The Kielce Bishop Czesław Kaczmarek is rightly considered one of the martyrs of the Catholic Church in Poland during the Stalinist era. He was the only bishop to be tried by the communist authorities. The allegations of cooperation with Germany and spying for the US were propaganda and nothing to do with the truth. For several years, the bishop had been kept in prison and was subjected to a brutal investigation. The authorities also imprisoned a number of priests and nuns. The Kaczmarek trial, as shown by events in the courtroom, was directed not only against him but against the entire Church in Poland and the Vatican. The communist authorities did not cease their repressions against the Kielce ordinary, after 1956, seeing in Czesław Kaczmarek a determined enemy of the system. The Kielce Bishop Czesław Kaczmarek is rightly considered one of the martyrs of the Catholic Church in Poland during the Stalinist era. The modern phenomenon of a nation is directly connected with the outcomes of the French Revolution, the latter having predetermined the political, social and economic processes of the 19th century. With cosmopolitan empires becoming, so to say, “incubators” for the nations, the Russian Empire was no exception. Perception of the borders, territories and the population of the empire shaped the processes of capturing new territories, their further attribution to the newly formed imperial historical framework, which in the course of time impacted national constructs. The scientific implications of the phenomenon of an empire and imperial practices triggered the research in the field of imperial history. The tools of image-based geography allow to reveal additional details and peculiarities of states and nations developing within the imperial environment. The author focuses on the processes of projecting, mapping and visualizing the territories with their ethnic population. The article demonstrates the ways the political relevance impacted the layouts of regions, borders and demographic characteristics. The modern phenomenon of a nation is directly connected with the outcomes of the French Revolution, the latter having predetermined the political, social and economic processes of the 19th century. “Particular Churches, in which and from which, the one and only Catholic Church exists, are principally dioceses. Unless the contrary is clear, the following are equivalent to a diocese: a territorial prelature, a territorial abbacy, a vicariate apostolic, a prefecture apostolic and a permanently established apostolic administration” (canon 368 of the Code of Canon Law). In December 2016, the Bishop of Tarnów convened the 5th Synod of the Diocese of Tarnów. The main purpose of a Synod – in the opinion of the Bishop of Tarnów – was to demonstrate the spiritual, pastoral and material heritage of the Christ’s Church in the Diocese of Tarnów; to revive faith, hope and love in the personal and community relationship with Christ in the Church; and to indicate new pastoral ways in the changeability of the world towards the unchangeability of Christ. Taking this into consideration the article analyzes the following issues: the definition of a synod; the purpose of a synod; convocation of and presiding over a diocesan synod; the preparation of a synod; Pope Francis about synodality, and finally “The Church is our neighbour” – a synod as an expression of love for the Church.“Particular Churches, in which and from which, the one and only Catholic Church exists, are principally dioceses. The aim of this publication is to show the meaning of human life and health in the perspective of Christian personalism. Modern man easily loses the essence of life and health, disregards these values and destroys them. That is why it is important to acknowledge the great value of life and health. Recognition of these values is a manifestation of conscious responsibility. These precious gifts of God determine the fulfillment of the Christian vocation.Celem niniejszej publikacji jest ukazanie sensu ludzkiego życia i zdrowia w perspektywie chrześcijańskiego personalizmu. Człowiek współczesny łatwo zatraca istotę życia i zdrowia, lekceważy te wartości i je niszczy. Dlatego ważne jest, aby dostrzec ich ogromną wartość. Uznanie wartości życia i zdrowia jest przejawem świadomej odpowiedzialności. Te cenne dary Boga warunkują bowiem wypełnienie chrześcijańskiego powołania

    Kościół w Opatowie w warunkach komunizmu (1945-1966)

After the Second World War, the communist authorities in Poland (Polish United Workers' Party - PZPR) implemented a program to eliminate the Church from public life. In the city of Opatów, which belonged to the Sandomierz diocese, the process that was implemented mirrored what was occurring throughout the country. In this article, the interactions between the Catholic Church and state authorities is presented using the example of the Opatów parish. Policy of atheism and secularization of society took over the parish of St. Martin's religious orders, schools and institutions. Religious education was removed from public schools, the material possessions of the Church were reduced, and nuns were dismissed from work at kindergartens and hospitals. The secret services and state administration for religious denominations were instituted to oversee religious and pastoral activities. The most discriminatory policy was experienced by priests, monks and nuns working in the Opatów parish. Anti-communist resistance and active religious life of Catholics in this city and surrounding villages meant that the Church maintained a high moral authority and social position. Polityka laicyzacji i ateizacji społeczeństwa objęła parafię św. Marcina, zakony, szkoły i instytucje. Usunięto naukę religii ze szkół publicznych, redukowano materialny stan posiadania Kościoła, zwalniano zakonnice z pracy w przedszkolach i szpitalach. Służby specjalne i państwowa administracja do spraw wyznań inwigilowały działalność religijną i duszpasterską. Dyskryminacyjnej polityki najbardziej doświadczyli księża, zakonnicy i zakonnice pracujące w parafii Opatów. Antykomunistyczny opór i aktywne życie religijne katolików w tym mieście i okolicznych wioskach spowodowały, że Kościół utrzymał wysoki autorytet moralny i pozycję społeczną

    Pasyjne fenomeny mistyczne

An important place in the experiences of the mystics of the Church is the fact of their participation in the Passion of Jesus Christ. Mystics can receive the gifts of an invisible puncture of the heart and invisible stigmata, also of a visible participation in whipping, crowning with thorns and the crucifixion of the Savior, which takes the form of the actual piercing of their hands, feet and heart. Complementing the phenomena is bloody sweat, bloody images and inscriptions. Thus, the passion phenomena given to them are a real reflection of the secrets of Golgotha. Their life takes the form of a living book of remembrance about the price of Salvation, which Jesus Christ paid on the wood of the Cross.W doświadczeniach mistyków Kościoła ważne miejsce zajmuje fakt ich partycypacji w Męce Jezusa Chrystusa.
