Psychosocial Problems of and Nursing Support for Families of Advanced Cancer Patients Undergoing Outpatient Chemotherapy
No full textpublisher青森国立情報学研究所の「学術雑誌公開支援事業」により電子化されました。This study clarifies the psychosocial problems experienced in families with advanced cancer patients who are undergoing outpatient chemotherapy and examines nursing support for such families. Nine subjects who had agreed to participate in this study were interviewed regarding those problems, and the interview responses were qualitatively analyzed. The analysis revealed five psychosocial problems: 1) anxiety about the family having to be the only party to give daily care, 2) the need for an environment in which the family could receive immediate consultation, 3) stress of having to maintain an environment that is optimal for care and treatment, 4) expectations and reservations about chemotherapy being the sole treatment, and 5) distortion in family relationships caused by disagreements regarding the proper treatment to a patient with limited life. The results suggest that provision of information on daily treatment, assurance that the patients are receiving effective treatment, and establishment of a professional support system for families are needed as nursing support for families of advanced cancer patients undergoing outpatient chemotherapy
Constitutionality of Article 3-1 of the Nationality Law : Study on the Determination of the Constitutionality in Two District Court Rulings and One High Court Ruling
No full textpublisher青森国立情報学研究所の「学術雑誌公開支援事業」により電子化されました。On November 22, 2002, the Supreme Court ruled that Article 2-1 of the Nationality Law, which denies the retroactivity of acknowledgement, is constitutional, on the grounds of the stability of nationality. However, the ruling was accompanied by supplemental opinions questioning the rationality and constitutionality of Article 3-1 of the Nationality Law, which requires the status of a legitimate child under marriage of parents and acknowledgement by the parents as a condition for allowing children to obtain Japanese nationality by filing. In the wake of this ruling, what stance courts take in cases where Article 3-1 of the Nationality Law comes into question has attracted great attention. The Tokyo District Court made interesting rulings on this article on April 13, 2005 and March 29, 2006 and the Tokyo High Court made an interesting ruling on February 28, 2006. This paper focuses on these three rulings and discusses especially how the constitutionality of the article is determined there

The actual situation and some problems of the active students training system in AUHW
No full textpublisher青森市国立情報学研究所の「学術雑誌公開支援事業」により電子化されました。In this university, the "active students training system" which makes personnel training for human care practicing possible is built, and its best is done in the educational practice. The "active students training system" means as the viewpoints. (1) Students can find out problems (study subjects). (2) They can recognize targets and the contents. (3) They can be getting to know the studying resources and techniques. (4) They can study and advance. (5) They can express the results of their study. (6) They can use their learning output in the lifelong learning stages after graduation. Then, the purpose of this paper is to report the outline of an "active students training system" and to report the results of an investigation for teachers in this university. The purpose of the investigation is to clarify the actual condition of the system through teachers consciousness and to consider as the basic data connected to a future improvement. The subjects of the investigation were 53 tenured teachers (above the lecturers except for the teachers who retired at the end of March), and the investigation period was from March 17, in 2003 to March 31 in 2003. From the results of an investigation, it has become clear that every teacher has been promoting the activities to train active students since the establishment. It is required to make efforts from now on aiming at the further development of this system and the continuous verification
Change in Intercultural Adaptation and Anxiety of Japanese University Students
No full textpublisher青森市国立情報学研究所の「学術雑誌公開支援事業」により電子化されました。The purpose of this paper is to clarify the anxiety students feel with regard to intercultural communication before and after intercultural contact during study abroad and to evaluate the timeframe of intercultural adaptation. The research presented here shows the anxiety felt over intercultural communication is quite different before and after intercultural contact has been experienced. The main anxiety among university students that the research revealed was with interpersonal communication with the host family, the main concern being that the students felt that comprehending is not as important as communicating in the target language and this leads to anxiety. As students tend to depend on their mother language even while staying abroad, their communication skills in the target language cannot develop by spending their time within their Japanese group. Nevertheless as far as language usage is concerned students feel that all of their language skills develop during their overseas experience. In addition to this, their anxiety with using the language is gradually reduced and 80% of students adjust to using English within 2 weeks. The main reason for this adjustment is not their level of English, but in the reduction of their anxiety. This study attempts to makes clear what problems need to be overcome for the adjustment into intercultural interaction and through this we can grasp the characteristics of the youth of today
