Islamic inclusivity: striking a balance and confronting hijacks in social justice advocacy
Inclusivity is an important aspect and it may bring forth many positive aspects. However, in modern times, inclusivity has been used as a tool to divide people from various social hierarchies. Challenged by the narrative, the researchers are interested in writing a paper that delves into inclusivity aspects from the Islamic perspective. The paper uses resources related to Islamic values such as Quranic verses, Maqasid al-Shariah, Hadith, historical contexts, and many others. Some of the important highlights of the paper emphasize the importance of inclusivity as it leads to a sense of belonging, a more welcoming atmosphere, equal opportunities, respect for cultural differences as well as diverse representation in leadership. Despite many positive aspects, inclusivity may also lead to negative happenstances such as tokenism, cancel culture, selective inclusivity, ideological conformity, and identity politics. As many young Muslims become activists, it is important to provide them with guidelines to ensure they know what is up and thus, they will promote the correct path of inclusivity. To reach that objective, they need to be well-informed, set a good example, seek guidance, form alliances, and demonstrate resilience. Islam emphasizes equality, justice, and compassion. Those values can lead the Ummah to better personal growth. Inclusivity, handled in the right way, is a force that helps to create peaceful and conducive communitie
Quantification of polyphenols content and antioxidant activity of Euphorbia tirucalli L. Extracted using maceration and soxhlet method
Euphorbia tirucalli L.(E. tirucalli) has gained attention for these past few years in terms of its phytochemical studies due to the antioxidant attribution of polyphenols source as its bioactive compounds in extracts. In order to extract important plant compounds, conventional extraction methods such as maceration and Soxhlet are still widely incorporated for plant extraction techniques due to their convenient application in laboratory settings. This study focused on the two conventional techniques; maceration and Soxhlet on polyphenols extraction of E. tirucalliusing various extraction solvents. In order to provide insight into its potential for polyphenols extraction, yield percentage (%) and phytochemical tests such as Total Phenolic Content (TPC), Total Flavonoid Content (TFC), and antioxidant activity (%) were assessed. In terms of yield percentage, Soxhlet methanolic extract was found to be the best. The findings also suggest that both maceration and Soxhlet techniques are effective in extracting a significant amount of phenolics and flavonoid content in which highest value recorded were 17.26 ± 0.23 mgGAE/100g and 50.08 ± 1.13 mgQE/100g for maceration while 16.17 ± 0.21 mgGAE/100g and 43.02 ± 0.01 mgQE/100g for Soxhlet. Maceration with methanol solvent appears to be more effective for TPC and TFC while Soxhlet acetonic extract is chosen as the best for antioxidant activity with 75 .79 ± 0.04 % of radical scavenging activity in E. tirucalliextract. Thus, this study indicates the noteworthy potential ofboth maceration and Soxhlet techniques for polyphenols extraction
Impact of service quality dimensions on patients’ satisfaction: a study on private hospital healthcare service in Dhaka
Despite its status as a basic human right, a considerable proportion of the populace in underdeveloped countries lacks access to fundamental medical care. In the absence of a sufficient and suitable healthcare system, all other sectors of the economy would have detrimental effects. Consequently, due to the city's burgeoning population and heightened awareness of healthcare concerns, private hospitals in Dhaka are progressively providing medical services to individuals from diverse backgrounds. The objective of this research is to ascertain the factors affecting patient satisfaction with the quality of health care services in private hospitals in Dhaka City and to examine the relationship between these factors and their implementation. The SERVEQUAL framework is employed to examine the direct effects of the associated elements. In five high-traffic private hospitals in Dhaka, 230 questionnaires were distributed directly to patients, of which 226 valid responses were analyzed. This research employed SPSS 25.0, a Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, to conduct an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) with hypothesis testing. The study's findings indicate that the tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy of each factor positively and significantly influence patient satisfaction; higher t-values for these factors correspond to a stronger correlation with patient satisfaction. Thus, the favourable results of the extensive study enquiries suggest that patients exhibit more satisfaction with private healthcare services when provided with high-quality treatment. The study's findings would benefit all stakeholders, including locals, private clinics, diagnostic centres, hospital proprietors, and patients
Halalan Tayyiban economy for ethical trade and industry
The concept of a Halalan Tayyiban economy offers a comprehensive framework for addressing the growing global demand for ethical, safe, and sustainable economic systems. Rooted in Islamic teachings, Halalan Tayyiban transcends the basic permissibility of products (halal) to embrace tayyib—wholesomeness, integrity, and moral excellence. It promotes balance between profitability and ethical responsibility, emphasising fairness, transparency, environmental care, and social justice. The Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS) has advanced this agenda through initiatives that connect science, technology, and halal food development “from genes to fork,” ensuring food safety, traceability, and sustainability. The principles of Halalan Tayyiban extend beyond food consumption to encompass humane animal treatment, fair trade, stakeholder equity, and environmental stewardship. Legislative frameworks such as Malaysia’s Trade Descriptions Act 2011 and Halal Assurance Systems integrate these values into certification and governance. Furthermore, digital technologies like IoT enhance halal supply chain transparency and traceability, ensuring compliance from production to distribution. Ultimately, integrating Tayyiban values into modern industry reflects Islam’s ethical ideals—promoting a balanced, just, and compassionate economic order that safeguards human welfare and environmental sustainability while reaffirming moral accountability as a divine trust

Evolution of waste and circular economy: pre-and post‑Covid‑19
Waste generation is a serious problem in both developed and developing countries, exacerbated
by Covid-19. In recent years, circular economy is a promising solution to sustainable
waste management. Therefore, this study aims to present the evolution of waste and circular
economy research before, during and after Covid-19. A bibliometric analysis of 1,149
scientific articles from the Scopus database in July 2023 was conducted, using Microsoft
Excel, Vosviewer and biblioshiny. The results were obtained using standard bibliometric
indicators such as publication and citation trends, influential countries, institutions, authors
and sources, and keyword analysis. The results show that the number of publications and
citations in this field has increased tremendously over the years, indicating the importance
of knowledge for both developed and developing countries. The main actors in this field
are both developed (European) and developing countries/institutions. Many sources of the
publications are from reputable journals. Keyword analysis shows that waste management
is the main topic before and after Covid-19, with plastic and agricultural waste being more
prominent after Covid-19. The findings provide some direction for future research and
underline the importance of using appropriate tools to undertake a thorough bibliometric

The dynamic impact of oil price on economic growth in African countries
This study examines the influence of oil prices on economic growth across 51 African countries from 2005 to 2023. It uses pooled Ordinary Least Squares (OLS), Random Effects (RE), Fixed Effects (FE), and the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) estimations to address issues of endogeneity and dynamic relationships. The analysis includes key macroeconomic variables such as the labor force, capital, exchange rates, inflation, and the current account balance. Results from dynamic panel GMM models show sustained economic growth, indicated by a strong, positive lagged GDP coefficient. Oil prices have a statistically significant positive effect on growth in the RE, FE, and GMM models, highlighting the influence of oil market fluctuations on African economies. Variables like labor force and capital investment support growth, while inflation and exchange rate volatility negatively affect it, reflecting macroeconomic risks. Additionally, the impact of oil prices on economic growth is asymmetric between oil-importing and oil-exporting countries, indicating the vulnerability of African economies to oil price fluctuations. These findings emphasize the crucial role of oil price movements in shaping the economic landscape of African nations and underscore the need for comprehensive macroeconomic policies to manage inflation and exchange rate pressures
