No full textУ статті вперше друкується взаємне листування двох видатних українських науковців-емігрантів Льва Биковського та Володимира Кубійовича, яке було виявлене в канадських архівах. Воно проливає світло не тільки на їх працю над фундаментальною Енциклопедією Українознавства, але й на роботу обох учених над спогадами, бібліографічну працю Биковського, пошуки незбереженої п’єси поета Юрія Липи тощо. Визначено найбільш цінні свідчення листів, вказано на причини початку і завершення кореспонденції.The article publishes for the first time the mutual correspondence between two prominent Ukrainian émigré scholars, Lev Bykovskyi and Volodymyr Kubiyovych, which was discovered in Canadian archives. This correspondence sheds light not only on their work on the fundamental Encyclopedia of Ukrainian Studies but also on their efforts in memoir writing, Bykovskyi’s bibliographic research, the search for the lost play by poet Yurii Lypa, and other scholarly endeavors. The most valuable testimonies from the letters are identified, and the reasons for the beginning and end of their correspondence are discussed
Convergence of socio-economic development of regions and its impact on sustainable development of enterprises

Показано, що руйнування промислових потужностей посилює диспропорції між регіонами, а застосування інструменту кластеризації підприємств дозволило сформувати напрями можливої конвергенції між Дніпропетровською та Запорізькою областями шляхом інтеграції фінансово подібних металургійних підприємств, уніфікації кадрової політики та розвитку спільних інноваційно-інвестиційних стратегій. Це створює підґрунтя формування єдиного промислового простору металургійного виробництва на регіональному рівні.The article examines the convergence of socio-economic development of the regions of Ukraine and its impact on the sustainable development of metallurgical enterprises. This study focuses on the consequences of deindustrialization due to the destruction of strategic industrial facilities in Eastern Ukraine after 2014, particularly emphasizing the period following 2022. This destruction has led to significant structural imbalances in industrial output, employment, and export potential. The authors posit that the attainment of regional development is contingent upon the capacity to adapt to novel economic realities, the attraction of investment, the integration into domestic and foreign markets, and the implementation of smart specialization principles. The present research aims to explore the possibilities of clustering metallurgical enterprises as an effective tool for ensuring socio-economic convergence in the context of sustainable development. The present study utilizes data from eight prominent Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises for 2019–2023, encompassing financial performance, human resources, and innovation-investment indicators. Applying hierarchical cluster analysis in IBM SPSS 23 enabled identifying four distinct groups of enterprises that demonstrated differences in financial stability, personnel potential, and innovative activity. The study’s findings demonstrate that the utilization of clustering methodologies facilitates the identification of both the similarities and differences between enterprises, thereby providing a foundation for developing regional policy measures. The findings indicate that enterprises with analogous financial or human resource characteristics may function as catalysts for socio-economic development, while others reveal risks of divergence. The study emphasizes the importance of innovation and investment as critical determinants of regional convergence. In this context, forming innovative economy models and innovation clusters is a promising mechanism for balancing regional disparities, enhancing competitiveness, and achieving sustainable development goals. The conclusions provide practical recommendations for policymakers and business managers and outline directions for further research on strategic frameworks of regional convergence in Ukraine

An Algebra of Elliptic Commuting Variables and an Elliptic Extension of the Multinomial Theorem
No full textWe introduce an algebra of elliptic commuting variables involving a base , nome , and 2 noncommuting variables. This algebra, which for = 1 reduces to an algebra considered earlier by the author, is an elliptic extension of the well-known algebra of -commuting variables. We present a multinomial theorem valid as an identity in this algebra, hereby extending the author's previously obtained elliptic binomial theorem to higher rank. Two essential ingredients are a consistency relation satisfied by the elliptic weights and the Weierstraß type elliptic partial fraction decomposition. From the elliptic multinomial theorem, we obtain, by convolution, an identity equivalent to Rosengren's type extension of the Frenkel-Turaev ₁₀₉ summation. Interpreted in terms of a weighted counting of lattice paths in the integer lattice ℤʳ, this derivation of Rosengren's ᵣ Frenkel-Turaev summation constitutes the first combinatorial proof of that fundamental identity.The author’s research was partly supported by an FWF Austrian Science Fund grant, doi:10.55776/ P32305
The Morse-Smale Property of the Thurston Spine
No full textThe Thurston spine consists of the subset of Teichmüller space at which the set of shortest curves, the systoles, cuts the surface into polygons. The systole function is a topological Morse function on Teichmüller space. This paper studies the local properties of the Thurston spine and the smooth pieces out of which it is constructed. Some of these local properties are shown to have global consequences, for example, that the Thurston spine satisfies properties defined in terms of the systole function analogous to that of Morse-Smale complexes of (smooth) Morse functions on compact manifolds with boundary.The author would like to thank Stavros Garoufalidis, Don Zagier, and a number of very helpful anonymous referees for comments that led to significant improvements
Tourist animation as a tool of social cohesion in post-war Ukraine (on the example of tourist and recreational and hotel and restaurant establishments)

Визначено, що цифрові технології сприяють переходу до інтерактивної, персоналізованої та гнучкої моделі взаємодії з туристами, що потребує оновлення професійних компетентностей аніматорів та перегляду стандартів надання туристичних послуг. Окрема увага приділяється соціокультурному, економічному та символічному значенню туристської анімації у повоєнний період. Показано її роль як інструменту соціальної інтеграції, психоемоційного відновлення, популяризації національної культурної спадщини, а також розвитку мікропідприємництва та локальних громад. Наголошується на необхідності інтеграції туристської анімації в стратегії післявоєнного відновлення, регіонального розвитку та державної гуманітарної політики.The article explores the transformation of tourist animation in the context of digitalization and post-war recovery in Ukraine. It emphasizes that the integration of digital technologies leads to the emergence of an interactive, personalized, and flexible model of interaction with tourists. This transformation requires updating the professional competencies of animators, adapting educational programs, and revising service quality standards in the digital environment. Particular attention is paid to the socio-cultural, economic, and symbolic significance of tourist animation in the post-war period. Tourist animation is considered not only as a tool for recreation and entertainment but also as a mechanism for social cohesion, psycho-emotional recovery, and the revitalization of cultural potential in different regions. It contributes to the integration of internally displaced persons, veterans, children affected by traumatic events, and other vulnerable population groups by creating safe spaces for interpersonal communication and collective experience. Furthermore, animation programs aimed at promoting national cultural heritage help strengthen patriotic identity and reinforce respect for Ukrainian traditions and heroic narratives. From an economic standpoint, the development of animation services fosters micro-entrepreneurship, community activation, job creation, and diversification of regional economies, particularly in rural and post-conflict areas. Animators, as interdisciplinary professionals, play an important role in facilitating dialogue among various social groups, ethnicities, and generations. Thus, tourist animation becomes a creative tool for societal rehabilitation, the restoration of the cultural landscape, and the formation of a positive international image of Ukraine. Its systematic development should be integrated into post-war recovery strategies, regional development programs, and national humanitarian policy
Prolongation of (8, 15)-Distribution of Type ₄ by Singular Curves
No full textCartan gives the model of (8, 15)-distribution with the exceptional simple Lie algebra ₄ as its symmetry algebra in his paper (1893), which was published one year before his thesis. In the present paper, we study abnormal extremals (singular curves) of Cartan's model from the viewpoints of sub-Riemannian geometry and geometric control theory. Then we construct the prolongation of Cartan's model based on the data related to its singular curves, and obtain the nilpotent graded Lie algebra which is isomorphic to the negative part of the graded Lie algebra ₄.The authors would like to thank anonymous referees for their valuable and helpful comments to improve the paper. Hilbert Series of ₃-Quasi-Invariant Polynomials in Characteristics 2, 3
No full textWe compute the Hilbert series of the space of = 3 variable quasi-invariant polynomials in characteristic 2 and 3, capturing the dimension of the homogeneous components of the space, and explicitly describe the generators in the characteristic 2 case. In doing so, we extend the work of the first author in 2023 on quasi-invariant polynomials in characteristic > and prove that a sufficient condition found by Ren-Xu in 2020 on when the Hilbert series differs between characteristic 0 and is also necessary for = 3, = 2,3. This is the first description of quasi-invariant polynomials in the case where the space forms a modular representation over the symmetric group, bringing us closer to describing the quasi-invariant polynomials in all characteristics and numbers of variables.We would like to thank the PRIMES program for making the project possible. It unites the principles of classical cybernetics, evolutionary theory, cognitive sciences, and noospherology to study the universal laws of development of complex systems and the mechanisms of their directed management.The integration of the basic categories of management, adaptation, and feedback with evolutionary processes of variation, selection, self-organization, and synergy is proposed.Стаття присвячена формуванню концептуальних і методологічних засад еволюційної кібернетики як нового міждисциплінарного наукового напряму, що об’єднує принципи класичної кібернетики, еволюційної теорії, когнітивних наук і ноосферології для дослідження універсальних законів розвитку складних систем та механізмів їх цілеспрямованого керування.
