    Get PDF
The present paper starts from the analysis of the first definitive data on the resident and active population, published for the population census of December 1, 2021, both at the level of the North-East Region compared to the national level, and at the component counties. The evolution of the population and the labor force was analyzed with its main component, the employed population, both dynamically compared to the previous census, and in more detail according to different criteria for the situation existing on December 1, 2021. If the NE Region lost 2.29% of its resident population between the last two censuses, the active population decreased in a higher proportion (-19.08%), compared to the dynamics of the inactive population (+12.44%). This led to a decrease of the employed population by 21.95% (-316.4 thousand people). Agriculture remains the main activity of the region\u27s population, representing 35.24% of this activity at the national level and 28% of the total employed population at the regional level. Although it is the largest region numerically, due to the lower degree of economic development of the area, a higher level of poverty, a lower offer of well-paid jobs, a significant part of the labor force tends to migrate to other places in the country or in other states, with consequences for the entire balance

    Get PDF
This study analyzes the Romanian local administration budget for environmental protection from 2014 to 2023. Positioned as the second-most significant budget within Romania\u27s consolidated financial structure, the local administration budget has faced increasing demands to meet environmental objectives. With international pressures, particularly from the European Union, environmental budgeting is essential to align with sustainability goals and counter environmental degradation. This paper explores the evolution of budget allocations at the national, regional, and local levels, focusing on disparities among development regions, including a detailed case study of the Centre Region. Using descriptive statistics and comparative analysis, the study assesses environmental spending by administrative units, distinguishing between communes, cities, and municipalities. Furthermore, the research employs ANOVA and Tukey tests to identify significant differences in budget allocations across regions and within the Centre Region, emphasizing variances between urban and rural funding levels. Findings reveal fluctuations in funding consistency, regional disparities, and trends in per capita allocations that underscore the differences in budgetary emphasis on environmental protection. This analysis highlights the critical role of localized environmental protection spending in supporting Romania’s environmental and public health outcomes and contributes to broader discussions on sustainable public finance strategies.

    Get PDF
Financial communication plays a key role in shaping stakeholders\u27 decision-making processes, acquiring even greater importance in today\u27s turbulent global landscape marked by various overlapping crises. Thus, the aim of the research revolves around a theoretical exploration, supported by a bibliometric analysis, to emphasize the intrinsic importance of financial communication. The research methodology is based on a bibliometric analysis of 3,000 scientific papers indexed in the Web of Science database, from 1975 to 2023, focusing on financial communication. To facilitate this analysis, specialized software tools for data processing and bibliometric exploration, namely VOSviewer and Bibliometrix, were used. The research findings underline the complexity and interdependence of the financial communication process in organizations, highlighting its evolution from transparency and reduction of information asymmetry in periods of stability, to the need for rapid adoption of digital technologies and integration of ESG dimensions during recent crises, all of which are essential to meet stakeholders\u27 demands and maintain investors\u27 trust

The Voice of Employers – their Suggestions for Optimizing the Relationship between the University and the Labor Market

    Get PDF
The university and the labour market can no longer be considered as separate entities because they are deeply interconnected, and their relationship is characterised by mutual influence. In order to ensure this relationship is functional and beneficial for all parties involved, it is highly important not only to listen to employers’ voice (which is the initial step) but also to incorporate their feedback into institutional development strategies. Effective communication and collaboration between universities and the labour market must be continuously fostered to guarantee that graduates acquire the skills employers expect and that employers are satisfied with the training provided. This study aims to identify a set of effective solutions proposed by employers to enhance the quality of graduates’ skills. In order to answer four research questions, data were collected and processed from a broader survey, conducted via a questionnaire with 153 employers from “Vasile Alecsandri” University of Bacău (UBc) between July and September 2024. The gathered data were then compared and correlated with findings from a similar study conducted in the previous year, during the same months. The results obtained will help the substantiation of decision-making and action lines at the faculty and institutional levels aimed at improving graduates’ skills in response to the dynamic and challenging demands of the labour market

The impact of globalisation on inflation is investigated for South Africa using annual time series data from 1990 to 2022. The study was motivated by the need to establish if the notion that globalisation leads to a decrease in prices in the domestic economy still holds water for South Africa. The study employs ARDL to explore the nature of the relationship between globalisation and inflation. Using trade openness as a measure of globalisation and the rate of change of the consumer price index as a measure of inflation, the study found globalisation to worsen inflation pressures in South Africa irrespective of the timeframe considered.
