    Cement dispersants are chemical admixtures designed to enhance the performance of cementitious materials by improving particle dispersion and reducing water demand. These additives play a crucial role in modern concrete technology, particularly in the formulation of high-performance and self-compacting concretes. By adsorbing onto cement particles and inducing electrostatic or steric repulsion, dispersants prevent agglomeration and promote a more uniform distribution within the mix. This results in improved workability, reduced viscosity, and enhanced mechanical properties such as compressive strength and durability. Common types of cement dispersants include polycarboxylate ethers, naphthalene sulfonates, melamine formaldehyde condensates, and anionic surfactants like calcium dodecylbenzene sulfonate.
