Verso la Robotica in Sanità? Il caso toscano tra fattori facilitanti e inibenti
This article sheds light on the complex process of diffusion of robotics in healthcare. The study focuses on Tuscany, an extreme case where institutional, financial and technological preconditions seem consistent with the large diffusion of robotics in the field. Irrespective of these preconditions, the article provides a detailed analysis of the complex articulation of factors that prevent the large diffusion of new robotic technologies in health. Through the analytical framework inspired by the multi-level perspective (MLP), we look at the articulation of socio-economic and institutional landscapes, health regimes and technological niches. While the stock of investments, organisational resources and technologies seem to support robotics in health; the relationship between landscapes, regimes and niches does not allow for such a diffusion. Robotic technologies are not embedded in health institutions because of investments that are market-oriented, regulatory bottlenecks and organisational fragmentation
Managing real-time constraints through monitoring and analysis-driven edge orchestration
Emerging real-time applications are increasingly moving to distributed heterogeneous platforms, under the promise of more powerful and flexible resource capabilities. This shift inevitably brings new challenges. The design space to deploy chains of threads is more complex, and sound estimates of worst-case execution times are harder to obtain. Additionally, the environment is more dynamic, requiring additional runtime flexibility on the part of the application itself. In this paper, we present an optimization-based approach to this problem. First, we present a model and real-time analysis for modern distributed edge applications. Second, we propose a design-time optimization problem to show how to set the main parameters characterizing such applications from a time-predictability perspective. Then, we present an orchestration and runtime decision-making mechanism that monitors execution times and allows for runtime reconfigurations, spanning from graceful degradation policies to re-distributions of workload. A prototypical implementation of the proposed approach based on the QNX RTOS and its evaluation on a realistic case study based on an edge-based valet parking application conclude the paper

Packaging e sostenibilità del vino tra norme giuridiche e disciplinari privati
Lo scritto esamina il rapporto tra packaging del vino e sostenibilità alla luce dell’evoluzione delle norme giuridiche europee e nazionali (SQNPI) e dei disciplinari volontari di certificazione privata (VIVA, Equalitas). L’obiettivo è analizzare come le scelte in materia di confezionamento incidano sulla sostenibilità ambientale, sulla tutela della qualità del prodotto e sulla comunicazione verso il consumatore. I più recenti aggiornamenti dei disciplinari SQNPI, VIVA ed Equalitas hanno progressivamente introdotto obblighi misurabili e verificabili relativi alla riduzione dell’impronta carbonica, all’utilizzo di materiali riciclati e alla progettazione circolare del packaging. Le conclusioni evidenziano l’opportunità di un approccio regolatorio più flessibile, anche da parte dei Consorzi di tutela, basato su evidenze scientifiche, in grado di bilanciare esigenze di tutela della tradizione e innovazione sostenibile
