Wolność, nieskończoność, wzniosłość: przestrzeń duchowa w doświadczaniu muzyki religijnej w perspektywie fenomenologicznej

    No full text
In pursuing the phenomenological description of musical religious experience author refers to William James’ analysis of religious experience, pointing to his ideas of the individual, emotional and above all engagement as the major elements that mark the religious experience. She refers to the aesthetic and psychological though of Edmund Gurney as well as the work of Max Scheler trying presenting a comparison between the religious and aesthetic in the context of the musical experience. Pointing to the music that may be neither functioning nor inspired by the Church, author describes the attentive and engaged music experience that opens up the spiritual space for growing and changing oneself as the ultimate prize for the listening-in.W poszukiwaniu fenomenologicznego ujęcia muzycznego doświadczenia religijnego autorka nawiązuje do analizy doświadczenia religijnego Williama Jamesa oraz do pism Edmunda Gurneya, a wreszcie do pracy Maxa Schelera.

    No full text
The tensions existing in the Church between the preservation of Tradition and its development have always existed. It is difficult to maintain a harmonious balance in this respect. Accentuating fidelity to Tradition means that its development remains in the shadow. And vice versa ‑ focusing on the development process of Tradition, shifts the concern for its integrity. After the Second Vatican Council, the tensions between the Vatican and local churches concerned the synod institution, the episcopate conference and the infallible teaching of the Pope. In the future, these tensions between the preservation of tradition and development will concern celibacy of priests and priesthood of women. There is a space of freedom for new solutions in the Church, but there are also limits that cannot be crossed. No state in the Church, and no more individuals have a monopoly on the truth. It can be discerned in the community in which the Holy Spirit operates. The tensions existing in the Church between the preservation of Tradition and its development have always existed. Vulnerability in Facing the Covid-19 Pandemic in the Light of Relational Trauma

    No full text
Coping with the COVID-19 pandemic has revealed different ways individuals react to frustrations they have experienced. Many times we have witnessed an increased level of aggression in interpersonal relationships and in the general social context. We find that there are some differences in coping and responding according to gender, with men showing a higher level of vulnerability and risk of inappropriate regulation and expression of anger when frustrated. To a certain extent, the answer to why this happens is provided by neuroscientific research, which shows that already at an early age, boys’ brains develop differently from girls’, as it takes more time to develop their stress-regulating mechanism; consequently, due to slower development, boys are more vulnerable to early stressful situations and have more problems with self-regulation of affective states at this early age. Together with the possibility of relational trauma in the family, to which many children are exposed from the earliest period of their lives and which plays an important role in providing a context for the development of affect regulation, that means that boys and men are even more vulnerable and sensitive to stress, aggression and trauma later in life. It makes sense to take these neuroscience findings into account when building an understanding of responses to stressful challenges, such as coping with a pandemic, as well as when planning appropriate models to help individuals cope with different types of stress.Coping with the COVID-19 pandemic has revealed different ways individuals react to frustrations they have experienced. Stefan Wyszyński’s Personalistic Vision of Upbringing

    No full text
The personalistic concept of man, especially the one based on the philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas, underscores the full autonomy of the human person, his freedom, the gradual discovery of the truth and good, and choices in accord with this cognition. The key issue in Stefan Wyszyński’s personalism is the integral vision of the human person. This personalism is a system of upbringing that respects the nature and value of man who ‘humanizes’ the world and expresses himself while constantly evolving. He gives a personal, social and dynamic character to the community in which he functions. He has a right to be brought up in keeping with his nature and ultimate destiny. The personalistic concept of man, especially the one based on the philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas, underscores the full autonomy of the human person, his freedom, the gradual discovery of the truth and good, and choices in accord with this cognition. Mariologia św. Cezarego z Arles

    No full text
The following article presents the Mariology of St. Caesarius of Arles. It consists of two parts. The first shows Mary’s place in allegorical exegesis, and the second one illustrates the most important truths of faith regarding her. The moon, the earth, and the marriage chamber, are for Bishop of Arles, the most important symbols of the Mother of our Lord. Mary’s Motherhood of God, virginity and holiness are the fundamental truths of faith which he proclaims. The shape of Caesarius’ Mariology was primarily influenced by his pastoral experience, which is why the truths he presents are not innovative. Rather, Caesarius repeats what he inherited from other church fathers.Artykuł prezentuje mariologię św. Cezarego z Arles. Składa się z dwóch części. Pierwsza ukazuje miejsce Maryi w egzegezie alegorycznej, a druga najważniejsze prawdy wiary odnośnie do Niej.

    Get PDF
The Gospel of Luke is the only one of its kind. It is the only gospel that has its continuation in the Acts of the Apostles. Anyone who approaches the Gospel of Luke can find in it something for himself. For example, it is worth noting that the prologue was written in classical Greek style, and the first two chapters presenting the childhood of Jesus, resemble the style and form of books of the Old Testament. The Gospel of Luke is exceptional not only from literary point of view but also thematically. The third evangelist shows that Jesus came into the world to save all. He does it by revealing the infinite mercy of God, which bends over everybody who needs assistance regardless of his status. At the center of this message there are the three parables of mercy in Chapter 15. Those parables are Jesus’ response to the criticism of the Pharisees and scribes who look down at Jesus who meets and eats with those needing God’s mercy.

The Ancient Roman Family in the Context of Antiquity

    Get PDF
This article discusses the every-day family life in ancient Rome and its functioning throughout the period of royal, republican, and imperial Rome. The article draws attention to the roles played by Roman family members of antiquity. Positive values cultivated by the ancient family, which are outlined in this essay, might provide a way to understand Roman antiquity through the contemporary lens and provide a postulate of the reflexive human nature in this respect. This article discusses the every-day family life in ancient Rome and its functioning throughout the period of royal, republican, and imperial Rome.
