    Head and shoulders portrait of former General Conference vice president, Theodore Carcich. He served as VP from 1966 to 1974. Carcich was born in Unie, Yugoslavia, in 1905 and he graduated from Atlantic Union College in 1937. He served as president of the Southern New England, Illinois, and Washington conferences. Later he was elected president of the Central Union Conference before coming to the General Conference

    China Division Headquarters

    This building stood at Ningkuo Road in Shanghai, China. It was the headquarters for the China Division within the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Church structure began to take shape in China by 1930 when the China Division was formed. There were six union missions, twenty-nine local missions, 156 churches, 9,456 church members, 947 workers, 103 church schools, and 3,325 students. There were 17 educational institutions of secondary and college level, one publishing house, two smaller local presses, and eleven medical institutions

    This photograph was taken in Shanghai, China while Arthur Grosvenor Daniells was visiting. It is likely that it was taken during the Asiatic Division Conference that was held April 5-26, 1917. Daniells was the longest-serving president the Adventist church has ever had. During his 21 years of presidency, he led the church through the reorganization of 1901 and 1903, the Kellogg crisis in the early 1900s, the first World War, and the famous 1919 Bible conference. Daniells was also the first General Conference president who had to navigate the church forward without the guidance of Ellen White’s prophetic voice after she passed away in 1915

    La Chaux-de-Fonds is a Swiss city in the canton of Neuchâtel. It is located in the Jura mountains at an altitude of 1000 m, a few kilometers south of the French border. After Geneva, Lausanne and Fribourg, it is the fourth largest city located in the Romandie, the French-speaking part of the country, with a population (as of December 2020) of 36,915. It is believe that Polish Seventh-day Adventist and missionary, Michael Belina Czechowski (1818-1876) gave Bible studies on this street. Czechowski was a former Catholic priest who later converted to Adventism. He is consisted to be the individual who brought the Adventist message to Europe in 1864. He mostly worked in Northern Italy and Switzerland and he established the journal "L'Evangile Eternel" (The Everlasting Gospel). As a result of his work, several groups of Adventist believers were established in Switzerland, the largest of them located in Tramelan, which is now considered the first church to be established in Europe. Czechowski is also credited with laying the foundation for the future growth of the Church in Romania

    Head and shoulders portrait of Leslie C. Brand. Brand was a real estate developer. He is known for developing the City of Glendale, California. Brand is often called the "Father of Glendale" due to the role he played in the development of the city in the early 1900s. In 1905, Brand sold a 75-room, Victorian-style hotel constructed in the 1880s to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This property would later become the Glendale Sanitarium. The sanitarium grew into the present day Adventist Health Glendale hospital

    Photographic reproduction of Lugwig Richard Conradi taken in the later years of his life. Conradi was one of the leaders of European Adventism and known for a controversy causing a schism in the church. He was also an evangelist and missionary, and later was a Seventh-day Baptist minister. He was born in Karlsruhe, Germany and migrated to America in his youth. In 1878 he was converted to Seventh-day Adventism. One year later, in 1879, he met Ellen G. White and attended Battle Creek College. He was ordained to the ministry in 1882. In 1886, the General Conference sent him to work in Europe. He traveled widely throughout Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Turkey, Romania and Hungary. In 1889, he established the headquarters of the German Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hamburg. In 1901, he became the first chairman of the General European Conference, then later a president of the European Division and the vice-president of the General Conference. He remained head of the work in Europe until 1922. In 1932, he left the Adventist Church and became a member and minister of the Seventh Day Baptist Church
