Hasło sprawiedliwości społecznej jako wstęp do tyranii

The slogan of “social justice” was variously understood in history; it was the basis of changes – in the broad sense of the word – democratic, but it also turned out to be a propaganda “catch” and an introduction to tyranny. Plato was perhaps the first who pointed out that democracy – when the theme of “redistribution of goods” and egalitarianism comes to the forefront – spontaneously turns into tyranny. Aristotle, in his policy concept (politeia), tried to prevent it. I would like to consider (in a nutshell) how these concepts “worked in history” and are currently valid. Finally, I would like to present three models of “social justice”: hierarchical (ancient), based on an equal criterion (modern, liberal) and egalitarian (utopian, leveling), which is an ideology leading to centralized, arbitrary and even tyrannical power.

    COVID-19. A Catechetical-Experiential Reading

    No full text
This article seeks to give a Christian understanding to the reality of COVID-19 which the world has gone through in the past months. This is done in a catechetical way by elaborating upon what truly transforms a lived event into an experience and into a Christian religious experience through a catechetical process. This implies seeking to understand any lived event by reflecting upon it and then applying the results of one’s reflection to one’s life. This theoretical framework is then applied to the reality of COVID-19 with the aim of rendering the lived event of the pandemic into a Christian religious experience which leaves a positive effect on the lives of believers through a catechetical process of understanding it in the light of the Word of God, and then applying the outcomes to one’s life afterwards. This article seeks to give a Christian understanding to the reality of COVID-19 which the world has gone through in the past months. Lauda Sion, Salvatorem Sequence and its Polish Translations in the Source Songbooks

    No full text
Research on the sequence Lauda Sion, Salvatorem dedicated to the Corpus Christi ceremony, allowed us to find and analyze over a dozen translations into Polish of this 13th century Latin pattern. It consists of 12 pairs of stanzas, with their parity – according to the poetics of the sequence – is emphasized by the conformity of a sound of the final verses of each pair of the stanza and the remaining verses are connected by adjoining rhymes, usually feminine, accurate, with aab + ccb scheme. We know most translators by name: Stanisław Grochowski, Jan Białobocki, Stanisław Serafin Jagodyński, Father Ignacy Hołowiński, Father Tadeusz Karyłowski, Jadwiga Gamska-Łempicka, Leopold Staff, several translations are anonymous. All Polish translations agree with the original on the content. However, differences appear in the form, structure of the poetic sequence, number of stanzas and in metrics. The common knowledge of the sequence Lauda Sion, Salvatorem, was probably the fruit of the great Eucharistic devotion in Poland, which was marked already in the 13th century, when the Church introduced the feast of Corpus Christi and lasted for the next centuries, up to the 20th century.Research on the sequence Lauda Sion, Salvatorem dedicated to the Corpus Christi ceremony, allowed us to find and analyze over a dozen translations into Polish of this 13th century Latin pattern. The Father advocates the simple and humble. He reveals the bond between Him and the Son, and at the same time hides it from the pride of the scribes (11, 25–27). The Father should meet with a respectful fear of the people because He ultimately decides on the fate of man. The note of the possibility of definitive rejection by the Father is mitigated by His care for and knowledge of every detail of human life (10, 28–31). From the fact that God is the Father can be derived an apparent common brotherhood that connects disciples which has nothing to do with any form of dependency. The disciples are only dependent on the Father in heaven (23, 9).Ojciec opowiada się za ludźmi prostymi.

Axiological and teleological dimension of the mission of the media. These analyzes are an attempt to search for rational foundations of the public media mission from the perspective of the purposefulness of media functioning and the purposefulness of media activities of media people in the context of values. These analyzes are an attempt to properly define and position the media mission on the foundation of the purposefulness of their functioning and the purposefulness of journalistic activities based on individual ethical responsibility in a spirit of respect for the value and dignity of each person. I understand the missionary nature of the media in two ways; firstly, the tasks and functions of the media in a social dimension of various nature: educational, educational, formative, cultural, charitable, ideological, integration, evangelizing, all media activities in the field of socially and axiologically important matters. Secondly, I understand missionary approach from the journalistic perspective as the responsible action of journalists and all those involved in social communication, i.e. the journalistic mission. Media missionary and journalistic mission are correlative and complementary. Analyzing the functionality of the media, it cannot be rooted out of the subjectivity of the goals. Therefore, the axiological and teleological perspective reveal the presence and role of man as a goal-oriented being in the entire space of his human activity in the media sphere understood as a space of value. Our analyzes are based on personalistic ethical and social thought, which we use to analyze source documents and literature on the subject, drawing from these analyzes synthetic conclusions about the axiological and teleological dimension of social and public mission of the media.Aksjologiczno-teleologiczny wymiar misyjności mediów. Niniejsze analizy są próbą poszukiwania racjonalnych podstaw misji publicznej mediów z perspektywy celowości funkcjonowania mediów i celowości działań medialnych ludzi mediów w kontekście wartości. Misyjność mediów rozumiem podwójnie; po pierwsze to zadania i funkcje mediów w wymiarze społecznym o różnym charakterze: edukacyjnym, wychowawczym, formacyjnym, kulturalnym, charytatywnym, ideologicznym, integracyjnym, ewangelizacyjnym, to wszelkie działania mediów w zakresie spraw ważnych społecznie i aksjologicznie.

    Poznawanie Schelera

    No full text
The article is a retrospective look at the process of getting to know the life and work of a well-known German intellectual Max Scheler (1874–1928), a pioneer in phenomenology, ethics, and philosophical anthropology. The paper covers a biographical synthesis with an emphasis put on the problematic elements of the life of the German philosopher, an attempt to synthesize Scheler’s intellectual achievements in the light of various publications devoted to his works and ideas, and a critical analysis of his work entitled Der Formalismus in der Ethik und die materiale Wertethik (1916), which up to this day has not been fully translated into Polish. The subject of this reflection is to show the intuitive dissonance between what Scheler wrote and taught and how he lived, while its purpose is to demonstrate it. This seems to be an important issue, especially in the context of ethics and axiology that claim to have the right to formulate rules binding on every individual.
