Responsible Work, Resilient Workforce: A Corporate Social Responsibility Knowledge-Based Perspective
The purpose of this research is to demonstrate the role of employee coping in determining the effect of workaholism on burnout. This study utilized a survey approach to collect information from a varied cohort of teachers encompassing individuals employed in private sector educational institutions, following a time-lagged approach. The gathered data was thoroughly examined using the structural equation modeling (SEM) method. The research results highlight the potential impact of employee coping strategies in mediating the relationship between workaholism and burnout. Moreover, the findings suggest that humble leadership attenuates the relationship between workaholism and avoidance coping, ultimately resulting in a decrease in burnout. These insights reinforce the significance of ethical leadership in creating psychologically healthy work environments, an essential knowledge dimension of corporate social responsibility (CSR)
Gradient regularity for a class of elliptic obstacle problems
We prove some regularity results for a priori bounded local minimizers of non-autonomous integral functionals of the form (Formula presented.) under the constraint v≥ψ a.e. in Ω, where ψ is a fixed obstacle function. Assuming that the coefficients of the partial map x↦DξF(x,ξ) satisfy a suitable Sobolev regularity, we are able to obtain higher differentiability and Lipschitz continuity results for the local minimizers
Polyphenols and Bone Health: A Comprehensive Review of Their Role in Osteoporosis Prevention and Treatment
Osteoporosis is a progressive bone disorder characterized by decreased bone mineral
density and structural deterioration, leading to increased fracture risk. Conventional treatments, although effective, are limited by adverse effects and low long-term adherence. In recent years, polyphenols, plant-derived bioactive compounds, have emerged as promising candidates for bone health promotion due to their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and osteo-regulatory properties. This review synthesizes the current preclinical and clinical evidence on the potential of polyphenols, including quercetin, resveratrol, curcumin, isoflavones, and epigallocatechin gallate, to modulate bone metabolism and prevent or mitigate osteoporosis. Mechanistically, polyphenols enhance osteoblastogenesis, inhibit osteoclast differentiation, regulate the RANKL/OPG axis, and activate key osteogenic pathways such as Wnt/β-catenin and MAPKs. Additionally, their estrogen-like activity and ability to modulate gut microbiota offer further therapeutic potential. Preclinical models consistently demonstrate improvements in bone mass, architecture, and turnover markers, while clinical trials, although limited, support their role in preserving bone density, particularly in postmenopausal women. Despite promising outcomes, variability in bioavailability, dosage, and study design limits current translational application. Further large-scale clinical studies and standardized formulations are needed. Polyphenols represent a compelling adjunct or alternative approach in the integrated management of osteoporosis
Investigating antecedents of intention to use green agri-food delivery apps: merging TPB with trust and electronic word of mouth
The rapid expansion of digital platforms has significantly influenced consumer
purchasing behaviors, particularly in the agri-food sector. Therefore, this paper investigates
the key factors driving customers’ intention to use green agri-food delivery apps
(GAFDAs) by integrating trust and electronic word of mouth (eWOM) into the Theory
of Planned Behavior (TPB) framework. Additionally, this study examines gender as a
moderating variable, assessing whether its influence alters the relationships between key
determinants and behavioral intention. Data were collected from 252 Algerian consumers,
and the proposed model was tested using SmartPLS 4 and SPSS 26.0. The results confirm
that attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control (PBC), trust, and eWOM
positively and significantly influence the intention to use GAFDAs, with PBC emerging
as the strongest predictor. Moreover, gender moderates the effect of trust on behavioral
intention, with trust significantly influencing men’s adoption decisions but not those of females.
In contrast, subjective norms and PBC are stronger predictors for female consumers.
These findings highlight the importance of gender-specific marketing strategies to enhance
GAFDA adoption. This study contributes to the literature by extending TPB with trust,
eWOM, and gender moderation, offering valuable insights for marketers, policymakers,
and app developers promoting sustainable food consumption
urbano sostenibile. The essay analyzes the characteristics and potential of the advanced Urban Digital Twin model
illustrates the opportunities and risks of using digital-algorithmic power within the administrative function of
territorial government in the context of urban regeneration processes. The research highlights the critical aspects
and causes that discourage the implementation of the model suggesting the adoption of a holistic and
multidisciplinary approach for smarter, more participatory, and humane urban governance, capable of ensuring a
comprehensive risk assessment and the creation of a unified set of regulations for the protection of personal data,
fostering the creation of an integrated, innovative, and participatory smart city model that focuses on efficiency,
safety, and sustainable urban development
Circulating short chain fatty acids in Alzheimer's disease: A cross-sectional observational study
Short chain fatty acids (SCFAs), produced mainly by gut microbes, might play a role in the pathophysiology of Alzheimer's disease (AD). We examined the SCFAs profile in 28 individuals with cognitive impairment due to AD (CI-AD), 29 with cognitive impairment not due to AD (CI-NAD), and 10 cognitively unimpaired (CU). CI-AD showed higher levels of acetate and valerate and lower levels of butyrate than CU and CI-NAD (p < 0.018). Acetate separated CI-AD from CI-NAD with AUC = 0.95 while the best neurodegeneration-related biomarker was GFAP with AUC = 0.79. SCFAs use for diagnosis and as treatment target in AD deserve further studies
L'educazione patetica.
