    No full text
Network organisation was ubiquitous in the early modern period. However, throughout much of the Middle Ages, it was not the predominant method of coordinating business activities. Poloni argues that such organisational forms only became widespread among European merchants in the second half of the 14th century. Clarifying the chronology of this diffusion can enhance our understanding of the broader economic transformations that occurred in the late Middle Ages

Considerazioni introduttive

    No full text

Natural dielectrics for organic field effect transistors: a study on resins derived from larch, spruce and Atlas cedar Pinaceae trees

    No full text
: Three Pinaceae resins originating from trees of high industrial significance-European larch, European spruce, and Atlas cedar-were examined in this work. These resins exhibited ease of processing using ethyl alcohol solutions, exceptional film formation, and great dielectric qualities with measured breakdown fields in the range of 5-7.3 MV cm-1. Because their film surface was essentially trap-free, it was possible to fabricate organic field effect transistors that are hysteresis-free and have outstanding stability under 12-hour bias stress at working voltages below 10 V, with current retention approaching 90% of the original value and transfer curve recovery occurring within 90 minutes. These environmentally friendly materials, which are freely available, are a great option for applications aiming to produce sustainable electronics

Comprehensive insights into peripheral artery disease: an overview from the working groups of pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and thrombosis of the Italian Society of Cardiology

    No full text
: Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a global health burden due to its high prevalence, morbidity, and mortality. It affects more than 200 million people worldwide. PAD is a manifestation of systemic atherosclerosis that is often associated with coronary and cerebrovascular disease, underscoring its crucial role as an indicator of advanced vascular pathology. Despite its strong association with cardiovascular morbidity, PAD remains underdiagnosed and undertreated compared with coronary artery disease (CAD), highlighting a significant gap in care. Patients with PAD are at increased risk of myocardial infarction (MI), stroke, and limb amputation, so a multidisciplinary approach is required to reduce adverse outcomes. Identifying at-risk patients through early screening and implementing evidence-based therapeutic strategies is crucial in treating PAD. Modern lipid-lowering agents, dual antithrombotic therapies, and aggressive risk factor control are essential treatment components. Recent advances, including PCSK9 inhibitors and novel antiplatelet agents, have shown promise for improving cardiovascular and limb-related outcomes, although further validation is needed. Given the systemic nature of atherosclerosis, managing PAD should be a cornerstone of cardiovascular care, requiring individualised treatment plans. Increasing awareness and understanding of PAD is critical to bridging gaps in diagnosis and treatment to improve the overall prognosis and quality of life of patients with this debilitating disease. This work aims to enhance practical approaches to PAD by providing comprehensive insights into its management and offering a foundation for exploring innovative future treatment options

Green innovation and financial structures in firms. New insights from a survey of Italian SMEs

    No full text
This chapter examines the impact of specific financial structure variables on green process and product innovation in Italian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It investigates whether debt and multi-banking relationships, which are widespread in Italy, facilitate or impede eco-innovation. The findings indicate that excessive leverage and/or overly complex banking networks impede innovation. This underlines the need to alleviate the financial constraints faced by Italian SMEs, particularly in the context of firm–bank relationships. In this respect, sustainable finance opens up two crucial issues. On the one hand, the potential of the emerging green equity market and on the other hand, the benefits of green banking practices that support the adoption of long-term sustainable strategies

Madrid, 1931: riflessioni sulla prima Costituente post-autoritaria

    No full text

    No full text

Circularly Polarized Stimulated Emission from a Chiral Cavity Based on Apparent Circular Dichroism Organic Thin Films

    No full text
The lack of intrinsic mirror symmetry in cavity mirrors poses a significant challenge for most organic chiral materials in generating circularly polarized (CP) lasers. However, nonreciprocal chiroptical materials, such as recently developed organic thin films exhibiting apparent circular dichroism (ACD), provide a promising approach to CP light generation. In this work, we integrate an ACD-based thin film into a free-space dye laser cavity, achieving direct CP laser emission with a degree of circular polarization (DOCP) up to 0.6, corresponding to a dissymmetry factor (glum) of 1.2, a new record for organic chiral lasers. The degree of polarization (DOP) is close to 0.8, and the observed ellipticity in the emitted light originates from the ACD effect in the thin film, leading to asymmetric cavity losses for right- and left-circularly polarized light. This breakthrough demonstrates the potential of ACD-based materials to overcome the limitations of conventional chiral laser systems, marking a significant advancement in the field and paving the way for next-generation chiral photonic devices
