Along with that the analysis showed, that under the current market scenario, feature rich videos in the online platforms like YouTube could help create the initial interest for autonomous vehicles. On a closing note, the researcher has told that automotive brands must embrace digital platforms and creative advertising

Everything’s fine: how design and public library communities interact in South Dublin

    No full text
The research seeks to understand how physical design strategies are implemented, what priorities are involved and if those strategies are aligned with the goals of engaging communities. Four qualitative semi-structured interviews with senior librarians were conducted as part of the research. International best practices suggest that flexible environments with multi-purpose spaces are best suited to meet the needs of their communities. The research finds that librarians in South Dublin agree that flexible, multifunctional spaces are required in modern library environments. The librarians feel removed from the overall design process, which is driven by architects. Informal knowledge-sharing practices are often used in public libraries, regarding layout and design. Unlike international examples, communities are not involved in the design process. Engagement and facilities in South Dublin libraries appear slanted towards academic and educational activities, especially for younger users. Community exhibitions may prove instrumental in centralising the library conceptually in the community

This study investigated occupational stress, compassion satisfaction, compassion fatigue and burnout among Irish nurses. A quantitative mixed correlational, cross sectional survey design used purposive snowball sampling of (N=224) nurses aged 18 – 68 years, including (N=7) males, (N=216) females and (N=1) identifying as other. The survey included seven demographic questions, two self-reporting questionnaires: The Nursing Stress Scale (Gray-Toft and Anderson, 1981) and the ProQQL (Stamm, 2009, 2012). Analysis showed a negative relationship between occupational stress and compassion satisfaction and a positive relationship between occupational stress and compassion fatigue and burnout. Determinants of stress included workload, inadequate preparation, conflict with other nurses and physicians and lack of support. General nurses, children’s nurses and full-time nurses reported higher stress, with no differences reported across nursing grades and sectors. An inverse relationship was found between age and occupational stress. These results may prompt change in the management of stress, promoting wellbeing among Irish nurses

Experimental exploration of acquired brain injury and stigma; implementing gamified intervention of to reduce stigma towards ABI

    No full text
Acquired Brain Injury - otherwise known as ABI - affects approximately 13,000 people a year in Ireland. There is minimal literature available surrounding ABI and stigma; this research study attempts to provide empirical data within this realm. This study explores the effect of a between subject’s experimental design focused on mediating stigma around ABI. An experimental intervention implemented Kahoot! Software to develop an interactive quiz, it is hypothesised that gamification would result in more positive attitudes towards persons with an acquired brain injury. A revised version of the community attitudes towards mental illness (R- CAMI) scale was implemented to measure; benevolence, authoritarianism, community mental health ideology and social restrictiveness subscales. Participants (N=68) were randomly allocated to an experimental condition or a knowledge condition. The findings showed non-significance between knowledge and experimental groups on all four subscales (p= < .005). A multiple regression demonstrated that authoritarianism (β .782) and benevolence (β .711) were significant predictors of overall CAMI-R scale scores. Correlations demonstrated that overall scores were not significantly correlated with the level of fun or quiz scores. The analysis indicated that gamification did not result in more positive attitudes; participants scored positively on all four subscales. The findings suggest that psychoeducation is beneficial in promoting positive attitudinal outcomes using both knowledge condition and gamification condition. It is recommended that further research measures baseline attitudes pre-intervention in order to ascertain further information around stigma and acquired brain injury

This thesis is focused upon discovering how change management can be used to help in employee retention, increasing employee effectiveness and reducing errors in the workplace. Prior researches have connected change management to the tools used by management to help bring change in an organization. Secondary data was studied in order to determine the relationships proposed by previous studies upon change management practices. Therefore, this study uses a 17-item digital survey distributed amongst 60 participants to determine how change management can help improve the workplace conditions for employees. This study was able to conclude that the more change management practices are used the more workplace obstacles can be removed, which helps in increasing employee effectiveness to in turn improve the employee retention rate. Future studies, can use an experimental design in order to determine how change management can be effectively employed inside an organization in order to reign similar results

Boosting product sales is the primary objective of any Recommender System and it is achieved by providing users a personalized recommendation from the world of information density and product overload. The suggestions given by RS support users in their decision-making process such as which item to buy from thousands of items, which music to listen to from millions of soundtracks or which news feed to read rst. Recommender System can be implemented by using Collaborative or Content-based ltering techniques and each of them has its own merits and demer- its. Aiming at this concern, this research proposed an ensemble model combining Item-KNN, Biased Matrix factorization and user pro le content-based ltering. The result for comparative analysis on MovieLens data shows that the ensemble model outperforms each model when implemented individually and ensemble model without BMF giving an accuracy score of 0.818 stars as RMSE and 0.629 stars as MAE
