Exploring the relationship between Irish Times headlines and Irish Times stock exchange
This research studies the effect of headline risk on Irish Stock Market using Irish Times
headlines. For doing the same, it scrapes headlines from Irish times for "Bank of Ireland," one
of the oldest stocks in ISE, and extracts the stock prices from Yahoo Finance. Apart from
studying the aforementioned relationship, it aims to classify headlines into different polarity
groups, namely; Positive, Negative, and Neutral. It uses the CRISP-DM methodology, which
divided the whole project into six stages. For establishing a relationship between ISE and IT
headlines, this study uses sentimental analysis tool kit (nlkt) and one of its most advanced
library vader_lexicon, followed by the use of parametric statistical methods like t-test to reject
the hypothesis that there is no relationship between Price difference (the difference between
the ADJ closing price for the current day and previous day) and Polarity score( Company
sentimental score of headlines for every single day). For headline classification, the research
uses various text pre-processing techniques like Sentence Tokenization, Regular Expression,
Word Tokenization, and converting words into features. The preprocessed data is passed to
different probabilistic and nonprobabilistic Supervised machine learning classifiers to do a
comparative analysis between different classifiers. The comparative Analysis finds a surprising
result that nonprobabilistic algorithms perform much better than as compared to probabilistic
algorithms. But this made sense as Tableau insights established a strong parallel relationship
between Price distribution and the Number of headlines published for that date. This study
reveals that rapidminer is very user friendly as compared to Python but is very slow when it
comes to computation time. This research successfully establishes a relationship between Irish
times headlines and Irish stock Exchange
Mental health in primary school teachers: Depression, anxiety, stress and burnout in staff
The aim of this study was to investigate mental health in Irish primary school teachers: depression, anxiety, stress and burnout in staff. One hundred and eighty-seven primary school teachers across the Republic of Ireland took part in a survey which comprised of a demographic questionnaire, the DASS21 and The Oldenburg Inventory Scale. Quantitative analysis was conducted on data collected using SPSS statistics software and non-parametric tests were run to assess relationships between variables as data was non-normally distributed. The conclusion drawn from the results demonstrated a statistically significant relationship between female primary school teachers and stress in comparison to their male counterparts. Results also indicated a statistically significant relationship between levels of stress and teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs. Finally, results suggested that there was a statistically significant relationship between years of service and disengagement
Implication of job demands-resources model to high turnover and job dissatisfaction in the Irish workforce
This study set out to test whether stressful and demanding jobs lead to more employee related issues if left unanswered by the management. The focus of the study was to determine how highly demanding jobs can lead to increased anxiety and stress for employees. Employees then develop chronic health issues and impairments that impact their quality of life. With the help of secondary data analysis this study was able to narrow down its focus onto studying how workplace stress can impact job performance, employee burnout and health impairments. Primary data collection was done with the help of a digital survey distributed amongst 60 individuals. This study has concluded that high levels of stress in the workplace leads to better job performance, but in the long run this can lead to employee burnout and health impairments. In the long run too, much stress can cause high levels of distress in employees
A qualitative study on parents' awareness of online predatory behaviours
Among multiple risks children are exposed online, child sexual abuse saw a rapid growth in the last years. Children are groomed and sexually exploited across social media, online games and live streaming. The current study looked into parents' awareness of online predatory behaviours, focusing on above-mentioned spaces and online grooming. Five female parents took part in semi-structured interviews. The findings show that the participants see more risks than benefits for children being online, but underestimate riskiness of online games and live streaming. They are not always familiar with the concept of grooming, but have a good intuition which actions by online strangers are alarming. As a risk mitigation strategy they utilise physical presence, and count on building trust with a child as opposed to usage of parental control tools. This study lays a good foundation for qualitative and quantitative future research of multiple aspects of child safety online
The challenges of the digital age for French luxury fashion brands considering digital women on social networks
Luxury through its unique universe has always aroused envy and desire among
women. However, the advent of the digital age has disrupted the luxury sector. Therefore,
understanding the relationship that Digital Women have with luxury fashion brands on social
networks is a major issue in the implementation of digital marketing strategies of luxury
brands.
The present research relies on exploratory study with qualitative research made
through 10 semi-structured interviews of French Digital Women. Thematic analysis of findings
defines Digital Women and reveals the main factors to engage them on social networks, in
particular through real-time, light-hearted and behind the scenes content, influencers
partnerships, less tradition, honouring the designer, and sharing values and commitments
while exploring new visions.
With an asserted and well-known positioning for many years, luxury brands should
have a new function in the digital age, entertaining on social networks with inspiring content
that break the codes of luxury
Results tracker app and deployment on EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service)
The main project aim was to build a useful app and deploy it on the cloud. The app is to firstly enter the result you want to achieve and as you go, update it with your results as you go through your course and the result that you need to achieve next to maintain your target result will be updated. Once the application was built and connected to Amazon RDS (SQL Server database), the next step was to build a docker image, deploy this image on my local machine, then move it to ECR (Elastic Container Service) (similar to Dockerhub but on AWS). The last step was to move it to the EKS service (Elastic Kubernetes Service) to run on a kubernetes cluster spread across 3 availability zones
Role of communication in maintaining quality and timely delivery of IT project activities
Maintaining Quality and Timely Delivery of IT Project Activities. Communications play a major role in any project's progress. Communication skills are the main factor for project progress in any successful project where project management seemed to be completed. Therefore, in the case of medium complexity, maintenance project and innovation cycle, communication is very critical. Contact is described as "lively communicator addresses others and wins support," then contact encourages staff and audience as well as accessibility. Internal and external contact are very critical for project success. External communication is related with managing the flow of information or managing communication to satisfy the demands of external stakeholders, whereas internal communication is the interaction of employees inside the project.
The research uses in-depth semi-structured interview, which is a qualitative method. Interviews involved project managers, Business Analysts, Data Architects from different IT organizations. The interviews were conducted through social platforms like LinkedIn, Google forms and then transcribed and analysed according to the thematic analysis. This research heavily focusses on how communication strategies can be effectively deployed in IT Projects?
The researcher through secondary research, which is supported through primary research, acknowledges the need of two important theories that should be acknowledged by virtual team projects i.e. Diffusion theory and communication accommodation theory. Advancement in the present communication technologies such as slack, Ryver, Lync and Zoom has a more profound positive effect in the success and development of effective communication strategies.
In conclusion, the researcher recognizes the importance of having an effective communication strategy to ensure IT projects are delivered in quality and timely manner and how the role of having new tools and technologies in place will help in designing an effective communication plan. The researcher also performs research on the features of some of the latest tools and technologies that are available in market and collects the feedback from industry experts on key barriers that will forbid IT companies to implement these future communication technologies
An exploration of ‘earned-secure’ attachment and the role of attachment-informed psychotherapy
It is believed that up to 35% of the global population falls within the insecure categories of
attachment, and that these insecurely attached individuals make up the majority of
psychotherapy clients. Whilst research supports the stability of attachment patterns across the
lifespan, as well as their transmission intergenerationally, a promising recent finding of
attachment research is the discovery of a group in adult attachment studies termed “earnedsecure”.
This group includes individuals who appear to have created lasting change and moved
from outdated, insecure childhood models of relating, to more ‘democratic’, resilient and
flexible ways of navigating the world. This paper reviews the concept of earned-secure
attachment and what sets these individuals apart from their insecurely attached counterparts.
It also examines the importance of a reparative relationship in providing a secure base
experience for self-exploration, to help counteract sub-optimal or pre-pathogenic primary
attachment relationships. The possibility of change towards earned-secure attachment offers
huge opportunities to the practice of psychotherapy in guiding the therapist and informing their
clinical practice. How attachment-informed psychotherapy facilitates such a change, is
examined across the domains of the therapeutic relationship, non-verbal communication and
the stance of self towards experience. Through provision of a corrective emotional experience,
a client is enabled to integrate their different dimensions of self and internalise a secure base
in order to move forward with a sense of self and interpersonal agency
Difference between digital marketing of Europe and Saudi Arabia
This study has revolved around evaluating differences in "digital marketing practices" between Saudi Arabia and Europe by explaining various "digital marketing tools" used by "digital promotional agencies from these countries. Differences between the "digital marketing scenarios" of Europe and Saudi Arabia such as varied challenges existing in these countries, factors influencing the "digital promotional practices" of these two countries, are highlighted in this study. The "digital advertising sector" of Europe involves a high growth rate due to the high levels of technical awareness of the natives of the majority of EU countries. Moreover, "digital marketing environment" of Saudi Arabia includes slow growth rates for being an underdeveloped country and possessing poor technical skills. The poor economic condition of Saudi Arabia also causes the government of this country to offer limited funding support to the "digital marketers" that cause them to be unable to incorporate innovations within their "digital marketing practices". However, initiatives for increasing "digital awareness" of the country natives have been arranged by the Saudi government through organizing "digital awareness campaigns". Strategies such as conducting deep market research, adherence with data protection rules, are supposed to help "digital marketing agencies" from Europe and Saudi Arabia to enhance the quality of their "digital marketing practices"
An exploratory study on a consumer centric approach to 3D printing for SMEs
This study primarily explores the consumer perception and readiness to embrace the
3D Printing technology. To measure consumer’s technology readiness and perception the
empirical studies on Technology Readiness and Technology Acceptance Model were applied
in succession. The study is cross sectional and inductive in its research design, and pursues a
grounded theory strategy. An online mixed-method survey was shared with the research
participants and gathered data from 204 general consumers segment. The data findings
reported that majority of the participants are aware of and show intentions to embrace 3D
Printing but have rather less 3D Printing perception and readiness. Secondarily, the study
discusses the implications of consumer behaviour to portray business insights to aid SMEs
pursue 3D Printing technology. Finally, this study concludes that there is tremendous
potential to deliver value to consumer segment in 3D Printing if the gap between consumer
readiness and perception can be mitigated
