Chrzest jako misterium pieczęci w tradycji pierwszych trzech wieków

The article shows how the baptism was understood in the Church of the first three centuries as the mystery of the seal. This aspect of the baptism was emphasized by Qumran community. It was also evident in the experience of the baptism of John the Baptist, what was described in the first century by Flavius Josephus. The Fathers of the Church in the 2nd and 3rd century were using the phrase seal of baptism directly. The author of The Shepherd of Hermas, who represented Roman community and Clement of Aleksandria deemed that the baptism in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit set the seal on the existential confession of faith in Jesus as the Son of God. Tertullian from Carthage described more broadly the process of increase in the existential faith during the pre-baptismal initiation and its further development preparing for the baptism of blood, that is for the martyrdom due to the faith in Jesus. Christians understood the baptism of John the Baptist, that is the baptism of conversion as well as the baptism of blood symbolically, as a frame for the only baptism which they received.

St. John Chrysostom, who was born about 349 after Christ, was one of the greatest preachers in the history of the Church. In his homilies, he focused on the moral formation of Christians. He did so at the expense of strictly doctrinal preaching. To this day, only his polemical homilies with heresies of that time have been preserved, which undermined the divinity of the Holy Spirit and the occurrence connected with the celebration of Pentecost and Epiphany. His statements about the Holy Spirit include also some catechetical homilies and speeches against Jews, Judaizers and Hellenes. Dynamic rhetoric and intransigence of Saint John Chrysostom can be an inspiration for the modern homilist in preparing the proclamation of the Holy Spirit.Święty Jan Chryzostom, który urodził się ok. 349 roku po Chrystusie, był jednym z najwybitniejszych kaznodziejów w historii Kościoła. Uczynił to kosztem przepowiadania stricte doktrynalnego.

    „Polonia Sacra” – w stulecie pierwszego numeru

The article presents a historical sketch of „Polonia Sacra” journal. This was done to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first issue. The journal was created as an organ of the Pope Benedict XV Association in 1918. After the dissolution of the Association in 1925, the periodical was taken over entirely by Fr. Jan Nepomucen Fijałek and it was published under the title „Nova Polonia Sacra”. The outbreak of World War II suspended the publication of the journal. Restarted in 1948 as an organ of the Faculty of Theology of the Jagiellonian University, it received a new title – „Polonia Sacra: a theological quarterly”. After the shutdown of theological faculties at Polish universities by the communist authorities and the transfer of the Faculty of Theology from the Jagiellonian University to the Academy of Catholic Theology in Warsaw, the periodical became an organ of the Faculty of Law and it was published in 1954 – 1958 under the title „Polonia Sacra: a historical and canonical quarterly”. The journal was re-established under the original name of „Polonia Sacra” in 1997 at the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Academy of Theology in Kraków (since 2009 the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Kraków).W artykule niniejszym nakreślono szkic historyczny czasopisma „Polonia Sacra”. Uczyniono to w stulecie ukazania się pierwszego numeru. Czasopismo to powstało jako organ naukowy Towarzystwa im. Papieża Benedykta XV-go w roku 1918.

    Get PDF
There is no wordless liturgy, a celebration employing solely gestures or thoughts. Even if a liturgy of that sort could materialize, it would necessarily prove demeaning to man’s very humanity by eliminating the proper human “tools” which elevate him above all other creatures. In addition to this, a wordless liturgy would also clearly contradict the nature of the Creator himself who, especially in the liturgy, uses the Word to perform and to bring to completion the work of creation and redemption. In this article I would like to move closer towards the mystery of a word, or rather, towards the mystery of the Word and words, in the liturgy, so that eventually the full significance of words in Christian celebrations may be brought out. To achieve this goal I suggest a wide perspective, both historical and theological, which hopefully will allow for a better understanding of liturgy. Zaproponowana refleksja chce spojrzeć na problematykę w sposób możliwe szeroki, historyczny i teologiczny zarazem, poszukując syntezy, dzięki której lepiej będzie można zrozumieć samą liturgię

Kodeks Hartkera (CH-SGs 390/391) – genialna szkoła retoryki w służbie teologii liturgicznej

Liturgical music in the first millennium was first of all cantillation, reciting liturgical texts with musical formulae and phrases to express structure and meanings of a text. With the means of spoken language a cantor had to give all informations of reading or prayer. Two elements are basic for a good recitation: Accent and articulation. All the types of cadences are acoustic punctuation marks. The oldest neumes had to serve for these rules of language. The monk Hartker was according to the tradition the scribe of a prominent antiphoner about the year 1000. In reality this manuscript had four main scribes and a lot of additional hands. All of them have followed the principle of expressing liturgical theology by means of music like accent and articulation. The examples presented show, how the scribes have understood the texts, which words in an antiphon served as key words, which theological aspects were important for them. This is a school of prayer according to the principle of logiké latreia, praying with intellect and spirit and emotion. Hartker is the aggiornamento of the bible in the 10th century.Muzyka liturgiczna w pierwszym tysiącleciu była przede wszystkim kantylacją; kantorrecytował teksty liturgiczne formułami i frazami muzycznymi, aby wyrazić strukturęi znaczenie tekstu.

    Get PDF
Integrative Gestalt pedagogy is a comprehensive pedagogy that based on Gestalt theory (-philosophy, -psychology, -therapy, -pedagogy), humanistic psychology and pedagogy. In the 1980s its holistic approach was used by Dr Albert Höfer to reform the concept of the Austrian religious education. Höfer succeeded in designing a complete Gestalt-pedagogical model of learning and teaching, whose uniqueness can be seen in its approaches that encourage student’s personal growth. In accordance with Jesus’s teaching it looks at students in a loving and caring way, talking to them in their everyday situations and opening them to religious experience and God’s working in their lives. This has been confirmed by empirical research.Integrative Gestalt pedagogy is a comprehensive pedagogy that based on Gestalt theory (-philosophy, -psychology, -therapy, -pedagogy), humanistic psychology and pedagogy. New Challenges for the Catholic Vision of the Vocation of Women and Men

At the turn of the 21st century, the ethical boundaries have been demolished in a dramatic way, especially in reference to the broadly understood human sexuality. An intensively promoted materialist anthropology connected to the reductive vision of human sexuality and sexual life, has created the foundation for anew ideology. Gender theory finds itself well in the postmodernist context, where multi-dimensional determinist conditioning, relativism and temporality of all human intellectual property are highlighted. The Traditional categories as femininity, masculinity, and heterosexuality were rejected and treated as mere archaic stereotypes. According to gender ideologists, in order to prevent discrimination one has to finally start the deconstruction of a patriarchal regime and replace it with anew, egocentric and hedonistic culture. The author of this article presents new challenges for the Catholic vision of the vocation of women and men highlighting the deconstruction of the biological sex, a new anthropology and the far-going transformations in the consciousness, social, cultural and political activity on an international scale. At the turn of the 21st century, the ethical boundaries have been demolished in a dramatic way, especially in reference to the broadly understood human sexuality. Concerning the Dialectical Criticism of Religion

    Get PDF
A contemporary so-called „New Atheism” is one of the many ways the existence of God is denied. It is based on criticism directed against the followers of various religions. This criticism focuses on the object of religion to which the cult is directed. It is mainly about illuminating the natural or social foundation of religion. To annihilate religion, atheists postulate subjecting it to dialectical criticism developed by Karl Marx. This criticism of the concept of religion, although it will not make it disappear completely, will result in a post-religious synthesis which will appear in new forms of worship and spirituality.Współczesny ateizm nazywany „nowym” jest jedną z form negacji istnienia Boga. Polega on na krytyce kierowanej przeciwko wyznawcom różnych religii.
