Metadata aggregation: introduction to technical aspects
This technical session describing what metadata aggregation is and how it can be implementedusing OAI-PMH protocol. In the following part of this technical session we will cover essentialsof Europeana metadata guidelines. After this short intro we will go through the procedure ofingesting your data to Europeana. The last part of the session will be dedicated to creation ofmetadata aggregator using free software

PoznańThermal radiation effects on unsteady flow past an oscillating semi-infinite isothermal vertical plate with uniform mass flux have been studied. The fluid considered here is a gray, absorbing-emitting radiation but non-scattering medium. The dimensionless governing equations are solved by an efficient, more accurate, and unconditionally stable and fast converging implicit scheme. The effect of velocity and temperature for different parameters like thermal radiation, Schmidt number, thermal Grashof number and mass Grashof number are studied. It is observed that the velocity decreases in the presence of thermal radiation
Preparing digital versions of cultural heritage objects
In this practical session we will try to scan and prepare for publication a short book. After scanning allpages we will try to post-process them and prepare for Optical character recognition. With theoutcomes of scanning and OCR we will prepare web delivery version which will be published indigital library based on DSpace and dLibra. We will show capabilities of both software packagesin terms of metadata creation and full-text search. After having object online we will think aboutits preservation in a longer term. We will create checksums and discuss about possiblesolutions for archiving this objects. We will also show how to publish objects in a very high resolution using tools like Zoomify orOpenLayers viewer. We will show both paid and free software packages
How to promote digital library and its assets? (część 1.)
Session will start with description of basic concepts behind SEO. We will then discuss why is itnecessary to promote objects in the web and how to do it. What tools might be useful here?Possible role of websites like Wikipedia? In this session we will show how to monitor usage of digital library resources. Second part willbe dedicated to assessment of digital library usability and accessibility
Summary report on ACCESS IT plus training
The first chapter contains list of all participants, trainers and organizers. Second chapter lists all sessions (with short abstracts of their content). Last chapters are summarizing feedback obtained from participants related to training content

PoznańAssembler Encoding is a neuro-evolutionary method which was used to produce a neural decision system for a team of autonomous underwater vehicles. Since results accomplished during experiments with the classic variant of Assembler Encoding appeared to be unsatisfactory, the method has been appropriately improved. The paper presents modifications to Assembler Encoding and reports experiments whose main goal was to test effectiveness of each of them
PoznańIn order to determine the structure and dynamic properties of polymers systems in a random environment we developed and studied an idealized model. Properties of the model of confined linear and branched polymer chains were studied by means of the Monte Carlo method. Model chains were built of statistical segments and embedded to a simple cubic lattice. Then, the polymers were put into a tube formed by four impenetrable surfaces. A Metropolis-like sampling Monte Carlo algorithm was used to determine the static and dynamic properties of these model macromolecules. The influence of the size of the confinement (the tube diameter) and the chain length on polymer properties was studied. The universal behavior of confined polymer linear chains under consideration was found and discussed. The long-time (diffusion) dynamic properties of the system were also studied. The differences in the mobility of chains depending on the number of branches was shown and discussed – stars with an even number of arms exhibited the ballistic motion at certain conditions. The possible mechanism of the chain’s motion was discussed
A Representative Set Methodfor Symbolic Sequence Clustering
Sequence decomposition into a set of consecutive, distinct subsequences is crucial for symbolic sequence analysis. It reduces significantly the reference base of the recorded sequence for further retrieval and allows for original similarityand membership measures of the sequences. The introduced measures are a start point to a new algorithm for clusteringsequences into groups of similar individuals. Algorithms that use the concept of a representative set achieved relatively goodclustering results. Th
