Efeitos da microfisioterapia associada à aplicação da bandagem elástica no tratamento da sialorreia em uma criança com microcefalia: estudo de caso
No full textIntroduction: Microcephaly is a conformation platform of several complex and multifactorial, involving genetic and environmental factors, identified through the measurement of the cephalic perimeter. In November 2015, the health ministry declared a national health emergency due to an outbreak of neonates with microcephaly, especially in the state of Pernambuco. Among the clinical manifestations resulting from microcephaly, there was a restriction of mobility and decreased tone / functionality of the lips, cheeks and tongue. It is possible to detect lack of lip seal, with the presence of sialorrhea. Objective: To verify the effect of microphysiotherapy associated to the application of the magnetic stripe in the reduction of sialorrhea. Material and Method: Based on a clinical case study of a one-year-old male gender and microcephaly diagnosis. As a data collection analysis procedure, an analytical study was carried out through a follow-up of the case, during the four months of physiotherapeutic intervention. Results: The case studied showed significant improvements in sialorrhea and also swallowing, breathing, gastroesophageal reflux, incidence of choking and advances in chewing. Final Considerations: It was verified that a microphysiotherapy associated with magnetic stripe and effective in the improvement of sialorrhea and other issues related to the oral system in children with microcephaly. Further studies addressing an association and its separate actions as treatment of sialorrhea in patients with microcephaly.Introdução: A microcefalia é considerada uma má formação congênita de etiologia complexa e multifatorial, envolvendo fatores genéticos e ambientais, identificada através da medição do perímetro cefálico. Em novembro de 2015 o ministério da saúde declarou estado de emergência sanitária nacional devido a um surto de neonatos com microcefalia, sobretudo no estado de Pernambuco. Entre as manifestações clínicas decorrentes na microcefalia observaram-se restrição da mobilidade e diminuição de tônus/funcionalidade de lábios, bochechas e língua. É possível detectar falta de vedamento labial, com presença de sialorreia. Objetivo: Verificar o efeito da microfisioterapia associada à aplicação da bandagem elástica na diminuição da sialorreia. Material e Método: Baseia-se em um estudo de caso clínico de uma criança de um ano de idade, gênero masculino e diagnóstico de microcefalia. Como procedimento de análise de coleta de dados, foi realizado um estudo analítico por meio de acompanhamento do caso, ao longo de quatro meses de intervenção fisioterapêutica. Resultados: O caso estudado apresentou melhoras significativas quanto à sialorreia e também deglutição, respiração, refluxo gastroesofágico, incidência de engasgo e avanços na mastigação. Considerações Finais: Verificou-se que a microfisioterapia associada à bandagem elástica é eficaz na melhora da sialorreia e outras questões relacionadas ao sistema oral em crianças com microcefalia. Sendo necessários mais estudos que abordem a associação dessas técnicas e suas ações separadamente como tratamento da sialorreia em pacientes com microcefalia
MULAN: POSSIBILIDADES PARA UMA PEDAGOGIA DO IMAGINÁRIO INFANTOJUVENIL

The article retakes a Márcio Souza’s essay, “A verdadeira nação de Rafael Bentes”, known Amazonian author, where under the focus of his rendezvous in the Sephardic Judaism, attempts to evoke conditions for a pathway, not only to describe it properly, but to provide a testimony of reestablishment under the Benjaminian orientation, that shed light to the dynamics of creation from sensible to its historical and memorial discourse.As animações cinematográficas, para além do entretenimento, fazem parte de um universo cultural de formação dos sujeitos, permeando o imaginário de representações humanas nas relações sociais. Compostas por músicas marcantes e personagens emblemáticos, as animações da Disney podem se tornar caminhos para uma pedagogia do imaginário, visto que essa tecnologia do imaginário põe em evidência temas sociais caros à formação de jovens e crianças. Nesse sentido, analisando as tecnologias do imaginário e os arquétipos femininos que moldam a personagem Mulan, no filme homônimo (MULAN, 1998), buscou-se averiguar temas inspiradores para a pedagogia do imaginário infantojuvenil. Nesse intuito, por meio de um estudo bibliográfico de análise arquetípica, à luz da modalidade imaginário educacional, percebe-se que o papel feminino é atuante em todo o filme. Isso porque as atitudes de Mulan surpreendem e contrariam um conjunto de crenças marcadas pela tradição de uma sociedade patriarcal
USE OF ENDOGUIDE IN A CALCIFED MANDIBULAR CANINE: CASE REPORT
No full textIn cases where the treatment of calcified canal must be done, calm and patience are required, as the endodontic access in these situations can, inadvertently, facilitate the occurrence of accidents that can cause great loss of dental structure or perforations. Endoguide can be successfully used in these cases, when a more accurate access without excessive deviations is needed. This technique is also recommended for less experienced clinicians. 30-years old male patient, presented with an extreme calcification of the pulp chamber and root canal on tooth 43. Tomographic exams and scanning of the mandibula were requested so that the guiding device could be planned. An appointment was scheduled to verify the guide's adaptation. After that, a new attempt was made with Endoguide to locate the root canal. Even with the use of Endoguide, it was not possible to locate the root canal. This unsuccessful attempt was due to some distortion occurred during the tomographic exams or mandibula scanning. A new Endoguide was made, through new scanning and tomography. Even with Endoguide, the endodontist expertise was essential for the clinical case success. Endoguide can fail due to procedural errors in tomography and scanning execution, providing images that are not able to be correctly reconstructed in the planning software
ROOT CANAL AND DENTINAL TUBULES DISINFECTION THROUGH THE USE OF ENTEROCOCCUS FAECALIS BACTERIOPHAGES
No full textEnterococcus faecalis is a facultative bacterium present in infected canals, that causes infections that are difficult to treat. It is a predominant pathogen in persistent periapical infections and have the ability to form biofilms as one of its main characteristics. In addition, E. faecalis has increased virulence factors, greater adherence capacity and antimicrobial resistance. Bacteriophages or phages are a set of viruses capable of destroying specific disease-causing bacteria, by invading bacterial cells, interrupting their metabolism, and causing cell lysis. Prior to the discovery and use of antibiotics, phage therapy was an alternative to infections. For these reasons, this pilot study aimed to determine the potential use of bacteriophages in combating endodontic infections associated with E. faecalis as an aid to root canal and dentinal tubule disinfection. As this is a pilot study, a small sample size was used for its development. Nine single-rooted human teeth, contaminated with E. faecalis, were kept in Brain Heart Infusion (BHI) medium for bacterial culture for 29 days with changes every 48hrs. Teeth divided into three groups: negative control, positive control and experimental group. After culture, the samples were vertically sectioned, followed by visualization of the biofilm by means of bioluminescence, and the bacteriophages action by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results proved the bacteriophages and bioluminescence effectiveness against E. faecalis, being possible to notice a significant reduction of bacteria inside the root canal and dentinal tubules. This study allowed to outline an alternative treatment against endodontic biofilm, in addition to the action of antimicrobials, seeking to better understand the functioning of the endodontic biofilm, phages and their applications in Endodontics
INTERNAL SUBSTITUTIVE PERFORATING RESORPTION: 10 YEARS OF PROSERVATION
No full textThis study aimed to report a 10-year follow-up case of an internal substitutive perforating root resorption. A 19-years old female patient presented a considerable widening of the root canal on the periapical radiographic examination of the tooth 11. Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was ordered and revealed a hypodense area with irregular margins involving the entire space of the pulp cavity communicating with the periodontium. Due to the lesion characteristics, the diagnosis was of an internal substitutive perforating root resorption. Intraoral examination revealed a small pink spot on the cervical third of the buccal face. Tooth positively responded to the cold sensitivity test. There was a negative response to apical palpation and percussion. Coronary access and partial pulp removal were performed with 1% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCI). Due to an intense bleeding, chemomechanical preparation was not completed. Calcium hydroxide paste was used as an intracanal medication. In the next appointment, chemomechanical preparation, removal of the metaplastic and granulation tissue from the reabsorbed area, and placement of the calcium hydroxide paste, that remained for 2 months, were performed. The canal was filled with mineral trioxide aggregate and the tooth restored with glass ionomer and composite resin. After obturation, a new CBCT was performed, showing the complete filling of the root canal and resorption defect. In the 10-year follow-up tomography, the root canal was filled with the filling material, including the communication area with the periodontium, demonstrating the success of the treatment due to the stagnation of the resorption process. The use of a restorative cement for root canal filling presenting internal substitutive perforating root resorption is an alternative for these cases. Clinical, radiographic, and tomographic follow-up are essential to assess the treatments’ success

ALFRED HITCHCOCK E O TRABALHO DE ADAPTAÇÃO LITERÁRIA: TEMPO E ESPAÇO NA CONSTRUÇÃO DO SUSPENSE EM OS PÁSSAROS
No full textThis article addresses the issue of intermediality through the relationship between literature and cinema, taking as its object of analysis the film The Birds (1963), by director Alfred Hitchcock, adapted from the homonymous short story by English writer Daphne du Maurier. It is an analysis of the director's creative process with regard to adaptation, the ways in which the construction of his work articulates questions of authorship and the consolidation of the suspense cinematographic genre. In the work of the director, who reinvents the literary narrative to produce suspense in the cinematographic language, the exercise of montage works to manipulate time and space, giving the film at the same time a gesture agreed by the authorial style and by the cinematographic genre in the specific context of the way of filming. classic Hollywood production.Este artigo aborda a questão da intermidialidade através da relação entre literatura e cinema, tomando como objeto de análise o filme Os Passáros (1963), do diretor Alfred Hitchcock, adaptado do conto homônimo da escritora inglesa Daphne du Maurier. Trata-se de uma análise do processo criativo do diretor no que diz respeito à adaptação, aos modos como a construção de sua obra articula questões de autoria e a consolidação do gênero cinematográfico suspense. No trabalho do diretor, que reinventa a narrativa literária para produzir suspense na linguagem cinematográfica, o exercício da montagem funciona para manipular tempo e espaço, conferindo ao filme ao mesmo tempo um gesto convencionado pelo estilo autoral e pelo gênero cinematográfico no contexto específico do modo de produção hollywoodiano clássico
