    PROMOTION OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS AND ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES THROUGH EUROPEAN QUALITY SCHEMES IN EU COUNTRIES FOR THE YEAR 2022

    European quality schemes used at Community level have the role of ensuring the legal protection of agri-food products and alcoholic beverages, thus having an important promotional role. Thus, consumers perceive the products whose names are protected by means of quality schemes as having a higher value, which results in increased sales, but also in other benefits of a quantitative and qualitative nature for the producers and the area of origin. This article presents, in the first part, some aspects with regard to the impact, from a marketing perspective, of the use of quality schemes, using in particular information from literature, and subsequently renders the situation in the EU countries, at the level of 2022, regarding the number of products protected under the various quality schemes, by country and by category of protected product, using official information. Several quality schemes are used in the European Union: Geographical indications (Protected designation of origin, Protected geographical indication, Geographical indication), Traditional speciality guaranteed, Mountain product, Product of EU\u27s outermost regions, but this paper refers only to products whose name was protected via Geographical indications and Traditionals speciality guaranteed

    The current crisis demonstrates the critical role that energy plays in our lives. The vulnerability of some of us in relation to an essential daily service illustrates that public policies need to be strengthened to deliver a resilient and fair market in which the consumer takes centre stage. The pandemic has given rise to additional imbalances that risk further undermining social cohesion and the mechanisms of democracy. In this context, it is necessary to develop a solidarity pact to protect the most vulnerable in the context of current and future crises and to address growing social inequalities with a focus on the health and well-being of vulnerable populations. The aim of this paper is to build through data analysis some arguments on the impact of legislative measures applied in Romania on the phenomenon of poverty that must be taken into account in any approach to the concept of energy poverty, according to the literature, the recommendations of European institutions and the experiences of other countries

    Accounting is influenced by a variety of historical, economic, cultural, and other non-accounting factors that led to different judgments in creating a system for representing the reality, the application of regulated requirements and the validation of the fidelity of the information in the annual financial statements, as a final product of accounting. In this article, we focus on the main determinants of the relativity of the values that characterize the events in the life of an organization, which can determine the different reporting of similar realities. Thus, we focus on the influence of taxation on accounting, on accounting policies and management decisions and the professional judgment in forming an opinion on the financial statements and we try to identify solutions to limit the relativity of the accounting values

    The impact of higher education is reflected in both individual and collective benefits, economic and non-economic. For example, if pursuing higher education means an increased chance of employment at the individual level and of being better paid, at the macroeconomic level, a higher share of the population with higher education is associated with lower unemployment rates, with an increase in productivity and, consequently, with an acceleration of economic growth. The economic advantages of higher education are complemented by non-economic advantages such as: increased manifestation of civic spirit, increased care and better health, a decrease in crime etc. among the population with higher education. This article aims to highlight some of the economic and non-economic benefits, individual or collective, of higher education, starting on the one hand from information in the literature and on the other hand from official statistical information, using EU statistical information

    THE POSSIBLE IMPACT OF THE ONLINE LEARNING ON THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION IN SERBIA DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

    The Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic of 2020 brought huge changes, leaving unforeseeable consequences for the global economy, the business community and people\u27s lives. It has led many companies to resort to working from home. The pandemic also forced many educational institutions around the world and from the Republic of Serbia to adapt to the new reality by actively implementing electronic teaching. The aim of this paper is to determine whether this new teaching method could have affected the quality of teaching outcomes and educational processes in the country. In the article, Wilcoxon signed rank test was conducted on the grades of a selected sample of 100 students from a higher public school of economics from Serbia in order to determine the size and statistical significance of the difference between median samples, before and after the transition to electronic learning. The results of the analysis showed that the transition to electronic teaching most likely improved the quality of educational processes and results in Serbia, indicating a statistically significant difference between the sample medians. Despite the described limitations of the study, it is possible that this type of teaching has improved the quality, inclusiveness and resilience of educational processes in the country

    Key Drivers of Brand Loyalty among Homogenous Firms: The Case of the Nigerian Telecommunication Industry

    No firm operates in a vacuum without interacting within the immediate environment as well as reacting and counteracting with internal and external forces. Each firm operating in an industry strive to expand its operations gaining more market shares, while warding off rival firms from gaining competitive grounds comparatively. The Nigerian telecommunication industry possesses the characteristics of an oligopolistic industry which is predominantly a competitive industry with rival firms vying to retain customers’ loyalty and expand market share. The study thus investigates the impact of key drivers on brand loyalty among the firms. The PLS-SEM analysis employed in the study showed that while communication, cooperation and trust positively impact brand loyalty, product quality, value-for-money and service quality had no significant impact on brand loyalty. The study thus recommends that individual firms take conscientious efforts to develop and implement policies to stimulate brand loyalty as well as expand market share. The policy implications of this study can be applied to other competitive industries in Nigeria

    THE EFFECT OF ADVERTISING AND PRODUCT QUALITY ON THE PURCHASE DECISION OF HALAL COSMETICS WITH ONLINE CONSUMER REVIEWS AS MEDIATION VARIABLES

    Indonesia is ranked second the largest halal cosmetic consumer country in the world with a total consumption of US$ 4 billion. In fact, Indonesia hasn’t been first rank of the 10 indicator countries for halal pharmaceutical and cosmetic producers. Halal cosmetic manufacturers in Indonesia still ranked sixth, this condition is inversely to the total consumption of the Indonesian residential to halal cosmetics. This study aims to determine the effect of advertising and product quality on halal cosmetic purchasing decisions with online consumer reviews as a mediating variable. Research method is descriptive quantitative. Research test is the inner model, outer model, hypothesis testing and mediation testing with WarpPLS 7.0. Population is men and women who have bought and used halal cosmetics and domiciled in Jabodetabek.Samples are 210 people using purposive sampling. The results of a study found advertising, product quality, and online consumer review significant and positive on the purchasing decisions, and online consumer review was able to mediate advertising and product quality on purchasing decisions.     Modeling the Impact of Corruption, Degree of Freedom to Invest and Democracy on Domestic Investment: Evidence from MENA Countries

    This study examines the impact of corruption, investment freedom, and democracy on domestic investment in countries in the Middle East and North Africa. In order to achieve this, the GMM model was used to test the annual data from 2011 to 2017. The empirical results show that corruption has a negative impact on domestic investment, but the degree of investment freedom and democracy have a positive impact on domestic investment. One of the major contributions of this work is to assert the requirement to wheel more awareness to the direct link between corruption, governance, investment freedom, and domestic investment

    ASPECTS THAT INTERVENE IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NEW PUBLIC MANAGEMENT

    Appeared in the last decades of the last century, against the background of economic and global developments, determined by the internationalization of production and free movement of capital, the New Public Management aimed to the transition from the bureaucratic principles of hierarchical setup, to the development of new practices of management . This change had to meet the requirements of the market economy, signifying another form of approach to administration and public management. The purpose of the changes was to reform the public sector organizations, increase their competitiveness and efficiency in the use of resources and the provision of services. The present study propose a short presentation of some opinions of theorists, regarding some limits and dysfunctions, which may occur in the application of the New Public Management, different from some successes of the changes accomplished. Other issues were also addressed, such as the occurrence of reversible trends in the reform process. Given the new challenges of society and the increased demands of citizens, the phenomenon requires efforts to find the best practices of the New Public Management, which to lead to the achievement of the proposed objectives.     The existence of groups of companies is a relatively new issue for professional accountants, the academic environment, as well as for regulatory bodies in the field of accounting in Romania. In this context, the theoretical and practical aspects of the preparation of the consolidated annual financial statements generate extensive debates among accounting specialists, in order to find practical solutions to support the understanding and correct application of accounting regulations in the field of the consolidation of accounts. In two articles, we will present the accounting treatment of the disposal of securities held, within subsidiaries, associates, as well as in jointly controlled companies, by companies that prepare consolidated annual financial statements. The issue of disposal of securities held with entities whose individual financial statements are subject to consolidation will be presented in the form of case studies, structured as follows: Elimination of securities held with affiliated entities (object of this article); Elimination of securities held in associates and jointly controlled entities (joint ventures) - object of the next article
