3D reconstruction method of the proximal femur and shape correction

    No full text
The aim of this work is to present a 3D reconstruction method of the proximal femur shape using contours identification from pairs of 2D X-ray radiographs without any prior acknowledge. 3D personalized model was reconstructed following a processing chain of seven different steps. After localization of the 2D contours on the images and the matching points of these contours, a 3D contour is generated using an algorithm based on a mathematical model. Thus, with a reduced number of pairs of images, we reconstruct a 3D points cloud, which enables obtaining a closed 3D surface. The accuracy of our approach was evaluated by comparing the reconstruction result with the 3D CT-scan reconstruction of cadaveric proximal femur. The estimated error shows that it is possible to rebuild the proximal femur shape from a limited number of radiograph

Study of the green composite Jute/Epoxy

Work presented is interested in the characterization of the quasistatic mechanical properties and in fatigue of a composite laminated in jute/epoxy. The natural fibers offer promising prospects thanks to their interesting specific properties, because of their low density, but also with their bio-deterioration. Several scientific studies highlighted the good mechanical resistance of the vegetable fiber composites reinforced, even after several recycling. Because of the environmental standards that become increasingly severe, one attends the emergence of eco-materials at the base of natural fibers such as flax, bamboo, hemp, sisal, jute. The fatigue tests on elementary vegetable fibers show an increase of about 60% of the rigidity of elementary fibers of hemp subjected to cyclic loadings. In this study, the test-tubes manufactured by the method infusion have sequences of stacking of 0/90° and ± 45° for the shearing and tensile tests. The quasistatic tests reveal a variability of the mechanical properties of about 8%. The tensile fatigue tests were carried out for levels of constraints equivalent to half of the ultimate values of the composite. Once the fatigue tests carried out for well-defined values of cycles, a series of static tests of traction type highlights the influence of the number of cycles on the quasi-static mechanical behavior of the laminate jute/epox

Algerian yeast strains : isolation, identification and production of single cell protein from whey with strain candida kefyr

In this study, few samples than soft and baked cheese, yogurt, cow's milk, pasteurized milk and cheese whey were collected from dairy industries in the city of Boumerdes. The samples were cultured on yeast extract glucose chloramphenicol agar (YGCA) media. Twenty yeast strains were isolated from the culture. Ten of theses strains were identified by their morphological and physiological properties. Betagalactosidase activity in the yeast strains showed that a strain Candida kefyr designated as LP1 had highest enzyme activity (up to 5000 EU/ml). To investigate the effectiveness of bat ch submerged fermentation of the yeast C . kefyr in cheese whey, we found that this strain have highest level of single cell protein (SCP), production (up to 19 g/l dry mass cell). The isolated yeast strain was examined for his ability in reduction of the c hemical oxygen demand (COD). So, the results demonstrated a high level of reductio

    No full text
