Incentives for Sustainable Governance in Blockchain-Based Organizations
This study analyzes how blockchain technology can be interpreted through an economic perspective, viewing network nodes as rational agents whose strategic behavior affects the efficiency and sustainability of decentralized systems. Using a multi-player non-cooperative game with complete but imperfect information, we model validators’ decisions in voting-based consensus mechanisms and compare alternative incentive configurations through simulation results. The analysis shows how variations in reward schemes influence validators’ behavior and consensus reliability. Extending the framework to Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs), the study explores how blockchain-based incentives can enhance participation, accountability, and decentralized governance. The findings highlight that incentive design plays a decisive role in aligning individual motivations with collective goals, ensuring both network integrity and long-term sustainability. Overall, this study connects economic theory with blockchain governance, extending its relevance to business and organizational contexts beyond cryptocurrencies
Vibration-Based Diagnostics of Rolling Element Bearings Using the Independent Component Analysis (ICA) Method
This manuscript presents a study on the application of blind source separation (BSS) techniques, specifically the Independent Component Analysis (ICA) method, for the detection and identification of localized faults in rolling element bearings. Bearing defects typically manifest as distinct harmonics of characteristic fault frequencies, accompanied by modulation sidebands in the vibration signal spectrum. The accurate extraction and isolation of these components are crucial for reliable fault diagnosis, particularly in systems where multiple vibration sources overlap. In this work, a linear ICA algorithm was applied to vibration signals acquired from a simplified rotating machinery setup designed to emulate common bearing fault conditions. The study investigates the effect of ICA-based signal decomposition on the statistical distribution of selected diagnostic indicators and evaluates its ability to enhance the detectability of fault-related components. The experimental results demonstrate that the application of ICA significantly improves the separation of vibration sources, leading to a more distinct representation of fault signatures. The findings confirm the effectiveness of blind source separation methods in vibration-based diagnostics and highlight the potential of ICA as a complementary tool for improving the accuracy and robustness of bearing fault detection systems in rotating machinery
A Multi-Layer Quantum-Resilient IoT Security Architecture Integrating Uncertainty Reasoning, Relativistic Blockchain, and Decentralised Storage
The rapid development of the Internet of Things (IoT) has enabled the implementation of interconnected intelligent systems in extremely dynamic contexts with limited resources. However, traditional paradigms, such as those using ECC-based heuristics and centralised decision-making frameworks, cannot be modernised to ensure resilience, scalability and security while taking quantum threats into account. In this case, we propose a modular architecture that integrates quantum-inspired cryptography (QI), epistemic uncertainty reasoning, the multiscale blockchain MuReQua, and the quantum-inspired decentralised storage engine (DeSSE) with fragmented entropy storage. Each component addresses specific cybersecurity weaknesses of IoT devices: quantum-resistant communication on epistemic agents that facilitate cognitive decision-making under uncertainty, lightweight adaptive consensus provided by MuReQua, and fragmented entropy storage provided by DeSSE. Tested through simulations and use case analyses in industrial, healthcare and automotive networks, the architecture shows exceptional latency, decision accuracy and fault tolerance compared to conventional solutions. Furthermore, its modular nature allows for incremental integration and domain-specific customisation. By adding reasoning, trust and quantum security, it is possible to design intelligent decentralised architectures for resilient IoT ecosystems, thereby strengthening system defences alongside architectures. In turn, this work offers a specific architectural response and a broader perspective on secure decentralised computing, even for the imminent advent of quantum computers

Role of the AIM2 Inflammasome in Cancer: Potential Therapeutic Strategies
Absent in melanoma 2 (AIM2) is a member of the innate immune sensors that recognizes cytosolic nucleic acids, leading to inflammasome assembly. In recent years, several studies in the oncology field have highlighted the presence of cytoplasmic double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) following necrosis and/or genomic instability, which is typical of malignant transformation. The recognition of dsDNA by the AIM2 inflammasome either in cancer cells or in immune cells can further exacerbate inflammatory processes on the basis of cancer progression. In this context, the role of AIM2 in cancer is still controversial in that some authors assume that AIM2 activation has pro-tumor activities, while others define it as anti-tumor. This discrepancy may be due to the nature of the cells where AIM2 is expressed or the histology of the tumor. This review aims to provide an overview of the controversial role of AIM2 in cancer, taking into consideration the pharmacological tools currently available to modulate AIM2 activity in cancer
