainability

Growth Performance, Carcass Traits and Meat Quality in Rabbits Fed with Two Different Percentages of Extruded Linseed
This study evaluated the effect of two levels of extruded linseed (EL) in the diet on growth performance, carcass yield, and meat quality of growing rabbits. Sixty-nine New Zealand White male rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) were assigned after weaning to three dietary groups: control (C), 2.5% EL (L2.5%), and 5% EL (L5%). At the end of the fattening period (from 37 to 93 days of age), rabbits were slaughtered. EL supplementation significantly reduced average daily weight gain (ADG) in the L5% group (p < 0.05), while other performance parameters were not significantly affected. Meat from the L5% group exhibited a higher fat content (p < 0.001) and lower water-holding capacity (p < 0.05) compared to the others. The fatty acid profile showed a significant increase in n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) and a decrease in n-6 PUFA (p < 0.05), resulting in a markedly reduced n-6/n-3 ratio (p < 0.001) in supplemented groups. EL supplementation also enhanced long-chain n-3 PUFA levels, particularly docosapentaenoic acid (DPA). Although lipid oxidation was slightly increased (p < 0.05), sensory attributes remained unaffected. These findings support EL supplementation as a nutritional strategy to increase the n-3 fatty acids in rabbit meat without compromising physical and sensory quality
Effects of Goji Berry Supplementation on Immune-Related and Antioxidant Gene Expression in the Male Rabbit Reproductive Tract
Goji berries (Lycium barbarum), rich in antioxidant and immunomodulatory compounds, have shown potential benefits for male reproductive health. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of dietary Goji berry (GB) supplementation on immune-related and antioxidant gene expression in the male reproductive tract of rabbits. Eighteen 7-month-old New Zealand White rabbit bucks were randomly assigned to two groups: a control group (n = 9) receiving a standard diet, and a Goji group (n = 9) receiving the same diet supplemented with 1% GB. After 60 days of nutritional adaptation and then 60 days of treatment, tissues from the testes, epididymis, seminal vesicles, prostate, and bulbourethral glands were collected and analyzed using quantitative real-time PCR. Gene expression analysis focused on immune markers (TLR4, IL-1β, IL-10, and TNFα) and antioxidant enzymes (SOD1, CAT, and GPX). Significant modulation was observed only in the epididymis, where TLR4 and GPX were significantly downregulated in the Goji group (p = 0.0274 and p = 0.007, respectively), while IL-1β and TNFα showed a downward trend. No significant differences were found in the other tissues. These results suggest that Goji berry supplementation exerts tissue-specific effects, particularly in the epididymis, by modulating inflammation and oxidative stress. This supports its potential use as a natural nutraceutical strategy to enhance male fertility in rabbits

Shake-Table Tests for Seismic Performance Assessment of Glass-Aluminium Partition Walls with Viscoelastic Dissipative Devices
This study illustrates the experimental validation of an innovative aluminiumglass
partition wall designed to withstand strong horizontal accelerations
without damage. The proposed solution features a high-dissipative rubber
interface between the aluminium frame and the glass panels, enabling
a dissipative mechanism activated by their relative motion. The testing
campaign includes small-scale material characterization and full-scale shaketable
tests on three-dimensional assemblies. The obtained experimental
results are discussed and compared to numerical predictions, demonstrating
that the proposed solution ensures damage-free performance, offering
a safer solution for glazing partition walls in seismic areas when compared
to conventional partition walls of the same typology
Il nuovo cognome della famiglia in Germania
The article offers a critical analysis of the 2024 German reform on family and children's surnames,
which will enter into force on 1 May 2025. Following a historical and comparative reconstruction of the
naming system in Europe, the new legal framework (§§ 1355 and 1616 et seq. BGB) is examined, with
particular attention to the enhanced freedom in choosing both the marital surname and the surname of the
child. The constitutional implications of the reform reflect the transformation of the surname from a
symbolic marker of familial unity into an instrument of personal self-determination. The inquiry concludes
with critical reflections on recent developments in the case law of the Italian Constitutional Court
concerning the law of names
Commento all'art.
